New thread for those ladies due in February 2019. As there is so many of us though we could do with a roll call. If I start hopefully the next can cut and paste and we can have a list of everyone!

Done my self referral to the midwife now. Said they'll be in touch between 7-10 weeks for first appointment.

MorayRose · 25/06/2018 11:37

Thanks jeanzbeanz I know what you mean. How’s your anxiety now? Any coping strategies?

My husband has been great and is letting me talk a lot. That’s helping but I feel so out of control.

Why am I feeling like this when this is what we wanted for so long?

Alicejj8x · 25/06/2018 11:45

@MorayRose
It's completely normal hun I think it's the actual realisation of oh crap this is actually happening.

It's normal to feel like this hun and especially so early on too xx

twiglet · 25/06/2018 12:03

@morayrose it's completely normal just take each day as it comes don't worry about symptoms kicking in some people get loads some people don't and tbh most days are different!
I found I was a bit panicky before I picked up my maternity pack (I think this is a Scottish NHS thing) but there is some great NHS online guides to help ☺️
There is also no right or wrong way to feel and its important to remember that some days I'm relaxed others I'm over thinking every detail of the future!

Little update, I had my booking in appointment today... it went really well 👌

Spoke to the midwife about my concerns and the spotting/bleeding and she has booked me a reassurance scan for tomorrow. I’ve got my nuchal translucency scan for the 6th July, however... I’ll be just under 8 weeks for that. She’s said it’ll be too soon but keep the appointment anyway as there will be plenty of time to rebook another one and I can use it as another chance to feel reassured.

She didn’t do the full booking in appointment, so she’s rebooked me infor just after that scan when I’ll feel a bit safer about it all (hopefully!) and she’ll do bloods and all the form filing then.

She’s given me my notes, but they’re blank (just my name on the front) so I have them to give to the hospital at the nuchal scan, or if tomorrow’s scan is not good, I can just hand them back to the surgery.

I’m still a bit pessimistic about it all, but feeling a lot better now I’ll know tomorrow one way or the other.

Alicejj8x · 25/06/2018 12:20

@AliceRR oh really! It's so funny how each doctors are different isn't it. I have my appointment with GP next Monday and they already told me over the phone they would do their test even thou I defo know I'm
Preg lol

seafoodeatit · 25/06/2018 12:27

Notasgreenas - thinking of you and your scan tomorrow, it sounds like you've gotten a nice midwife.

They give you your notes here after your 12 week scan at the hospital, I know the midwives hate it as they have to transfer most of the info from booking in all over again. I'm just feeling sick all of the time, I've lost slightly less this week then last - 2lb, I just want to sleep all day.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 25/06/2018 12:34

She was a really lovely midwife.. even told a few white lies to get me the scan today!

Unfortunately I probably won’t see her again, she’s come out of early retirement to cover at my local surgery as the other midwife moved surgeries. They’re working on getting a permanent replacement.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 25/06/2018 12:35

I am so bored of feeling sick and tired. I only threw up a little bit this morning though.

I won’t mind these symptoms so much if there’s an actual baby growing though.. trying to contain my emotions but I really cannot wait for tomorrow!

Babybeany · 25/06/2018 12:45

Down to zero symptoms. 😕 None!! Not even my boobs tingle anymore.

Can anyone help me with how to tell my boyfriend how far along I am please? I have tried telling him that I am 6 weeks as it is taken from the first day of my last af, but he just argues with me saying “but you weren’t pregnant then!” I have told him to google it, but he won’t. I hate being an ‘I told you so’ person but it’s so frustrating when you know you’re right! X

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 25/06/2018 12:51

He’s being an arse, if he won’t believe you and he can’t be bothered to google it.. next time he says it can’t be right, just shrug.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 25/06/2018 12:53

Also, regarding symptoms... my last two pregnancies, I had all the symptoms... throwing up every day, couldn’t touch my boobs etc. Lost both pregnancies.

I don’t put much stock in symptoms or lack of.. so I wouldn’t worry on that front.

Alicejj8x · 25/06/2018 12:54

@Babybeany

I am sure everything is ok lovely someone else didn't have any symptoms and they had their scan today and it was all fine

Have you got a scan soon?..

And oh really that's so annoying when men get like that

Babybeany · 25/06/2018 12:58

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking haha! Thank you! I guess I just needed someone to tell me exactly that! He is very nervous after mmc last year and is trying to keep me grounded. It’s just this particular time he’s just winding me up!

It is a bit reassuring to hear that no symptoms isn’t necessarily a bad thing. So thanks for that too. X

Babybeany · 25/06/2018 13:00

@Alicejj8x I can’t afford a private scan at the moment and my first booked one isn’t until August 10th. I might see if I can go to epu next week for a 7-8 week one x

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 25/06/2018 13:09

Men have a really weird way of ‘helping’ sometimes don’t they? 😂

fizzledays · 25/06/2018 14:13

Met the midwife for our "booking in" appointment today, all started feeling so real!
She said that a scan at 6+6 might be too early to hear heartbeat etc, but the place we booked into says they can scan from 6weeks. When is anyone else booking in? Is it too early?

Alicejj8x · 25/06/2018 14:38

@Babybeany
Yeah see if you can get there for a early one to put your mind at ease xx

kahstorm · 25/06/2018 14:58

Moving over from the other board. I know very late! I've been on a residential school trip all well. I am six weeks today and I am afraid I don't have fantastic news. Started spotting over the weekend and it got a little heavier yesterday. Still bleeding today. No pains at all but I'm worried as heck! Had my first midwife appointment who told me to ring the epu. Tried 3 different epu's and the earliest I can get an appointment is on Saturday. It's going to be a long and horrible week! Sad

Camsie30 · 25/06/2018 15:23

Just had a scan and I'm 6 weeks, due date 15th Feb!! Heard the heartbeat, it's real!!

hayleyfx · 25/06/2018 15:39

@hayley013 yeah it’s tough. I hope you don’t get it as bad with this pregnancy. Just telling myself it’s all worth it 😊

@kahstorm oh no I’m so sorry. I hope everything turns out to be alright. Try to stay calm and think positive, I’ve got everything crossed for you x

@Camsie30 massive congrats hun!

Had my booking appointment with midwife today, just waiting now for a letter to tell me when my scan is 🤞 she took my blood and I’ve never felt so dizzy and faint... then before I knew it I was being sick in a bowl! Slightly embarrassing but oh well 🤣

@kahstorm keeping fingers and toes crossed for you my love. How nerve wracking for you. X

Ooh... what got deleted? I thought this was a very non controversial thread!

Babybeany · 25/06/2018 16:44

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I think it was a promotion or something judging by the username x
