June 2019 - The Early Birds

SassehMonsta · 19/09/2018 16:22

Hello there,

A new thread for those who are due in June 2019. The Early bird catches the worm! Or, in my case, the sickness.

Feel free to introduce yourselves and make yourself at home.

I'm Sarah, 28, and currently super-early into my pregnancy at 3+1. This will be my second child, and I have in the past, and currently still do, suffer from HG (severe morning sickness).

So come one, come all, let us start our journey with sticky thoughts! Welcome, to the June 19 bus!

Thanks @MadeInCornwallx3. And it's @LadyM0ndegreen who made the fb group, DM her your email and she can add you

Littlemissamy · 02/10/2018 12:29

@stellarfox I’ve got my booking appt on the 23rd. She’s gonna book me an early scan then so we’ll be telling people after the scan. I’m startibg to get my hopes up now which to me is dangerous territory but I refuse to be miserable and anxious for another 3 weeks!

Azure83 · 02/10/2018 13:00

9th of June here as well!!

Stupid question but how do I DM someone on mn? I'm using the app. And what is the fb group called?

ButtonTum · 02/10/2018 13:02

@Azure83 you can't dm on the app. @LadyM0ndegreen kindly emailed me a link to the FB group but I couldn't seem to get into it through the link. The group is secret so you can't search for it

ButtonTum · 02/10/2018 13:03

@Azure83 also 9th June Smile

Azure83 · 02/10/2018 13:06

@ButtonTum lol so how do you join??

pollykins151 · 02/10/2018 13:15

We'd probably wait j til 12 weeks like last time BUT my in-laws have booked us all on a 2 week holiday in June 2019 🤦🏻‍♀️ feel like we should tell them earlier though if we wait til 12 weeks would still have plenty of time to change dates etc so not sure would make any difference. Thoughts?

may88 · 02/10/2018 13:20

Hello! I'm 5 weeks today and still can't quite believe it - due around 4th June and this is my first pregnancy. I don't have many symptoms, just slightly tender boobs and a really heightened sense of taste and smell?! This is all new and a bit scary if I'm honest, I think I'll feel excited if all is well at the first scan.

Have you guys told family or friends? I've told my mum and think we will tell my husband's family, but I'm wondering if I should share with my closest friends too? I know I would want them to be there for me with good or bad news - if that makes sense? I guess there is no right or wrong way!

mussie · 02/10/2018 13:39

@Azure83 go via the website to DM @LadyM0ndegreen then she can add you

@pollykins151 I guess if they've already booked it, then you may as well wait until 12 weeks! I'm sure they'll be so delighted with the news that they won't mind sorting out the date changes at all

mussie · 02/10/2018 13:41

@ButtonTum try the link again, mine was a bit funny too and I had to click once, log in, go back to the email and click the link again, and then it worked Hmm

fee1234 · 02/10/2018 13:56

@pollykins151 my in laws almost booked us on a two week cruise next June! We had to come up with a crazy excuse, we were just trying at that point and didn't know we conceived.

stellarfox · 02/10/2018 14:28

@pollykins151 oh no how annoying! I think I would probably tell them as they may have a time limit in which they can change the dates! Or can you think of another excuse? What about a wedding of a really good friend? Although might be best just to tell them!

@Littlemissamy I’ve just booked an appointment the day after I’m back from holiday on 25th so two days after yours! 😊 It’s so annoying as she said she had a space this morning which I could have had if I had called earlier! As my last period was in July she said she’s going to refer me for an early scan too yay! Just incase I’m further along than I think. However I’m pretty sure of my dates as I have been temping and tracking with OPKs. It’s really hard not to be excited but I’m really trying not to be. I still have had mild cramps for a number of days now but I hope it’s not a bad sign

LivingOnAPear · 02/10/2018 14:44

Hi everyone. I’m tentatively joining.
I’m due on the 7th June. Have one dd (33 mnths).

Feeling a bit numb about the whole thing as had a mc in May at 5 wks. I’ve just turned 40 and all the info online about pregnancy over 40 is not exactly positive but trying to reassure myself as I know loads of women who have had babies in their 40s including both my grans. Just want to magic this first trimester over.
have a few cramps, dizziness, carb cravings and slight nausea.
And I’m another one for the wide awake in the middle of the night club!

Made the mistake of doing a weeks indicator test yesterday but it came up as 1-2 and should have been 2-3 weeks so that’s made me worry and obsessively google hcg ranges.

mussie · 02/10/2018 14:58

Hey @LivingOnAPear! Welcome. Lots of people have been getting anxious with those tests, you are not alone Smile and isn't the insomnia the worst! I thought pregnancy was meant to make me exhausted, not wide awake Hmm

SassehMonsta · 02/10/2018 15:08

@livingonapear don't get me started. Just took a weeks indicator one and it's on 2-3 weeks still. I thought it would easily be 3+ (I think I'm 5+5!) but I'm also guessing not first morning wee doesn't help. Shitting myself, but now taking DD off to soft play and for dinner. Phew. I told myself I wasn't going to POAS anymore, but apparently my brain vs my worries is a loosing battle.

OP posts:
LivingOnAPear · 02/10/2018 15:21

@SassehMonsta i know what you mean. I vowed not to do it again today but before i know it I'd used a cheapo test which was still really light but darker than the other day.

@mussie hope you are ok. I know a lot of people have light spotting and no pg symptoms at all but it's very hard not to worry.

Wishing all the insomniacs a good night tonight. Was going to put lavender oil on my pillow tonight but apparently it's not advised in the 1st trimester.

Kescilly · 02/10/2018 15:29

@ButtonTum they were happy, but we are all a bit guarded, to be honest. I get my practical side from them, that's for sure.

@pollykins151 I think I'd tell them early because the cancellation fees could go up over time. One of the reasons we told my parents so early is because they want to plan trips together and I knew I might not even be able to visit them for a year.

@LivingOnAPear welcome! Your fears are understandable but I hope everything works out for you this time.

@SassehMonsta I read the instructions on the weeks test and they specifically say to use FMU if you want an accurate weeks indicator. I may have been eyeing one last night! But I waited until this morning like they said to.

Does anyone know anything about early scans and testing? I was thinking about having a scan done around week 8 if we make it that far. But the private companies offer packages with various scans and tests and I wasn't sure what we'd want. I'm 35, so I do worry about trisomies and such as well.

fee1234 · 02/10/2018 15:36

@Kescilly I had an early mc last month and been feeling quite anxious, so my EPU have scheduled me for a scan at 7 weeks. I will probably pay for a private one between then and the 12 week scan because I'm too impatient and I do worry and get anxious quite a bit.

LivingOnAPear · 02/10/2018 15:48

@Kescilly I'm hoping to have an early scan at 8-9 weeks. Where i am the price ranges from £42 to £95 for this.

With my DD i had this at 9 weeks then the nhs scan and combined test at 12-13 weeks and was then happy to wait for the 20 week scan.

The hospital I'm hoping to have scans at this time offers NIPT for free if you are considered high risk after having the combined test So I'm going to leave it until nearer the time to see if I want to wait for combined test results or pay to have it done privately anyway. At the moment I want all the tests possible but I think I will chill out a bit as time goes on. So I think my advice would be to wait and see how you feel as you go rather than paying upfront for a package of lots of scans.

Emma88W · 02/10/2018 16:15

I’ve booked a private scan for 8 +4 just because 12 weeks feels such a long wait! Think it was £79 but at least it will give me peace of mind.

Not sure after that, hopefully I’ll be ok with the 12 and 20 week ones

SassehMonsta · 02/10/2018 16:21

We have booked for a scan at my predicted 8+1. Will see how dates work out then I guess! It's 2 weeks away and time is DRAGGING. It's £50 and we did the same with DD but we miscalculated and at 5+6 there's not much to see. So this time playing it safer with dates!

Then 12 week scan, 20 and then if GD again then there will be every 4 weeks or so after 26 weeks. I can't remember if I posted her previously but I may decline the GTT this time, as DD was only 6lb 8oz full term.

@mussie @livingonapear @mummytomollyandbean @sassehmonsta @fee1234 @hopefulbabydust @pollykins151 seems like there are quite a number of us with insomnia.. I didn't realise it was such a common symptom, strange then that it will go from this to suddenly chronic tiredness!

pemb · 02/10/2018 17:31

Has anybody totally kept pregnancy to themselves ? I've told a few online friends but other than that nobody knows x

Stormwhale · 02/10/2018 17:31

I'm having a lot of cramping this afternoon. I'm trying not to panic, but I'm worried. Anyone else cramping?

Kescilly · 02/10/2018 18:11

I’ve been cramping on and off and I had spotting the day after my BFP. I’m worried, but I also know that I can’t control if it’s a viable pregnancy, so I try to keep that in mind.

Thanks for the info on the early scans everyone! I will go ahead and try to book something around 8 weeks then. I don’t even know what the other tests are so I will hold off on that for now.

I’m not sure what they’ll be able to see because I have a high BMI, but it’s also difficult for me to believe that I’m pregnant after so long. I think I need more proof!
