New thread for those ladies due in February 2019. As there is so many of us though we could do with a roll call. If I start hopefully the next can cut and paste and we can have a list of everyone!

Hi all, I'm also on the other thread but seeing as there are two..

34, #2, EDD 22 Feb, 5+3.

First sign of nausea today - joy. Still epically bloated but sickness didn't start till 8 weeks last time so I'm hoping this times the same!

@kahstorm I had bleeding at 6 weeks with my first and then again at 20 weeks - all was fine. I'd only really worry if you start getting pain. Fx for you - I'm horrified you can't get a walk in appt to EPU on the basis of a GP referral - where abouts are you?

globetrotter2016 · 25/06/2018 17:02

Argh how are there two chats? So confusing? So cross posting from other thread to try and entice everyone over to facebook to make life easier:

ladies ladies ladies...hello there... joining up and reserving my seat... had a positive pregnancy test on father's day but have been too shock to post up till now.. this will be DC #2; not entirely sure how many weeks I am as came off pill and conceived straight away so dates could be 5 weeks or 6 weeks...first MW appointment tomorrow, hopefully they will offer a dating scan to clear up that confusion
I am really not good with this MN thread malarky and much prefer a facebook group as I find it so much easier to follow specific topics etc... my lovely friend from my previous bus has set one up...who wants to join? (gather round gather round ;) xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 25/06/2018 17:11

I’m not on Facebook at the moment, and tbh.. when I am, I use it for close friends only, sorry.

Thanks for the invite though 😊

Since2016 · 25/06/2018 17:11

Yes @globetrotter2016 two chats - ultra confusing! But I don't do Facebook so would prefer to stay here - but with only one group! 🤔

Alicejj8x · 25/06/2018 17:12

@globetrotter2016
Hello hun and congrats and welcome

Yes I would be interesting in joining that thread zzz

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 25/06/2018 17:16

I think because this thread originated in pregnancy and then once that was full it migrated over here with the original bunch of people. Pretty sure anyone is welcome to join on this one though.. 👌

jeanzbeanz · 25/06/2018 17:31

Oh, I didn't know there was another thread?

I'm not a Facebook user - will stay here Smile

clairehr · 25/06/2018 17:42

So after a real scare at the weekend I ended up in A+E and was referred for an emergency scan this morning.

Happy to say my little Squidge is all happy and snug, heart beating away nice and strong and measuring near enough bang on at 6+1. I'm so in love!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 25/06/2018 17:48

@clairehr. I'm 6w 1d too:-) I had a scan today. I thought I was 6w 6d but she said it all looked good and there was a heartbeat. How long was your bean in mm?

jeanzbeanz · 25/06/2018 17:53

Yay @clairehr!!

I've just had a real urge to burst into tears, I am so sick of feeling sick 😭😭😭

clairehr · 25/06/2018 17:54

@Lookingatthestars89 Isn't it incredible?! I thought I was 6+2, so pretty much spot on. CRL is 4.6mm.

clairehr · 25/06/2018 17:56

@jeanzbeanz I'm so sorry you're feeling rubbish! Have you tried a travel sickness band? I've been told that helps a lot of sufferers, might be worth a not too expensive a try!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 25/06/2018 18:02

@clairehr. I thought I was going to be sick when she first turned the screen on as I couldn't see anything lol. My crl was 5.46mm which seems bigger than most people 6 weeks!

Bee4S · 25/06/2018 18:08

Hello everyone! Been a bit quiet on here last few days. I had my first midwife scan today and I feel a little underwhelmed.

I was expecting to go through family medical history and all sorts but all I did was fill in a basic form with my personal details. The midwife tried to take a blood sample from both arms and failed and then said that they would be in touch to do the proper paperwork at my home where they will also take the blood they weren't able to today.

Is this normal? I mean I know things are done differently in different areas (I'm in Bedfordshire) but I have never heard of the midwives coming to your home from the off...

Bee4S · 25/06/2018 18:08

Midwife appointment* not scan

clairehr · 25/06/2018 18:09

@LookingattheStars89 It does seem bigger than most I've heard of, think it all depends on how baby is lying etc. I don't think they depend on it at this stage, not until the 12 week scan where they will date 'properly' 😊

kahstorm · 25/06/2018 18:10

@Since2016 thanks for that, it had made me feel a little better! I live in Kent. So the protocol is to ring the epu unit of each hospital and try and get an appointment. My midwife kept trying Aswell this morning but didn't get through either. I have paid for an early scan for Thursday so try and out my mind at ease, as it's my best friends wedding on Sunday and if it is bad news I think I need a few days to accept it.

I also have haemophilia, where my blood doesn't clot so that could be contributing to the bleed.

Lovely seeing the scan pictures! Xx

jeanzbeanz · 25/06/2018 18:15

@clairehr yes I am wearing two basically all the time! Not convinced they do anything but as you say, worth a try. And maybe I'd be feeling even worse if I wasn't wearing them!

hayley013 · 25/06/2018 18:49

@Bee4S my booking appointment is done at home, I haven't seen anyone yet, just self referred at my doctors and the midwife rang to book appointment to come out x

Babybeany · 25/06/2018 19:09

@globetrotter2016 I’m happier on here too. Thanks for the invite though. X

Bee4S · 25/06/2018 19:12

@hayley013 Ah okay, not so unusual then. How quickly did they contact you after you referred?

bubblybrit · 25/06/2018 19:27

So glad that everything went well for those who have had their scans! It’s amazing to see.....nervous and excited about my own scan now! Although not for another 3.5 weeks so I’ll try to take it a day at a time until then 🙂

Pea1984 · 25/06/2018 19:36

Anyone else struggling in this heat? I’m so bloated I look and feel about 5 months pregnant not 5 weeks!! So sleepy too...already had a nap and ready for another 😴 I really feel for ladies who are due to give birth any moment.

Since2016 · 25/06/2018 20:02

@kahstorm it's super common just not talked about but utterly terrifying. Thats an odd system, sure all will be fine but fx anyway.

For all of those going through this the first time - midwife appts are in my experience pretty underwhelming. I wouldn't go as far as to say a waste of time but in a first pregnancy there are a LOT and I personally didn't get much out of them. Just don't expect too much! I'll have the joy of being cons led time which will basically mean never seeing one and seeing a different junior each time 😂

Since2016 · 25/06/2018 20:03

And yes @Pea1984 my only symptom is basically horrendous bloating which is v awkward!!!
