Part 3 already! And there is a split in the group. Hopefully everyone joins on this one. Shall we try and get a list of due dates going? I'm also interested to know where people live if they'd like to share. Not sure what other info would be needed. Also if anyone wants to join the fb group let me know.

Every morning I have a bowl of chia seeds and porridge with several prunes. That plus loads of water keeps things moving pretty well. Appreciate not everyone is going to be able to stomach that though. They're good in smoothies or yoghurt or even juice.

FrowningFlamingo · 13/07/2018 10:59

I am so so sorry for those of you who have had bad news Sad Flowers

I felt horrifically sick yesterday but almost nothing today. Seems very variable.
My lovely, lovely GP friend came for dinner last night and brought a Doppler with her. With much emphasis that she might not be able to find anything at this stage she managed to have a listen in and we were able to hear the heartbeat again. Has put my mind at rest for now and we are having NIPT in 2 weeks so not long until we get another look!

jeanzbeanz · 13/07/2018 11:57

For anyone who is interested in getting anti nausea meds - I have been getting on well with cyclizine. I've been taking it since Monday afternoon. My stomach feels so much more settled than it did and I'm only heaving when I first get up now, instead of every couple of hours!

I'm taking two tablets a day which seems to be enough - one when I first get up (at 11ish!!) and one at about 5pm. I am finding I get a bit nauseated before I go to bed (11ish) but haven't yet actually been sick in the evening. I could try three tablets a day instead but the Dr did say take as little as you need, so I'm sticking with two.

I did have a really bad day on Wednesday - although I was only sick once, I felt really sick all afternoon. I'm not sure if this is because I did have a slightly intense morning (I drove a car! And did some packing up at our building site of a house), or whether it was because I'd taken my seabands off, or whether it was just a coincidence? Either way, I'm keeping the seabands on for now, and trying to avoid any kind of physical activity where possible! (and yes, I realise I'm very lucky that I can do that - living with parents and not working has distinct advantages!)

TLDR; Cyclizine along with lots of sleep and as little activity as possible seems to be keeping my nausea at bay. Anyone who is really struggling with sickness should speak to their Dr and see if they can get something prescribed to minimise the suffering.

jeanzbeanz · 13/07/2018 11:58

Sorry, that was quite the essay, didn't realise quite how long it was!

twiglet · 13/07/2018 12:17

Angry my Dr is still refusing cyclizine as I'm not physically sick despite the fact I've explained I'm wretching lots and the neasea is constant! Apparently because Ive still been able to eat little and often it doesn't seem to matter that I feel like crap and struggle to function!
I've always hated my GPs they aren't very helpful and I have no choice it's the only one in my town the other surgery 10 miles away won't take me Sad

hayley013 · 13/07/2018 12:38

@twiglet I would just say you're not able to eat anything, if you think it would help you out more than not, I'd just lay it on thick xx

Notquiteagandt · 13/07/2018 12:54

@twiglet So far I have tried cyclizine, metoclopramide, & prochloroerazine. They dont actually stop you feeling sick. They just stop you from physically being sick and wretching. So if you are not actually throwing up. Maybe thats why they are reluctant to perscribe them.

I would speak to them coming from a mental health angle say how its making you stressed etc and lay it on thick.

🤞 they help you out.

Hear you though on it ruining your quality of life. For me someone who rarely goes the DR thats been the hardest thing for me. The lack of understanding and sympathy.

But the only thing getting me through this is the thought it is only tempory. Flowers

jeanzbeanz · 13/07/2018 13:10

@twiglet That sounds a bit unreasonable tbh. Is there another doctor you can speak to at the same practice? I was pleasantly surprised how readily the doctor gave it to me. He did say "I don't want to be unkind but this is relatively mild morning sickness (!) as you are able to keep most of your food and liquid intake down", but said he was satisfied I'd tried all other options (ginger, seabands etc) and cyclizine would be the next thing to try.

@Notquiteagandt Cyclizine has definitely reduced my nausea as well as actual retching. My stomach was almost constantly churning, but now it's much more settled, and I've had a few hours of not feeling sick 😊
I realise I might just be one of the lucky ones who it has worked on - my sister took cyclizine when she was pregnant and it stopped her throwing up but didn't reduce the nausea.

Notquiteagandt · 13/07/2018 13:18

@jeanzbeanz It is werid for me the Cyclizine injections worked (mainly by knocking me out!) And stopped 75% of the nausea and made me feel semi human again. But the tablet version didnt even touch the sides.

metoclopramide, & prochloroerazine also not worked.

I am begining to run out of options. So if anyone has anymore tablet reccomendations please do shout out!

@twiglet Just a thought are they monitoring your fluid levels and weight? As if either of this drop thats a good arguement for a perscription also.

hayleyfx · 13/07/2018 13:32

@jeanzbeanz @hayley013 I’m glad I’m not the only one, hair just seems to be growing everywhere 🙈

@Notquiteagandt I hope it doesn’t get too bad for you!

I had a very classy moment this morning, vomited into a Tesco bag while walking through town 🤣

Notquiteagandt · 13/07/2018 13:37

@hayleyfx I wouldnt worry about it. When I was well enough to venture out. I was sick in a restaurant, supermarket, a carpark, side of a main road. And had to carry one of those cardboard sick bowls in my bag around. Little did I know it would only get worse 😂 zero dignaty left now. But it was reassuring how nice people where. People are more understanding than you realise so I wouldnt worry too much.

Wames90 · 13/07/2018 13:45

@jeanzbeanz I’m glad the cyclizine is working wonders for you! Just be careful of the dosage because you should be leaving them 8 hours between each dose as it’s a 3 times a day prescription x

jeanzbeanz · 13/07/2018 16:01

@Wames90 thanks for the concern. I specifically asked my doctor what times I should take the pills and he said it didn't matter. He told me not to read the leaflet that came with them either, as it was all largely irrelevant!

jeanzbeanz · 13/07/2018 16:02

@Notquiteagandt your morning sickness is on a whole different level to mine. I don't know how you keep going. Respect!

UndercoverLauren · 13/07/2018 16:16

When my sister was pregnant she had no hair growth on her face for the whole pregnancy. I'm a bit jealous.

craftymum01 · 13/07/2018 16:16

So I was over reacting about my lack of symptoms. Lovely heartbeat seen today. Can relax again for a little bit

Yakadee · 13/07/2018 16:40

@craftymum01 - lovely little squidgy there! X

Eyedontknow · 13/07/2018 16:44

Well into thread 3 already! It's been a rough few weeks for me, getting sick loads and nausea. I've noticed it's worse when I am tired/when I first wake up. So even napping makes me feel ill. Confused

I got results from urine test that say I have strep B, anyone else been through that? Makes me nervous because I'm allergic to the antibiotics they recommend during labour.

Leonora94 · 13/07/2018 16:47

@craftymum01 looks like a proper little baby! ♥️

hayleyfx · 13/07/2018 16:55

@Notquiteagandt thanks. It was pretty embarrassing but at the same time I felt so sick that I didn’t care haha 🙈 I’m 10+3 now so it might be reaching it’s peak!

@craftymum01 massive congrats. How lovely 😊

Notquiteagandt · 13/07/2018 17:01

I have just ordered some of these 😂🙈

Feeling optimystic I can finally get out the house some time soon....

I might also put a sign on saying. Im pregnant leave me alone 😂😂😂

@craftymum01 congrats. And just goes to show
You don't need to have symptoms
To have a healthy baby xx

jeanzbeanz · 13/07/2018 17:13

Oh and to the hairy ones out there - I'm also convinced my nails are growing super fast?

craftymum01 · 13/07/2018 17:15

To true @Alicejj8x!
Thanks everyone, feel so much calmer today. Though I do now feel bad for being jealous of everyone suffering so much with nausea. Hopefully it will start to pass for everyone and we can all enjoy the 'glow' of the second trimester!

Notquiteagandt · 13/07/2018 17:18

@craftymum01

Lovely scan. How far are you. Looks so clear.

Think I already have a glow. Its called sweat from hot flashes hahaha. Is anyone else suffering with these??
