Bumper - I hate it when pants dig in! I don't know about you but non of my pants stay up when I'm walking now , and the only way to get comfy when I'm sitting down is to pull em up over my bump!

My bump seems so low now that I don't have room for pants over the front of my fanjo! I am very careful to waer long tops in case I show a bit of pube

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 04/06/2007 22:20

Okay - I'll ask them if they'd rather get something for the baby or me - and if they don't mind - I'll point them in the right direction.

If it was me buying the gift I suppose I'd be chuffed that my gift was useful everyday - and with a changing bag I don't suppose you can leave the house without it?!

bumperlicious · 04/06/2007 22:21

I think that sounds reasonable, if they want to club together to get you a present. Could you have a look at them in person before you decide? You are going to have to cart it around for a while so might as well get one you like!

Check out these sites too here here here and here.

DesperateDerlor · 04/06/2007 22:22

ROFL DKMA the way you say that it sounds like you are just out and about everywhere in your badly fitting pants and a top - i hope this is not so!!

hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 22:23

Ask for the changing bag dkma! It is a good pressie coz you really want it and it is sort of for you and the baby. There are only so many toys and pressies a baby needs, a changing bag is so much more useful. I love taking mine out, I feel like a yummy mummy!

bumperlicious · 04/06/2007 22:33

Yummy mummies of the world unite!

Part of me aspires to be a yummy mummy (I live in a pretty yummy mummy town and our nearest supermarket is waitrose - yummy mummy central!) and make purees and feed my LO rice cakes and houmous (though not before 6 months obviously but part of me wants to be the bad mummy in the corner slugging a glass of wine while the kids watch crap TV with a bag of chocolate buttons!

DesperateDerlor · 04/06/2007 22:34

Bumper you can be a yummy mummy outside and a real mummy inside!!!!! just remember to shut your curtains

hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 22:38

Be in the middle bumper! I am! My dd watches far too much cbeebies and sometimes eats chocolate and sweets, but I only fed her oragnic homemade food for the first year, bfed for ages and NEVER give her froot shoots ! It makes for a well rounded child who knows all the words to every cbeebies theme tune! I am a scummy yummy mummy!!

hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 22:38

Sorry organic!!

DesperateDerlor · 04/06/2007 22:41

right i'm off to bed might try to have some prostaglandins before sleep if DH up for it -
night all xx

hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 22:42

There is someone on here who makes jewellery and sells it all the time. I have made loads of jewellery that I haven't ever got round to selling yet, do you think I should try and sell it on here? I don't want to be treading on this other person's feet!

hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 22:43

Night derlor, hope those prostaglandins work!

bumperlicious · 04/06/2007 22:48

I think if you advertised on here you would have to do it as a "small business" which involves a small charge, but if you do then I think it's fair play really. What sort of jewellery do you make?

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 04/06/2007 22:51

Bumper - Thanks for the links - they ALL look so nice

Delor - Yep I am just existing in badly fitting clothes mostly - but really don't want to buy more now

I just know I'm gonna be a fake yummy mummy - but really a right scum mum!! I live in a village with no shops - just a pub!

AIBU to be planning a summer of G&T's in the beer garden for the majority of my mat leave - while LO is in cot / on mat on grass?

Oh but wait ... opposite the pub is the Polo ground!!!!! I could get frocked up and totter over there and REALLY pretend to yummy mummy it up
Will prob get too pissed in pub before hand and wont be allowed on to polo ground for being too much of a lush

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 04/06/2007 22:52

Night delor

bumperlicious · 04/06/2007 22:53

Btw has anyone else checked out Lulumama's profile page and pictures? I'd never thought to before and just did after reading another thread - she's not at all what I expected and looks so young for her age (in a totally good way - I expected her to be older, the voice of experience and serenity that she is!) - I'm sure you are lurking Lulu just waiting for us to pop - fab piccies (you are beeeuuuutiful!) and I love your jacket! It's very strange when you see people's pics and put names to faces!

bumperlicious · 04/06/2007 22:56

DKMA - that is exactly my maternity leave plan too (substitute G&T for a glass of vino)! And when I tell people who already have kids they just give me this knowing look as if to say "best of luck". I don't care - we'll show them!

Right, DH wants the computer so I'll catch up with you tomorrow when hopefully I'll have some fab news to pass on from Daisy!

riabutterflew · 04/06/2007 23:06

Still not caught up - maybe tomorrow. Good luck for c-sections tomorrow.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 04/06/2007 23:06

Bumper - I am starting to loathe those 'knowing looks' from people who already have kids!

I do have a friend with 2 kids who knows me very well - and she has told me that I will be fine. She is very normal (has a life / hobby / gets drunk etc etc) and has lovely well adjusted kids, her advice has been - to get the kids to fit into your life - not you into their's, and a baby is very portable - you can take them just about any where. So I like her (she tells me what I want to hear), and if it all goes wrong - it's all her fault!!!!

She has already offered to babysit while I go to the gym a few times a week because she knows what I'm like and that it will keep me sane - so I think she's great!

We'll be alright Bumper! If not - Gin / Vino will soften the blow - I'm sure!

I'm off to bed! Night night!!

hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 23:14

Lol at the knowing looks, I remember them!
Night everyone xxx

kittykitt · 05/06/2007 05:47

Help- is anyone around?
Have just had a terrible night having what might be contractions. They're not very close together - about 45 mins-1 hour.
Just been to the loo and bright red blood. Is this a show? I thought it would be more jelly like??
Sorry - i really don't know what i'm looking for and am in a bit of a panic as dh in London and am all alone.
Hope someone is up and able to help
