@Roomarmoset Beautiful scan! That looks really clear! Good luck with second scan tomorrow.

December2018 · 21/06/2018 12:56

Beautiful scan hun!!! Xxx

December2018 · 21/06/2018 13:06

I've just bought the Moses basket!! I'm in love!
A tad early but I like to know I've got it 😂 xx

Gemsie1984 · 21/06/2018 13:26

Lovely scan @Roomarmoset.. baby doing headstands haha.. they won't be able to do that for too much longer :)
I've got a crib. It's a John Lewis one, bought it second hand for £35, such a bargain. Amazing condition. I've got almost everything now apart from a pram and gender specific clothes and essentials such as nappies etc. I've even bought little beanie babies to put in the crib 🙈 Doing a big Asda shop on Saturday and my OH was like.. you're not getting more baby stuff! Oh yes I am 😇

Gemsie1984 · 21/06/2018 15:22

TMI question I'm afraid.. is anyone else getting LOADS of discharge? It's quite thick and looks like EWCM.. 😕

DottyA · 21/06/2018 15:31

Hi everyone! I've been lurking between here and the January thread but I've just had my 12-week scan and been given a 31st December due date... As my son was born at 38 weeks I'm hoping this one will do the same so I think I might join you here. And I noticed a couple of you are in Brighton or nearby... me too :-)

Roomarmoset · 21/06/2018 15:32

Welcome @DottyA 😊😊

DottyA · 21/06/2018 15:54

Thanks Room :)

Your scan is amazing - so clear!

December2018 · 21/06/2018 16:15

Hey gemsie! Yeah I've had loads of discharge today it's horrible I've put a panty liner on because I'm sick of changing my pants every couple of hours 🤭

December2018 · 21/06/2018 16:18

This is the Moses basket I ordered today my OH picked it actually so I'm pleasantly surprised by his new ability to choose nice things haha 😜

@Gemsie1984 yep it’s horrible. Wow @December2018 that looks fancy, I never got a Moses basket as I was too tight 😂
@Roomarmoset great scan picture. My little one was also doing hand stands. But after stupid amount of water and walking we got the little trouble to move. Welcome @DottyA

AGirlinLondon · 21/06/2018 18:00

@December that is so fancy!!!

Cakelaur · 21/06/2018 18:04

Wow girls! I've not bought ANYTHING!!!! My mum has bought a couple of outfits. Haha. But we've not got anything

emwithme · 21/06/2018 18:36

We haven't bought anything either. Did nip into Mothercare today for half a look at prams...bloody hell they're expensive, aren't they!

EnglishIrishRose · 21/06/2018 18:57

Hello everyone. I'm a bit gobsmacked to be posting here as I thought my due date was 4th Jan 2019 - nope, had my scan today and it turns out baby is due on New Year's Eve!

This is my first and I was absolutely amazed by the little one wriggling around in there, it was so special. I think I kinda convinced myself I was msking it up, though I've had a horrendous first trimester with almost every symptom going.

Told the extended family today and they're all over the moon, which is nice as I wasn't sure how some of them would react - I have a DW not a DH so I knew they might have some questions.

Scan pic attached! (if it works) Grin they were being a bit of a pickle but we got some good pics in the end.

EnglishIrishRose · 21/06/2018 19:02

Hi @DottyA I see we have the same due date - I found out today too and nearly swore lol! It's not an uncommon occurence in my family, we have Christmas and New Year babies galore.

Gemsie1984 · 21/06/2018 19:11

Welcome @EnglishIrishRose :) I'm well versed to the questions as I'm in a same sex couple also..like water of a ducks back mostly! Don't know how Due in Jan ladies were.. but we're a lovely bunch here if I do say so myself 😂

ZoeMarie09 · 21/06/2018 19:27

Hello all Smile

Please can I join? I am 13+4 with first baby and have been so worried that something would go wrong that I’ve been reading along this chat for ages, too scared to actually join in case I jinx myself- is that mental??

Anyway, hope everyone is having a happy pregnancy so far Grin after crappy sickness and tiredness, I’ve started to feel so normal I’m worried that I’m not even pregnant anymore... anyone else feeling the same?

EnglishIrishRose · 21/06/2018 19:44

@Gemsie1984 nice to know I'm not the only one. Thanks for the welcome Smile

It's the Irish family for me... some of them are veeery old fashioned Catholic country people but they've come round to acceptance. I also have 2 gay cousins on that side so we all back each other up. Can't imagine what random questions I'll get once bump starts showing!

ZoeMarie09 I'm starting to feel normal again too and it's such a relief!

DottyA · 21/06/2018 20:20

Hey @EnglishIrishRose - I'm so hoping it'll happen before Christmas! Would be lovely to spend xmas day snuggling a newborn rather than pregnant and irritable. Either way, I'm planning on filling the fridge with M&S food and refusing to go anywhere....

EnglishIrishRose · 21/06/2018 20:32

Oh yes that would be lovely DottyA if we could have teeny ones to cuddle at Christmas! I'll be going to my mum's but only cos it's 20 mins away and they'll all wait on me Wink

MissMedusa · 21/06/2018 22:03

@applesauce1 this may be too late for you but cervical length checks are usually done vaginally. They can do them through the abdomen but won't be nearly as accurate. Hope everything goes/went ok.

raysan1 · 21/06/2018 22:35

Hi ladies, are we showing yet? I am 16+2 and my belly does have a lower curve but exactly the same size as pre-pregnancy (just more firm). I suppose it's one less thing to worry about with clothes (well, apart from bloating) but I am dying to flash my bump! especially when I visit family in 2 weeks!

AGirlinLondon · 21/06/2018 22:35

Girls I made a mistake today and allowed myself to get depressed about maternity pay. It’s truly awful at our company and although I am saving and will be fine, I feel like being a mum and having a career is a mountain to climb for so many reasons when it shouldn’t have to be in 2018. I want to take time to care for my baby without worrying about this, and have worked damn hard to make sure I have a good standing in the business. But as soon as you’re on mat you’re a second class citizen! Rant over, deep breathing etc xxx

AGirlinLondon · 21/06/2018 22:36

And yes @raysan I have a full on bump now - am 16+3 and it appeared overnight! I can also feel something kicking me....Grin
