Good luck miniandme! You are very brave. I could never run 5k even when not pregnant, might just be able to walk it though. Best to take it easy and be on the safe side, although I do remember the lovely Charlie Brooks (Janine from Eastenders) running the London Marathon, and then finding out she was pregnant afterwards. Imagine all that training etc when in early pg! Uggh.

beansprout · 03/06/2007 08:54

Miniandme - good luck! And congrats to Slacker on reaching 5 weeks. Each week is going to feel like a real relief I think.

Have woken up this morning and my head has decided to start freaking out about my lack of symptoms. I'm still only 5+1 so it is ridiculously early days. Argh! Will go to the park and try to talk myself down!

Egg · 03/06/2007 09:06

Beansprout I am with you on that. I was worried when I was having those period type pains, but now I am not I am worried that they have gone... If I squeeze my nipples hard enough they are sore though !!!

leesmum · 03/06/2007 12:16

has anyone else been feeling very sick? i keep getting this everyday from 12-5pm and also been having really freaky dreams. It's strange because i had nothing with ds1, no sickness not even sore boobs, so this is all new to me but tbh i'd have it everyday for nine months if it means keeping this bud.

Egg · 03/06/2007 12:32

Ugh that reminds me about a freaky dream I had last night, I was being amorous with our builder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is not attractive, and I am happily married .

I do feel a bit sick, esp late afternoon about 4ish. I read my pregnancy journal from last time and apparently (had forgotten) that I did with DS too. Just keep eating, it helps me!!!

beansprout · 03/06/2007 12:48

No sickness here but I quite like Egg's idea of creating our own symptoms. Suggestion number one: eat too much chocolate this afternoon, so you start to feel sick

beansprout · 03/06/2007 12:48

Egg - I had an amorous dream about Andrew Marr after watching his programme last week. Not nice. Dh was not too impressed either!

DearBeatrice · 03/06/2007 13:00

hi girls, hallo to the newcomers - welcome and for anyone who's left us - wishing you good luck in the very near future.

egg & beansprout, i hope your randy dreams start to feature the men you'd like to see 'more' of rather than andrew marr etc. i've had no naughty dreams yet, just odd ones, like one of our fish from the pond eating another and wearing the other fish body on it's head ??! (v weird and a bit bleugh i know)

just to say i've had v few period pains after big aches and gripes last week - the odd sensation, but i was worried too when it stopped

feeling very hot all the time, burpy and 'empty' v quickly if it's been a while since i ate. eating v regularly seems to keep it at bay so far but other than that, just hoping all is continuing as it should.

haven't been to the gym since before i got my bfp, and a gp i saw to register made me worried about doing anything other than swim. in fairness he was semi-retired and (!) a man. going to see regular female gp 2mrrow to get reassurance that i can run or step etc. and to know which exercies are safe.

the male gp told me that in view of it having taken a year (!) at my age (32!) and having had a dvt i should quit the gym altogether!! hmm am sceptical [sceptical]

Egg · 03/06/2007 13:27

Arrrgh Andrew Marr looks like my old boss. My builder is certainly better than him !

Hello DearBeatrice, nice to see you back again, you have been quiet for a few days (prob have something better to do, unlike me who spends most of my "spare" time on the computer). Glad you are feeling similar to me, ie period pains now disappeared. I also feel a bit burpy too.

Beansprout, I was suggesting that continuous eating keeps the "morning sickness" at bay , not that it gives you sickness. Although it does, of course, if you eat too much.

As for exercise, I got on my exercise bike regularly (4 times a week) up until the day I gave birth last time, and hope to do the same this time, although admittedly today was the first time I have been on the bike for 10 days (oops). From what I have heard, you shouldn't start a new exercise (although am sure gentle swimming etc is ok) but it is perfectly safe to continue with any exercise you are doing. If that makes sense. I did ask my GP about the exercise bike last time and she said as long as it felt comfortable it was fine. I just sit there having a leisurely ride whilst reading a book (not exactly pushing myself but better than nothing). Also I walk quite a lot now, so hope that will help me.

Sorry so long .

beansprout · 03/06/2007 13:35

I was just following up on your idea of tweaking your nips to give yourself sore breast and bingo! Pregnancy symptom!! Was going to similarly eat myself into the sickness-that-has-not-yet-started.

Am having terrible mood swings - can I blame hormones for this please?

Egg · 03/06/2007 13:38

Oh yes, forgot I was manically tweaking... . Of course you can blame mood swings on pregnancy .

miniandme · 03/06/2007 13:56

Well im home!!! Done the race for life in 53 minutes,5k in that time for someone who done no training and doesnt walk the length of herself im pretty proud of me
Feel even prouder knowing i carried my little bean round with me !

Egg · 03/06/2007 14:06

Wow! Back already. Congratulations. That's a great time as well. You can tell the little one when they are older that they took part in the Race for Life .

rozzyraspberry · 03/06/2007 15:39

Hi everyone.

Saw my mum and dad today for the first time since BFP. Really hard not to tell them - I told them straightaway the last 2 times but really want to try to wait until 12 weeks before telling anyone this time. Don't know if I'll last another 8 weeks though!

Is anyone else tempted to do more pregnancy tests? I keep getting drawn to them in shops - I think I just want to check the line is still there! Have managed to resist so far. Don't want to waste any money with no.3 on way.

beansprout · 03/06/2007 16:05

I feel like testing too sometimes, esp as I don't have any symptoms. Took us a year to conceive so I have a pile of cheap tests but does feel a bit silly to keep checking! Could cheerfully pop in the Tardis and travel to a nice 12 week scan with me and dh looking at a blurry baby on screen.

Well done mini - am impressed!

Egg · 03/06/2007 18:21

I am sure I will use my second test one day soon. Even just to make me at the result. I seem to be hungry every half hour today.

DearBeatrice · 03/06/2007 19:52

well done miniandme - feel incredibly guilty about hanging back from gym now

i did a second test two days after first but nothing since; actually got near chemist but turned round and drove home - am working on basis that if I don't get any bleeding all is okay, and just hoping nothing sinister afoot.

i must read properly and see which of you ladies have already had babies - although i guess new symptoms could still bite you on the bum hey?

living near to a nhs hosp with a bit of a dodgy reputation (including on mumsnet) i've been researching private wings/birth centres. i was chuffed when the lady i spoke to at queen charlottes congratulated me. my first non-family congratulations - ooh apart from on here of course; not sure if will go with that or not, but keeping options open

rozzyraspberry · 03/06/2007 20:17

Should we do a headcount - not sure how to do this but will add my details and everyone else can add theirs (I think?)

Hey ladies, The Who were fab, had a lovely time, weather was perfect. Have i missed something... is beansprout having twins? Found it quite hard to catch up with thread! On subject of symptoms, my boobs hurt like mad and are getting bigger and bigger - I look like I've had a boob job! My boobs really are HUGE!! DD2 said they look like water bombs (to which DH rather sheepishly said 'i rather like them'! - i assume he meant my boobs, not water bombs). Am actully thinking about going to doctors as bump is growing visibly, I know I have a fibroid which makes a difference but wondering now whether I could be further on than i thought. BTW i did four pregnancy tests!

rozzyraspberry · 03/06/2007 20:32

Beansprout - I am so sorry about what I started re the twins!! No beansprouts not having twins I was just having a bit of silly confused moment.

rozzyraspberry · 03/06/2007 20:37

Yes - baby brain - I can blame this for all my stupidness once again!!!

flamingnora · 03/06/2007 20:47

Hi All!
I'm seeing my doctor on Wednesday, but am 5 weeks. I never thought it would be possible to be this excited AND terrified at the same time. Oh, and I definitely have baby-brain - very nearly left my credit card in a petrol station today - what an eejit! Also really can't believe how fat I feel!
