New thread for those ladies due in February 2019. As there is so many of us though we could do with a roll call. If I start hopefully the next can cut and paste and we can have a list of everyone!

TMI alert bug is anyone else experiencing diarrhoea? I can’t see to eat anything without needing the loo an hour later. Trying to keep my water intake up but it’s starting to frustrate me as I’m nervous to leave the housr

clairehr · 29/06/2018 07:23

@craftymum01 Yes! Since I got my BFP I've been struggling with diarrhoea. But I've also had a fever so I think it's probably all linked.

fizzledays · 29/06/2018 07:40

@craftymum01 I have an upset stomach every other day or so - sometimes pretty bad! It was worse at the 5 week mark. I spoke to MW about it and she said as long as you keep drinking plenty don't worry too much. If it goes on more than a few days I'd call yours and see what she advises!

craftymum01 · 29/06/2018 08:10

Yeah I think I will. I've not been eating very well this week so it may also be my body's way of telling me to pack it in! Going for a simple diet today and see if that helps. Thanks ladies

kahstorm · 29/06/2018 08:48

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It has put me at ease a little! I just wish the spotting would stop but my midwife said it could be down to my clotting disorder. I also had two very large cysts on my ovaries which I didn't know about! It's my best friends wedding this weekend so I have lots to keep me busy and take my mind of it all. X

LookingAtTheStars89 · 29/06/2018 09:13

I have suffered with the big D too, since pretty much getting my bfp Confused It's not quite as bad now though. Is anyone else feeling nauseated all the time but not actually being sick? I keep running off to the loo but when I get there nothing happens!

I have my midwife appointment in two hours time. The first appointment is always so long winded! I'm a bit chunky so I'll probably get it in the ear about that!

@bubblybrit How are you doing?

clairehr · 29/06/2018 09:30

@LookingattheStars89 Yep, the nausea is horrendous at the moment, but all I seem to do is dry heave! I still think I'd rather that than be sick though. I've found that crumpets seem to have helped the last couple of days.

maxiflump1 · 29/06/2018 09:40

Welcome @unicornn and congratulations on you pregnancy! I've had my midwife appointment at 8 weeks and is one 90 minute appointment where they go through you medical and family background and do weight, blood pressure, urine test and take blood. They also talk about home life, relationships and any risk factors such as DV, smoking and drugs etc. I know some places split this appointment into two separate sessions which sounds like your will be. Good luck!

Yep I just feel sick constantly without being sick I've found slowly eating oatcakes or corn cakes keeps it under control but mornings and night time it's a lot worse

hayleyfx · 29/06/2018 10:26

I tried a banana this morning, had one right after being sick and it settled my stomach so much. Felt okay for about an hour after. Now feel like I might be sick again but banana definitely helps! Also had a couple yoghurts and they went down nicely too. Making a list of foods now that are less gross and easier to throw up 🤣

@LookingAtTheStars89 I felt the exact same way, only started being sick last week. I’m 8+3 now. I actually found it more frustrating not managing to get anything up however now I can’t really keep food down so try to eat if you can. I hope it eases off for you and doesn’t turn into vomiting!

unicornn · 29/06/2018 10:32

@maxiflump1 thanks for your reply. That makes sense if the appointment is split into two. I thought it was too soon for scans and I couldn't think was the second appointment would be.

buthaina · 29/06/2018 10:34

Hi everyone!
Found out last week that I was pregnant. I am 6w and 2days today Grin we are so happy as been trying for very long and finally it happened! Had my early scan on Monday but it was too early I been told and only could see that everything seems in the right place. I'm so sleepy all the time and eating so much it's so hard when I have to be at work all day. Anyone have the same?

Lookingforadvice123 · 29/06/2018 11:22

Hi all, just popping in again! I caught up on the thread last night but I've been trying to stay away as so far, my anxiety has not been as bad as when I was pregnant with DS - I'm managing to be quite positive and so trying to avoid anything that might make me worry again!

Good to hear news of those who've had positive early scans, and fingers crossed for you kahstorm and congratulations MrsY on twins!

I'm 5+3 today, looking forward to getting to 6 weeks as for some reason it feels like a milestone?! Booked an early scan for Tuesday 10th July when I'll be 7 weeks exactly (or 7+1 as my cycles are only 27 days). Feels good to break up the time a bit.

Symptoms wise I still have sore boobs (since the day before I got my BFP!) and was surprised that my nausea started at 5 weeks exactly, it comes and goes rather than constant but some times have been worse than others. I didn't get this until I was 6 weeks with DS so I didn't expect it this early, but have to say it's reassuring in a way.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Notquiteagandt · 29/06/2018 12:45

So I went the drs this morning about my spotting/pink discharge. He basicly brushed me off. So feeling disheartend.

I had an inturnal to check my cervix was still closed. Been cramping ever since. Anyone else had an inturnal yet?? Sure when ive had smears etc before it didnt hurt.

Been told to see quote "lets see how long t

Notquiteagandt · 29/06/2018 12:47

Sorry posted too soon..

"Lets see how long this pregnancy lasts"

After 4 miscarridges and fertility issues my anixity is sky high. That toyed with cramping and bleeding. As well as no deffinate dates. I thought that would be enough to warrent an early scan to see heart beat.

I am hoping this is something the midwife can sort?

Who reffers for early scans is it the Mw? Or Gp?

Sugarmonkey · 29/06/2018 12:52

My GP organised mine after spotting and pain. I haven't seen the midwife yet. Your go seems very unhelpful. Can you see someone else?

Notquiteagandt · 29/06/2018 13:09

Annoyingly not I have already been under the EPU as I am classed as high risk due to a previous ectopic. Once saw embryo (but no heart beat or dates as was tiny!) Was in the right place they discharged me.

Since started spotting. They said I have to get my GP to reffer me back. So I am in limbo in the middle at moment.

Think going to basicly plead my case to the MW and see if she will refer me. As I have seen quite alot of people have had scans at 8 weeks. As standard. (Currently around 7w)

So glad other people get this. As this crippling anixity is enough to make you feel you are loosing your mind 😂

Sugarmonkey · 29/06/2018 13:25

I'm the same, Im in a constant state of worry. We waited 3 year's for this...I was beginning to think it wouldn't happen...but the waiting for everything to make sure baby is fine is making me insane. I just want to get through the next five weeks safely....but have a scan every day to make sure he is fine lol

LookingAtTheStars89 · 29/06/2018 13:37

Booking in appointment done and I've lost 4lbs in the last 10 days Shock I was glad as it put me firmly under the 35 bmi bracket lol.

AliceRR · 29/06/2018 13:54

Worrying (slightly) 🙄

Met DH for lunch and he wanted an ice cream. I had a Twister from a shop but it was not great. It seemed as if it has been unfrozen and refrozen or in the freezer for ages. DH said I was being fussy. I ate about half of it then threw it away.

DH got a screwball from the ice cream van and encouraged me to have some. I resisted but then had it as he made me feel I was being overly cautious (and it was really hot and the ice cream was delicious!)

I knew I had read to be careful about ice cream vans but assume the risk is low and don’t think nhs website says anything about it.

Am I being silly?

twiglet · 29/06/2018 14:04

@Alicerr don't worry the NHS says soft ice-cream is fine. I think there can be a very small risk of listeria if the machines aren't cleaned but ice-cream vans are inspected as well.
I think the risk is incredibly low.

booxox · 29/06/2018 14:06

@AliceRR I would say try not to panic too much. It's important to be careful but also good to remember that there are women out there who don't even realise that they are pregnant until really late on. My best friend didn't realise until she was giving birth and her little girl was fine and came out perfect. I've been craving a McFlurry all day but apparently there not good to have. I'm in two minds whether or not to have one :( x

AliceRR · 29/06/2018 14:07

@twiglet. Thanks. I though that “soft” ice cream meant 🍦 too but then read something else which suggested ice cream van ice cream is different.

I’m sure it’s fine and I think I would get food poisoning if it had caused a problem. I didn’t have much but between the dodgy twister and the Whippy ice cream it’s one more thing to worry about til I have my scan in probably 5-6 weeks 🤦‍♀️

AliceRR · 29/06/2018 14:28

@booxox I have read that McFlurry is ok as they apparently clean the machines well but with ice cream vans I think the worry is there can be bacteria in the machines and they can be turned off at night and things...

I am worrying slightly but I think it’s fine and I’ve eaten loads of deli ham and also I drank etc before I realised I was pregnant!

AliceRR · 29/06/2018 14:30

@booxox and how did your friend not realise she was pregnant? Stories like that baffles me!
