New thread for those ladies due in February 2019. As there is so many of us though we could do with a roll call. If I start hopefully the next can cut and paste and we can have a list of everyone!

@babybeany I'm probably the same in bed before 9 as I'm exhausted usually wake up around 1am and again around 3.30/4am then alarm goes off at 6 😴

FH14 · 22/06/2018 08:00

FH14. Age 25. Two skids. EDD 18th Feb.

AliceRR · 22/06/2018 08:20

@babybeany I’ve slept well the last two nights. Im exhausted and in bed early and sleep through although I have had backache some nights and that’s made me a bit uncomfortable.

HannahLucy · 22/06/2018 08:33

Hi All

I got my BFP yesterday. 15dpo, EDD 27th Feb. Age 37. 1st time round. Freaking out! Can’t sleep or concentrate!

I’ve not been using this board while tcc....how do these antenatal clubs work?

Babybeany · 22/06/2018 08:33

@twiglet same here. I’m not sure what is waking me up, needing a wee maybe... I am trying not to have my afternoon naps in case this is having an effect on my night time sleep.
@AliceRR hopefully I will start to get into a better routine. I wondered if it was lack of alcohol! 🤭 x

bubblybrit · 22/06/2018 08:34

@Babybeany. I’ve been in bed for 9 for the past few nights. Although been up 2-3 times to go the toilet. I’m also really uncomfortable as feel full up all the time. Even eating a slice of toast makes me feel as if I’ve had a 5 course meal!!

Babybeany · 22/06/2018 08:53

@bubblybrit I had some toast last night as I had a peckish moment, it made me feel awful! Toast isn’t for me at the mo! 🤢 I have been having granola with yoghurt for breakfast and that seems to go down well, a bit like bird seed mind! 🤣

Yakadee · 22/06/2018 09:10

@Babybeany - that's so funny. Toast is defo my safe food. I can't eat yoghurt anymore 🤢

Alicejj8x · 22/06/2018 09:14

@Babybeany 100% we have to think positive thoughts even thou deep down we're like oh man hope it's ok lol but for the sake of others defo think positive.
Xxx

Alicejj8x · 22/06/2018 09:15

I'm with you on waking up in the night either for a wee or just waking up and finding it hard to get back to sleep

hayleyfx · 22/06/2018 09:44

@Babybeany me too, I really don’t like toast right now. The thought of eating it is enough to make me gag haha. So strange 😬 & I’m the same with waking up in the night, I swear I constantly need to pee haha!

Got my booking in appointment with the midwife on Monday. I like having these appointments because they make it seem more real haha!

Coffeeaholic · 22/06/2018 10:00

Hi, Coffeeaholic (or at least was when i signed up to mumsnet at 4+3)- currently 7+3 and defo not any more Wink
EDD 5/2/18.

This is my first (I'm 32) and I've just rang the GP to make an appointment- predictable they have none for weeks and have told me to look at which birth website and choose the hospital i want to register with directly.

Firstly, is this usual? I have no medical reason why i would need to see a gp and am otherwise well. I'm very happy to register with the midwives directly but i have no idea what to look for in a birthing hospital. my local one has been closed down, so none of them are particularly close. i'm london based and am not aware of any terrible reputations, but can't say i know many people who have given birth in any of them. Added to which, i can't ask my mates as i'm too early to want to tell them (waiting til 12 wks!)

Does anyone have any advice please? Thank you!

ronniemipperton · 22/06/2018 10:57

@Coffeeaholic welcome and congrats! I don’t really have any advice, but it does sound usual. I called my GP surgery and was told to call a number which had an automated message telling me to self-refer online - all a bit weird but it’s worked fine and I’ve had details of my scan and booking appointment by text.

I had the choice of Lewisham and Greenwich hospitals and tbh I have heard some horror stories about Lewisham - but I’ve also heard some positive things and it’s much more convenient for me. I figured I’d go with Lewisham and change later if that felt necessary.

AliceRR · 22/06/2018 11:11

Having said that I’ve slept well the last two nights, I am absolutely exhausted. Not feeling too sick / queasy today so far but feel like I have no energy and work is a struggle...

HannahLucy · 22/06/2018 11:16

I’m in London and was told the same thing. They said part of the process would be seeing the GP later down the line but the process starts with a self referral to the hospital. My GP said it was a recent change.

I have a choice between Kings and Lewisham...

jeanzbeanz · 22/06/2018 11:21

I had my midwife appointment this morning! Wasn't really what I expected, just lots of forms to fill in, a wee sample and she took vampirish amounts of blood. And told me that I am 8 wks and due early Jan, even though my scan last week said I was less than 6. Not sure what to think now?!

ronniemipperton · 22/06/2018 11:54

Just had my early scan - I’m a bit earlier than I thought (6+4) but all looks good so far! Amazing to see the heartbeat, I got a bit emotional about it Blush

@ronniemipperton Aww, congrats, so lovely!!

Bluelagoon25 · 22/06/2018 12:47

@ronniemipperton amazing scan picture! Smile

I have mine on Tuesday, super excited and hope it makes it more real seeing the little bean x

Bluelagoon25 · 22/06/2018 12:51

@Babybeany I have just made a batch of these granola bars which are great to have in the fridge for a snack. Not many ingredients either!

twiglet · 22/06/2018 12:52

@jeanzbeanz I wouldn't worry I was also told Jan (late) yesterday but when I queried it with the midwife she said that until your dating scan it's an unknown really and can be several weeks either way!

Alicejj8x · 22/06/2018 12:53

@ronniemipperton congrats lovely :) x

Egbeds · 22/06/2018 13:06

@ronniemipperton congrats! Can't believe how much you can see on such an early scan. Stupid question to follow - is the round white circle just the head, or the whole thing?

ronniemipperton · 22/06/2018 13:22

Thanks @clairehr @Bluelagoon25 @Alicejj8x @Egbeds!

@Egbeds not a stupid question at all, I had no idea what I was looking at until she explained - and I’m not sure I fully absorbed it but I think the round circle is the yolk sac and the foetus is the blobby bit underneath. I think the yolk sac starts shrinking once the baby has taken what it needs but it’s still pretty important at this stage.

Also DH has just told me about this - African frogs used to be used as pregnancy tests Shock www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/doctors-used-to-use-live-african-frogs-as-pregnancy-tests-64279275/
