Hi little bump. Welcome to the group. I've only just started contributing as I wanted to get t my three month scan so I'm getting into practice with this too!
I just put my scan pic up not long ago and ppl general think boy. I have no idea!
I think yours could be a boy but I don't know any of the theories so I'm not much help!! X

Gemsie1984 · 20/06/2018 16:09

Just joining this for the first time. I'm 14+2 with my first after IVF at age 38. Any other 'older mums' or people who've been through fertility treatment on this thread?

I'm really struggling to sleep (have struggled with insomnia on & off pre-pregnancy so guess that doesn't help) but so exhausted all the time. Just invested in a pregnancy pillow to see if that helps with comfort & to stop me rolling onto my back.

Nice to connect with other women due around the same time as me. :-)

Hey gemsie... I think boy!! 💙 XX

PickettBowtruckles · 20/06/2018 16:56

Hi ladies, hope you’re all doing well!

I’m more active on the fb page but for some reason haven’t been on here so much. Got my scan tommorow (had one 2 and a half weeks ago but was too early - long cycles!) so think I’m 13 weeks tommorow. Working on a due date of 27th December I think! Hope everyone else is doing well ❤️

applesauce1 · 20/06/2018 18:31

Hi Ladies,

Hope you're all well. Not been on in a while due to being moderated at school (completed and all fine - yay) and report writing (still not finished - boo)

I have been procrastinating by looking at prams online. I really like the look and sound of the iCandy Peach Royal. Does anyone have experience of this brand/model? I've found one on fb market place and want to make an offer on it (it's for sale for £580, but would only cost £700 new, so not a big enough saving to make an offer yet), but my husband wants me to do more research.
Is it any good?

Thanks!

Primrose16 · 20/06/2018 19:03

@applesauce1 have you been into shops to have a look at them. I’m just using my pram from my first. I got the silver cross pioneer. But I wanted a different brand- can’t remember what we are going back 2 years. We went to the shops to have a feel of them. My hubby is tall so the silver cross was the only one that extended high and comfortable enough for him. I’d advise you to go into store to have a feel of them first. Plus we got ours from mothercare. They tend to offer interest free, and they do expectant mother events and give out discounts (and goodies) to use in store- which can save a lot on expensive items.

Got my nuchal screening results.
Does any one else know what there hcg and PAPP A numbers were.

I'm still waiting for mine to come thru 😖

Gemsie1984 · 20/06/2018 19:38

Basically you're looking for anything over 1mmol adjusted for being within normal range. Both your levels are good :)

Gemsie1984 · 20/06/2018 19:39

PAPP-A relates to placental function I believe

AGirlinLondon · 20/06/2018 19:58

@SpChestnt huge congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome

emwithme · 20/06/2018 21:57

We've had a boy's name since Forever - he will be Edwin Neil, named after the first two men on the moon.

Girls are proving more difficult. Middle name will be Elizabeth but we're not sure what the first name will be. Shortlist is currently Matilda, Martha, Lydia or Clara.

applesauce1 · 20/06/2018 22:30

@emwithme I love the name and the meaning behind it! Always wanted to call my future dog Laika for the same reason.

@Primrose16 that is excellent advice. I'm going to take my husband to mothercare to test drive some prams (he is 6ft 1, so reasonable tall).

I've got a cervical scan tomorrow to test the structural integrity of my cervix (had the LLETZ treatment following CIN3 cells being discovered at a smear) and might need a cervical stitch. Does anyone know if this is likely to be an internal ultrasound? My letter said that the lead practitioner was a man. I haven't had a male medic down there since a REALLY uncomfortable STI test when I was younger (unfaithful ex). He kept telling me to relax, which is paradoxical in such a dramatically unrelaxing situation...

smoothies · 21/06/2018 04:43

@olgadapolga Can you tell me the name of the Facebook group? How can I join? I can't see how to send a private message, I'm using the iPhone app and can't see any 'dots'. Thx

smoothies · 21/06/2018 04:47

@spchestnut I'm an older mum, this pg was natural but my daughter was ivf. I had her 12 years ago so not sure if I can be helpful, I guess things have changed. I'm exhausted and not sure if it's age or just pregnancy!

0lgaDaPolga · 21/06/2018 06:33

@smoothies I’ve pm’d you

Roomarmoset · 21/06/2018 06:44

I'm on count down to my 12 week scan, 2 hours and 15 minutes to go Confused🤞🏻

Primrose16 · 21/06/2018 07:30

@applesauce1 great- my hubby is 6ft 6. It’s best to check out how they collapse etc and how they feel pushing around the shop. And daft as it sounds if they fit in the boot of your car. I had to take the wheels off mine for it to fit in. I had a Yaris then. Now I have a estate.
Don’t know about your scan, it might be. I had several internal scans and they aren’t bad they use lots and lots of lube. Good luck.
@emwithme your very organised thinking of names already. I like your boy name, I struggle with girls names too. I will have to really think about it as I’m sure im having another girl

marthvader · 21/06/2018 07:46

@emwithme I vote Martha for a girl... not biased at all (does my username give it away?)

0lgaDaPolga · 21/06/2018 08:11

I am so stuck for names. We had a couple of agreed upon girl names from last time but our son’s name was literally the only name we could agree on and now we are having another boy I think he might be nameless for a while!

JustVent · 21/06/2018 08:20

I remember counting down @roomarmoset! How exciting, and lucky you that it’s first thing!

Let us know how it goes.

December2018 · 21/06/2018 10:43

roomarmoset good luck darl xxx

Wanttomakemincepies · 21/06/2018 11:30

Please add me to spreadsheet, no space to get app age 34, Manchester, staying yellow, home birth, one DS8.

Roomarmoset · 21/06/2018 11:41

Everything is okay! Actually can't believe it. Unfortunately the baby was doing a handstand so they tried to get me to wiggle about to change its position but it was still upside down 🙈
Managed to get a photo but have to go back tomorrow to get the nuchal done as they couldn't take any measurements. 13 weeks and 4 days so further along than I thought. Due date 23rd December 😀
