@BadBadBeans that looks like the brand I had, are they marketed as 10mul hcg?
My cheapies didn't go dark until I was past 5 weeks, they looked pale like that for quite a while, other brands went darker much quicker

Wineandchoccy · 16/07/2018 08:47

BadBadBeans Have you done a frer test?

BadBadBeans · 16/07/2018 08:53

@hamandpease yes! Cassanovum early pregnancy tests from Amazon. I haven't used them before - I used supermarket brands and frers with the previous pregnancies. That is really reassuring to know; thank you.

@Wineandchoccy I was considering ordering some but can't shake the feeling that it would be a waste of money, especially as what I want to see is line progression and I don't want to take a million FRERs! Maybe if I still feel worried by the end of the week I will get one. Or maybe I'll get one today because I have no willpower 😂

hamandpease · 16/07/2018 08:56

@BadBadBeans yeahhhhhhh read the amazon reviews! I panicked too

Go get a FRER and a cheap supermarket test

puravida31 · 16/07/2018 09:03

Oh @kneesupgaston I’m so sorry to hear this, I was thinking of you yesterday - I’m sorry it ended this way. Take care of yourself lovely xx

puravida31 · 16/07/2018 09:09

@Beherenow32 congratulations & welcome! I’m 7 +1 and hardly any sickness so far, only a couple of waves of nausea that went away quite quickly. I’ve been seeing it as lucky and quite grateful for the lack of voming, but I can understand why others question it. Easier said than done but try not to read too much into it, as this forum shows we all seem to have things at different times.

frankiefumbles · 16/07/2018 09:16

@kneesupgaston so sorry to hear it. Been waiting for your update. If you'd like to talk, feel free to tag me on here and send a PM. Red & I have been talking it all through and sometimes it helps to have someone to talk it through with. Much love x

@kneesupgaston I am so sorry to hear your sad news. The plant will be a lovely way to remember xxx Flowers

@puravida31 @hamandpease @BadBadBeans @peonylover22

Thank you for your replies. It’s does help me. I need to just try relax! It’s not what I expected so far anyway!
Hope everything else is going ok for you x

Murphyrocks · 16/07/2018 09:37

Hi @Beherenow32 and congratulations! My nausea started at 4 weeks and sickness at 5 weeks, but it's been pretty extreme this time and for me it started going around 10 weeks with my last pregnancy so think I get it a bit earlier than most.

@BadBadBeans as others have said those tests often take a long time to go dark, particularly as hcg levels vary so much from person to person, I was testing each morning in the early days and some days it even got a bit lighter which freaked me out - I went down to every 2 days which showed a better progression. This is my progression from 3+2 to 5+2 and it still progressed much faster than it did with my last pregnancy. Hope that helps!

@kneesupgaston really sorry to hear your news. I think planting a plant would be a lovely idea, a Rose would be lovely as already suggested. Hope you are ok x

SplishSplashy · 16/07/2018 09:55

Hello!
Got a bfp on Saturday, edd 24th march.
I have a dd age 4. Bit worried about the sickness, had it terribly last time from 6w, so I reckon I've got 10 days of productivity left!! Early scan booked for 3 weeks time.

Murphyrocks · 16/07/2018 09:59

Hi @SplishSplashy, congrats! Yeah I'm the same, I figured the sickness would kick in quite quickly so did all the eating and productivity I could before it hit! Make the most of it!

Wineandchoccy · 16/07/2018 10:00

BadBadBeans I’m not sure whether they are still on offer but frer were £6 for 2 tests in Superdrug

Wineandchoccy · 16/07/2018 10:01

Congratulations Beherenow32 and SplishSplashy

thefirsttimer · 16/07/2018 10:15

@kneesupgaston so sorry to hear your sad news Sad. Take care of yourself - the plant idea is a lovely one, I hope it brings you some comfort xxx

thefirsttimer · 16/07/2018 10:17

@Murphyrocks and @SuperSharpShooter82 glad to see that you both saw heartbeats on your early scans! Please try not to worry too much about the dates, there's still so much variation at this stage I believe! Having said that, mine is later this week and I'm already getting myself in knots about it 😬.

SuperSharpShooter82 · 16/07/2018 10:43

Hi all.

Would like to say I'm feeling better this morning but I'm not. I have booked another scan for next week. My main worry is that the small measurement means the baby is not growing as it should. At least a follow up scan will tell me if it's growing, even if I am a week behind. And if it isn't growing at least I don't have to wait until mid August at the 13 week scan, which seems bloody ages away. Feel pretty shitty about it all and like I'm now on a slippery slope of paying for scans when I should probably just sit tight. Easier said than done! Sad

I'm so sorry to hear your news @KneesupGaston. I think your tribute is lovely xxx ThanksThanksThanks

Welcome to newbies. My sickness comes and goes, yesterday I had none (which made me panic even more over the scan measurement) and today I feel an underlying nausea that I can't seem to curb. Feels like I want to eat but I don't want anything and anything I do eat isn't sitting right!

BadBadBeans · 16/07/2018 10:47

@Murphyrocks thanks for sharing your tests, that does reassure me a bit. My strongest one is a tad fainter than your fourth one down I think, which prob makes sense for how far along you were then? I have ordered another lot of cheapies because I can't see myself being staunch enough to only test every two days. Previously I only tested once a week (!!!!) but following the miscarriage I just can't sit on my hands that long.

Welcome @SplishySplashy and congrats!

@Wineandchoccy thank you for the top tip! I live in the middle of nowhere unfortunately, and our local town's Superdrug doesn't stock FRERs, or at least didn't the last time I looked! I'm going to check the village pharmacy, and if they don't have any then I'll do it on Amazon and wait.

I feel like I'm going to go mad waiting to see if this pregnancy is going to make it past the first trimester!

BadBadBeans · 16/07/2018 10:49

@SuperSharpShooter82 if you can afford it and it puts your mind at rest, then I can't see any reason to feel bad about having another scan. Waiting till 13 weeks with a question mark hovering would be v hard. Are you going to be scanned by the same person? That might help in terms of consistency of how the measurements are taken. The most likely scenario is that it will show growth and then you will be able to relax a bit. x

Murphyrocks · 16/07/2018 10:58

@SuperSharpShooter82 I'm so sorry you're still feeling vulnerable with your pregnancy, the first trimester is such a scary time any little thing can make us worry. Hope the scan next week gives you some much needed reassurance. I've got mine next Wednesday too, when's yours?

@BadBadBeans glad my tests gave you a little reassurance too, they didn't really get much darker until about 5 weeks, which coincided with my sickness really kicking in. I know keeping the faith is difficult, particularly after a loss, lots of us here have had them, not much we can do though unfortunately other than take care of ourselves as best we can and hope for the best!

SuperSharpShooter82 · 16/07/2018 11:03

It's at a different place @BadBadBeans simply as the one I went to yesterday couldn't do any dates that worked. It's actually the place I had my scans last pregnancy so I have been there before.

It's booked for Tuesday morning @Murphyrocks. Before work. Hoping this isn't a stupid move as if something is wrong there is no way I will be going in to the office!

hamandpease · 16/07/2018 11:10

For those of you who haven't told everyone when are you planning to?

We have a 8w scan booked this Friday after which we'll tell close family (but will be a week later by the time we see them)

I was planning on telling everyone else after the 12w scan (even if my appointment if 11w+x) but I'm not too sure thinking about it

What have you guys done for previous pregnancies? Will the sonography eve able to tell us it all looks ok on the spot (I.e. heartbeat bpm & nuchal measurement)

If they don't look ok who tells us? Also the blood test to accompany the nuchal scan takes 2 weeks to come back- should I wait until after this has come back?

peonylover22 · 16/07/2018 11:11

@SuperSharpShooter82 do go for another scan if you think it will help you to feel more relaxed. If you decide to get Harmony / Panaroma test, I think there’s another scan at the time of the test.
Anyone got any cravings? Mine is grapefruit! I had a really nice one on the weekend and now I really want some more. Turns out it’s a really good thing to eat whilst pregnant link here Who knew?!
Am I the only one who has only done one pregnancy test? And where were you when you all got your BFPs? I was in the arrivals toilets at Gatwick Airport- I was a day late and couldn’t wait any longer to take a test!

Bluebelltulip · 16/07/2018 11:21

@hamandpease last time I told parents at ~8 weeks and others after scan at 12 weeks and plan to do the same this time too. I didnt have the nucheal measurement and blood test so can't speak for that but I was told that everything looked ok there and then.

@Peonylover22 I've only done one at 3wks4days (LMP) but short cycle so I suspect I was further than that seeing others doing more makes me wonder if I should but I didn't last time.
