@frankiefumbles big hug. I really do hope it is a false alarm, lovely. If it isn't, we will miss you hugely- you've had such a big impact in such a short time.

Welcome to the new people! Am losing track there are so many of us!

Jenlou1992 · 13/07/2018 08:36

HidCat thanks. When did you find out ? I found out a couple of days ago . I was actually on the yasmin contraceptive . Initially for gynae problems I have ?PCOS . However me and my partner altho shocked are getting quite excited . Just hope all goes well . X

WildFlower2018 · 13/07/2018 08:41

Welcome to all the newcomers! And congratulations 🎉 🎈

HidCat · 13/07/2018 09:28

@Jenlou1992 I found out Tuesday of last week, we were trying so tested early. Feels like it's dragging but I know it's not really, it's just in my mind constantly!

Feeling very tired now, woke up at 4.30am for no apparent reason and have been up ever since. Work is going to be a struggle today....

Bozley47 · 13/07/2018 09:37

Morning ladies. Had my second scan this morning and baby has grown and heartbeat was pounding away so all looking good. So so pleased! Just rang my gp who is doing me a prescription for antisickness for just in case as I am working horrible shifts all weekend and feeling pretty rotten. Congratulations to all the newcomers xx

Murphyrocks · 13/07/2018 09:48

@Bozley47 that's wonderful news congratulations! Mines in a couple of hours. So jealous of the anti-sickness meds - despite being signed off work with morning sickness my GP was reluctant to prescribe anything and just have me the normal advice instead!

peonylover22 · 13/07/2018 09:59

Congratulations @Bozley47 🎉🎉🎉 What was the baby measuring as? And what is your new EDD?

Good luck for your scan @MurphyRocks

I hope you both feel less sick soon x

Orville82 · 13/07/2018 10:02

Welcome @Jenlou1992. I’m due around the same time as you with an EDD (estimated due date) of the 13th. I’m lucky in that I’m not suffering with morning sickness yet, but if it’s anything like last time I’ve only got another couple of days grace. I agree that basically surviving off multiple snacks of whatever you fancy rather than full meals is the way forward.

I’m 36. So does this mean I’ll be under extra care? I’ve kind of stuck my head in the sand as I don’t feel “old”. Waaaah!

Wineandchoccy · 13/07/2018 10:14

My diet has gone rubbish just had hula hoops and a baby bel cheese and resisting the urge to go and get something else I’m sooooo hungry Blush Working from home is no good I need a lock on the kitchen Grin

pushit · 13/07/2018 10:16

I think that you need to be under consultant if you're high risk... and high risk means two or more factors (or something big like diabetes)
The two factors can include being over 35, first baby, high bmi, low bmi etc so I think if you're over 35 but 2nd baby you aren't considered high risk. But don't quote me on it!!!

Wineandchoccy · 13/07/2018 10:31

Ah that’s good but to be honest I suppose extra checks are a good thing

Murphyrocks · 13/07/2018 10:35

@Wineandchoccy if it makes you feel any better my Dr told me to pretty much ignore everything I knew about healthy eating because of my morning sickness and just survive off simple carbs and sugar, easiest to digest so minimising sickness and your body will be fine for a bit. Recommended white bread, biscuits and chocolate 😂

RachaelT · 13/07/2018 10:37

My calendar is starting to fill up with appointments, just got my gyn referral through the post and had to rearrange as it's when DH, bean and I are in Paris for our first wedding anniversary.

Wondering how many "time off for medical appointments" my boss will let go through before sitting me down to find out whats going on - we've worked together for approx 5 years and as a work team we frequently describe ourselves as a family as we're all close.

Wineandchoccy · 13/07/2018 10:48

Murphyrocks I like your Dr Grin

ladycarlotta · 13/07/2018 10:54

Welcome JenLou92! Your symptoms sound pretty normal - it kind of sucks but hey, there's a baby in there! Congrats!

So pleased for you @Bozley47, and good luck @MurphyRocks. I also had my scan this morning - I was a bit over-enthusiastic with the water and had a VERY full bladder by the time I went in, which made it rather uncomfortable. Learn from my mistake!

Anyway, besides that everybody was lovely; I realised when we got in there how traumatised I was after my last scan, which took place while I was bleeding from a miscarriage with an incredibly unpleasant radiologist. I was actually shaking a bit, but this radiologist was so lovely and kind, and talked me through everything. She didn't have to do an internal scan; we saw a lovely heartbeat and she said everything looked good. Baby measures 6+2 although I am 6+6, but she said they give 5 days leeway either way, and it wasn't anything to worry about.

I'm chuffed and relieved, and quite emotional. I was so ready for there to be no heartbeat. We got a picture but it is honestly the vaguest thing in the world.

Murphyrocks · 13/07/2018 10:55

@Wineandchoccy least she could do given she wouldn't prescribe me anti-sickness meds!

Jenlou1992 · 13/07/2018 10:55

HidCat aww no . Nothing worst going to work when you are tired . Hope it's not too bad for you .

Orville82 snacks as and when sound good to me . I am constantly reading about what to eat and drink and what to avoid. Read something about only have 2 cups of coffee a day !!!! I'm on my first as we speak.

I just know I am going to be over cautious with this being my first pregnancy. I already want to start a scrap book but it's very early days .

Do i now make an appointment with my GP ?

X

Murphyrocks · 13/07/2018 10:57

@ladycarlotta that's wonderful news congratulations! Drinking the fluids was definitely the hardest thing I've done in a while given how sick drinking makes me at the moment and couldn't manage the full requirement so hope that won't impact anything 😔 Will let you know how it goes...

ladycarlotta · 13/07/2018 11:34

@Murphyrocks I think as long as there's something in your bladder it's fine. I think they just want it clearly defined so they can spot the bean easily. Hope it goes well for you!

ErikaSt · 13/07/2018 11:35

@jenlou1982 I’m hoping the shooting pains in the boobs are normal, mine hurt everyday - worse at the end of the day, and so heavy!

@wineandchoccy I’m hungry all the time too! Can’t believe just how much! Apparently you shouldn’t diet when pregnant and just go with it... so what’s a girl to do 🤷🏼‍♀️ I feel like the hungry caterpillar atm!

@orville82 I’m nearly 35 and still 28 in my head! I forget I’m ‘old’ too! 😄

HidCat · 13/07/2018 11:39

@Bozley47 that's great news! I bet you're so relieved!

@Murphyrocks hope it's all been ok.

hamandpease · 13/07/2018 11:49

Just had my booking in appointment

A little underwhelming if I'm honest, found it very impersonal and rushed but sort of expected that

I didn't expect proper judgey pants from her when I said my current thinking is that I'd like an ELCS, even when explaining the (clinical) reasoning why Hmm

Has made me very keen for my private scan next week on Friday

Velcro88 · 13/07/2018 12:11

@ladycarlotta @Bozley47 congrats on your successful scans! That's such great news and must feel... so many things! Fantastic. Yay!

I had my pre-booking group appt this morning 🙄 at which they booked my booking appt for the 7th August and gave me a sample pot. Felt a bit of a waste of time honestly, but they told us about some immunisation we can have (one for whooping cough after 20 weeks) and I started to well up when they explained that some of the antibodies cross the placenta to bean. I'm so emotional! Anyway. Hopefully I'll get my scan date through the post soon. Bring it on!

I feel so utterly pants today. Wretching over the toilet bowl again this morning but nothing really coming up. I'm just so tired! Slept through fine last night, especially with it a bit dull outside this morning, but it was still a drag to get out of bed!

ladycarlotta · 13/07/2018 12:26

@Velcro88 yeah I found my pre-booking-in session a whole load of nothing, although I guess just having the paperwork and knowing broadly what to do before booking in was useful. I'd kind of hoped to chat to a few of the other pregnant people there, but everybody just stared at their shoes and left in haste. It was super awkward!

thefirsttimer · 13/07/2018 12:38

@Bozley47 and @ladycarlotta wonderful news, congratulations to you both!

@Murphyrocks good luck for yours later!
