New thread!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
trendaverter · 12/06/2007 07:52

Yes my Dr mentioned it at 38 weeks!!

I see my bitch MW tomorrow for a sweep, but if that fails I am being induced on the 17th.
Eek not long!

I am getting all sorts of odd pains today but as I have been getting those on and off for about a month now I am not holding my breath.

bumperlicious · 12/06/2007 08:04

Flightattendant is in labour !

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 08:13

How exciting!
am

bumperlicious · 12/06/2007 08:17

Sorry TA!

Right, I'm really tired, think I need to go back to bed. Bet the bloody postman will wake me up though. He came yesterday with a parcel for someone else in our building and said "I thought you'd be in" - cheeky f*cker! We've got an entry phone and he buzzes for ages. Will have to have a word with him about buzzing when the baby is here!

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 08:22

Goodnight Bumper!
Hope you feel a bit better.

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 08:51

Erm
Odd question. Anyone there? I keep getting funny twingy pains in my cervix. What does this mean?

I am not holding my breath for labour as I have been getting these on and off for weeks but they do seem to be a bit more insistent this morning.

daisyboo · 12/06/2007 09:04

ta...i had this for ages, and was told it was probably either the baby engaging further nto the pelvis or the cervix starting to thin out and efface.......this could be the start of things for you with any luck. are you getting any contractions/bhs at all?

one handed typing again sorry....can't manage capitals

daisyboo · 12/06/2007 09:07

bumper......don't forget a fathers day pressie for your dh! (or "not quite" father's day....whichever!)

daisyboo · 12/06/2007 09:21

getting kicked off by DH who needs to do some work...off to grab a shower while LO is sleeping, then I'm going to go..... out to the shops....I've only set foot over the door to go from house to hospital and hospital back to house in the last week, so big adventure all round, both for me and for Emily, who I will try to indoctrinate in the fine art of girly clothes shopping!

later!!

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 09:31

no contractions/bhs

foxybrown · 12/06/2007 09:55

Sorry TA, I've been having them for ages too. BUT I do think something has been happening for ages too.

I firmly believe that with all these niggles things are very slowly relaxing and coming good. The longer the better if you ask me. I think its a lot more bloody painful to happen thick and fast!

Now how's everyone today?

Bumper, I listened to my CD last night, thank you for sending it to me. I did sleep very well (apart from DP waking me up cursing 'cos he couldn't get into bed with the CD player on it and all my cushions etc). Its really odd. I find her voice quite annoying in one way, and I felt quite sick too. But baby was doing backflips. Anyway, it must have worked in some way. I'm going to listed to it today too. Should do it now really as I've not got any children here.

westcoaster · 12/06/2007 10:02

3flights/DG/Tallulah - nice to see the Sweaty Mafia (as my DH calls it) is on MN too! I'm 'down south' now so obviously spend lots of time talking wistfully about the 'blue misty hills of Tiree' when I'm enjoying my English sunshine!! Might do a Glasgow meet up sometime though - will tell the olds I'm coming to see THEM . 3flights - know what you mean about stairs not mixing with babies - my DH worked away when we lived in our flat (2 floors up) and I developed biceps of steel carrying junior/carseat/nappy bag/laptop & handbag back up to the flat every night after work. Sadly those days are long gone and I could probably waft them all up with the draft from my bingo wings now....

foxybrown · 12/06/2007 10:05

sorry 3flights, didn't mean to ignore you... hello and welcome!

BadZelda · 12/06/2007 10:27

Morning ladies - sorry for the queue-jump. Just thought I'd let you know that baby Matilda was born this morning at 7.53 am weighing 7lb 14...labour was pretty quick (delivery 13 minutes after arrival of midwife!) and she was straight onto the breast, so we're all doing well. zx

Congrats BZ!!!

BadZelda · 12/06/2007 10:33

yes not too bad - feel ok now, woke about 3 with the odd pain and it progressed from there. Lucky I have a high pain tolerance as midwives had no pain relief with them - but delivery was so fast it didn't really matter. Probably should nap now but I feel manic!

bumperlicious · 12/06/2007 10:34

Had a lovely sleep then the frickin "gardener" decides to come along with his frickin power strimmer (I say "gardener" because he doesn't seem to "garden" just swings a strimmer around. Oh and btw - it's not as posh as it sounds, we have a communal flat and garden so the maintainence charge that owners pay pays for it!)

Daisy, I've already got DH something, a little babygro that says "I love my daddy" from Blooming marvellous (but I got it from ebay!) and my mum even found me a "father-to-be" card which she bought up on Friday to give to him (I thought that was really sweet and thoughtful at the time but since our argument am wondering if it's all part of her need to be in control or for things to be about her, I mean I would have liked to chose DH's card for him - anyway, enough mother bashing again!)

bumperlicious · 12/06/2007 10:36

OMG BZ, that came out of no where! Congratulations! Well done! No pain relief either! You rock!

foxybrown · 12/06/2007 10:39

BZ! OMG! Blown away by you!

So, homebirth, all well, very quick, manageable????? WOW!
Yep, you rock, that's for sure!!!

Am absolutely blown away - congratulations to you, DH and Ella and baby Matilda!

Lots and lots of love xxxxxxxxxxx

Shit! You had a baby THIS MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Foxy, where are your DCs this morning then?

foxybrown · 12/06/2007 10:54

Boys are at school, DD at nursery. I have two mornings of freedom (technically gym days)!!

westcoaster · 12/06/2007 11:02

BZ - congratulations on your early morning delivery! Am v impressed - no pain relief and very efficient... Matilda is a really lovely name.

Am beginning to wonder if I belong on the June thread - all these one hour/no pain relief labours for women who then jump straight up and put their jeans back on. What is going on!!!!
