Beyonceen and how many times a day?

Well done Weddingcake! Congratulations. Constipation ehh? So we've had 2 paracetamol with Jamantha and a couple of Senna for you?

Caroline1852 · 19/06/2007 22:37

Weddingcake - congratulations to you and your family on your new arrival. Hope things are going well for you.

Congrats Wedding Cake

Beyonceen sorry you may need a c section.

I had my app with consultant today and home birth is def out and it sounds as though I may need a c section too because he says the shoulder dystoccia with my first was quite serious. A C section will not be good because it will prob clash with my dads op. I have to go in for another scan next tue and he is suggesting a sweep to bring things on before the baby gets too big (37 weeks at mo). The hospital I am booked in at was on 'how clean is your house' with Kym and Aggie investigating its cleanliness, it's really quite a depressing place. I know its naff but I was really looking forward to homebirth and convinced I would be able to have a natural birth this time. I feel a little bereft that I will never get to have that home birth experience . I will soon forget all this no doubt when I am struggling with breastfeeding and changing lots of nappies

Congrats weddingcake! Amazing all these babies just popping out! I'm really hoping that I hardly notice this baby coming out but after being told I'm small for dates repeatedly (and starting to think that I should get worried) I'm now big for dates - in the space of a week. Given that DS was 8lb 15oz and I was "small", I'm a wee bit concerned. Again as I've only put on 2 stone as opposed to 3 the last time, but there must be some of it that's actual baby. Also heard last week that my gran gave birth to a 13lb+ uncle 60 years ago. Blimey.
Baby's head still bopping up and down on cervix - OUCH OUCH OUCH!

No ironing in this house either, just DH doing his own shirts - glad to know I'm not alone!
Hope all's well with everyone, nearly there now

Congratulations Weddingcake! Cannot wait to hear your story
So pleased to hear that you finally have him at home too...love the name!

Also pleased to hear your home Jamantha..hope little Charlotte is doing well.

Well I have had the worst 3 days!!!! Long story short I have Gastroentiritis (sp) I have been camped out in my downstairs loo for the past 3 days. Doctor advised me to stay away from food for 24 hours and just drink 'diaralyte'...Oh man that stuff is gross!
Anyway, I had two pieces of toast an hour ago and so far I still have it in my body!

Was very concerned for baby as its movements slowed right down but then I doubt it had any room to move with all the nasty stuff in my tummy and lack of food.

I hope that everyone else manages to avoid what seems to be a tummy bug epidemic in my area!

Big hugs to all.

madmumNika · 20/06/2007 08:55

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS Weddingcake!
And welcome to the world baby Jamie

Had been wondering where you were... Really glad you and Jamie are ok, I am sure you had some ups & downs but it's fantastic you are both home together now. How is the feeding going? I know early babies can be a tricky one if you're trying to breastfeed... In fact with DS he only finally 'got it' when he was the equivalent of 42 weeks gestation (he'd been born at 30 wks). Good support/asking for help & perseverence seems to help but don't put yourself under too much pressure. Sending lots of gentle cuddles to Jamie ((( )))

Myfairone- hope you are finally on the mend, poor you sounds horrendous! I have a miserable cold & cough now but that's nothing compared to evil tummy bugs. Hope you are managing to recuperate ok.

RE Arnica- I will be using 36C strength, and will start it when/if I go into labour- 1 tablet 3 times a day, or in the day leading to a c-section- and keep taking it for at least a week after the birth. Plus have got arnica cream to rub on too! I think advice on doseage varies so will be interested to see what others have heard! I took it last time after my emergency c-section and it definitely helped me heal faster- have also taken it for any other operations.

xxxx

JennsterFrogLover · 20/06/2007 08:58

Sorry you're not feeling well mfo. Being ill is rotten, but being ill and being heavily pregnant is horrid.

dewmeadow · 20/06/2007 09:06

congrats Weddingcake - omg - 2 babies already!!

Myfairone - hope your tummy bug clears - like MAdmum, I have horrible cold/cough/throat, but thats nowt to a tummy bug!

Didnt realise you meant arnica tablets!! And also didnt know that you got raspberry leaf tablets - thought you had to drink the tea, which I was dreading but totally committed to doing.

Cant remember who it was with the labour tip, but really appreciated as my labours are slow and I know they'll only give me so long to try a VB, but I SOOOO want one

Must apologise for not replying directly to people, but I read teh measages and then INSTANTLY forget who said it or the whole message!!

Hope everyones doing well

Cyee · 20/06/2007 09:24

Congrats Weddingcake and welcome Jamie!!!

Kyte - rescue remedy is great stuff... mainly because it's a tincture of brandy!!!! My mum gave it to me prior to dentists etc when I was small. I have mine packed and can highly recommend it. They also do sprays and creams. My old boss once forced an employee to have some for anxiety, not realising it would disagree with his anti-alcohol implant... oops. For anyone who'd like to take it, but whose taste buds are super sensitive I'd recommend putting it in some cordial. Otherwise a few drops under your tongue is magic.

Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly MFO - not what you need. Hope you feel better soon.

It's weird now to log on here and expect to hear/see more babies arrive. Argh!!! Where has the time gone?

Take care everyone!

Caroline1852 · 20/06/2007 09:27

Pookey - I would not worry too much about the Kym & Aggie programme. Most hospitals seem to have similar problems. I would be vigilant - buy a couple of packs of anti bacterial wipes and wipe down your bedside table, your patientline tv/phone thing, your bed, your new baby's basinette and use the wipes to touch door handles, taps, loo flushes, showers etc. wash your hands lots. Do not let anyone handle your baby unless it is necessary, limit the number of hospital visitors and make sure they all wash their hands. Make sure staff wash their hands. I believe that MRSA exists in the community and population at large (not only in hospitals!) it is just that people in hospitals have open wounds and if they are poorly their ability to fight infection is compromised. Here is a link to an article in the Times in which Dr Thomas Stuttaford discusses hospital hygiene: www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/our_e xperts/article1548317.ece
Not worth worrying about but definitely worth taking precautions!

OMG people on this thread have started dropping - Congrats WeddingCake

MelissaM · 20/06/2007 09:38

Morning all.

Congratulations Weddingcake! Glad you and ds are home and doing well.

Myfairone - sorry to hear your ill. Hope you feel much better soon.

Sorry to hear of other peoples complications too, and the possibility of not getting the births you want. I am sure things will work out for the best in the end.

Sending hugs to all ((()))

Groveregg · 20/06/2007 09:48

Congratulations weddingcake and glad Jamie's home and hope you're coping!

Beyonceen · 20/06/2007 09:58

Wedding cake - COngratulations! you luck thing. We are all still lumbering around very unnatractively. Hope the feeding etc all works out.
Jenster - I'm sure it was 30c and just once a day, under the tongue immediately after labour.
Pookey - That's a pure nightmare! It's all happening at once for you. My friend is a midwife though and says there are degrees of placenta praevia and sometimes a vag delivery is still possible. I have also been scanned every two weeks for size issues but they're not talking about inducing me early. I'm not sure if this is your first pookey but in my experience (this is my third) it's comforting to know that every kind of help you need is at hand in the hospital with potential complications. Hope it all goes well with your dad. x

DivaSkyChick · 20/06/2007 09:58

Congratulations Wedding Cake! Can't wait to read your birth story.

Hugs to you and Jamie!

DivaSkyChick · 20/06/2007 10:06

hey if I did my math right, 70% of us are supposed to run later than our dates. That means up to 19 of us can give birth before or on our due date. Three down!

Who's next?!!

Should we takes bets?

Jamantha · 20/06/2007 11:17

Big congratulations Wedding Cake. And you're not alone, I was telling the midwife on the way into the delivery room that I was sorry if it turned out just to be constipation and I was wasting her time! See you on the PN thread!

marchbunny · 20/06/2007 11:33

Congratulations WeddingCake! So glad you have your little man at home with you. Look forward to hearing more about him.

twoplusone · 20/06/2007 11:52

Congratulations weddingcake..

Glad you are both at home and doing well.

typhoonsmum · 20/06/2007 12:32

Congratulations Weddingcake.

Any tips on how to go into labour earlier. (Not just yet in about 2-3 weeks would be nice) The past two girls in work who have been pregnant have delivered at 37 weeks. That would be nice.

I'll be the last one to deliver. Please promise to not forget about me everyone.

marchbunny · 20/06/2007 12:43

Yes, I am starting to think that a little bit early would be ok! Even just a little walk round the local shops is becoming harder - what with feeling that the baby might 'drop' out any minute, plus needing the loo permanently!

justbeme · 20/06/2007 12:45

Congratulations Weddingcake!!
This is all going to get v confusing - which PN thread do you go on if you give birth in June? the June one ? or July?? and vice versa!

twoplusone · 20/06/2007 12:46

We wont forget you Typhoonsmum...

If we continue at this rate we will have more june babies than july ones

I am becoming when I see people with newborns now, I want to meet mine and hold him.. WOnt be long only a few more weeks for us all..
