Oh god I had the strangest dream last night. I have my asthma check tomorrow and (in the dream) I mentioned that I'm starting to get out of breath a bit (which I am) - Asthma Nurse couldn't work out why so got the midwife to scan me and the bloody baby was floating round my body like an alien not connected to anything.

MagicalCreatures · 09/07/2018 22:48

Don’t get me started on dreams!!!!
I’ve always had vivid dreams and nightmares but these are DIRTY!!! 😂

@RomPom thinking of you darling. Hoping you get some good news and if you need a rant, you know where we are. X

Just thought I'd update my situation, I know I've only been on here a short time, but you're very supportive and it's good to have somewhere to talk about it.

My mum has bladder cancer, the consultant confirmed yesterday. She also has blocked kidneys, so she needs to have them drained and then later this week will have a MRI scan. At the moment, they've said she'll be in hospital for at least 7/8 weeks. DD and I arrived at her house late last night. The hospital is 2 hour drive away, which isn't ideal, but hopefully we'll get to see her sometime today.

I have to find a local doctor here to see if I can get my quad test and routine bloods done as they were arranged for next week. Have to remember I need to try to stay calm and eat to keep my little nugget healthy!

December2018 · 10/07/2018 07:13

Rompom I'm so sorry to hear about your mum it's just bloody awful!
I'm no good with expressing my words but I just wanna send you a massive hug and a hand hold!
We are all here for you hun xxxx

balalalala · 10/07/2018 07:20

Gosh, so sorry to read this. Fingers crossed for you all in coping during such a difficult time.

I've just given myself a right scare on my drive to work. I so very very nearly drove into a cyclist as they were hidden by the sun glare despite having sun glasses on and sun visor down. I feel awful! And all shakey and wobbly!

MagicalCreatures · 10/07/2018 08:59

@RomPom so so sorry darling. I have no words of advice or experience or wisdom but there is a massive virtual hug here for you. Life just isn’t fair sometimes. There’s no explanation for it. It’s just shite!!!!
@balalalala I did exactly the same thing a few months ago but it was because it was raining hard. Really shook me up. But you need to not think about what could have been and focus on the fact that the worse didn’t happen and nobody was hurt. We learn from these things and I always take just an extra 2 seconds now to double check x

So sorry @RomPom that's just too hideous.. I'm sorry you're having to battle alone too. You're an incredibly brave and strong woman. I'm wishing your Mum and your family the very best x

Stephisaur · 10/07/2018 09:54

@RomPom sorry to hear about your Mum :( big hugs from me

balalalala · 10/07/2018 11:30

Thanks, I've got myself in a bit of state about it all and worried I'm going to be in trouble. I tried ringing 101 and they were super unhelpful. They told me to report it as a road accident online so I had a look and that basically has me say it was dangerous driving which I honestly don't think it was. I just want to make sure he was OK. So now I don't know what to do. I'm currently hiding in a little meeting room at work having a minor hormonal cry about it Sad

JustVent · 10/07/2018 11:42

Hi Rompom sorry to hear your news.
My grandpa had bladder cancer twice.
The first them they blasted it but it came back a couple of years later so they removed his bladder. He lived well into his 90’s with no bladder and even at 91 would do out on long treks with his friends all over England. You would never have known he had no bladder, the bag was so very discreet.

I know this is just one version of many different events of how things can pan out, I just wanted to give you a positive story linked to cancer of the bladder because I know a diagnoses like that is astronomical in the early days, especially when it’s someone who isn’t old (my grandpa was in his 70’s I’m assuming your mum is younger?).
I really hope that things run smoothly and they get to work fixing her and making her more comfortable. X

AGirlinLondon · 10/07/2018 12:09

Try not to worry @balalala. I think even small things can seem like a big deal at the moment. This is easily done and you did the right thing!

Ps random update of the day - so glad that my sweet tooth has returned after a three month absence! Just demolished a cream tea!

balalalala · 10/07/2018 13:36

Thanks agirlinlondon I've had the same thing! I'd been missing my sweet tooth! Just nailed a crunchie.

DoAsDreamersDo · 10/07/2018 13:44

Thinking of you Rompom xx

EnglishIrishRose · 10/07/2018 14:07

@Rompom I'd just like to add my sympathies to everyone else and hope you're looking after yourself and bubba. You sound a very caring person and I'm sure your mum appreciates it.

I've been a bit quiet for a while. Life has gone a bit mad. I've lost my job so I'm starting a VERY long maternity leave now! This led to a relapse of my generalised anxiety disorder and to top it all off, my grandpa just died and no-one told us grandchildren he was even ill.

And breathe! Any suggestions for how to keep myself occupied for the next few months are more than welcome.

Gemsie1984 · 10/07/2018 15:34

Has anyone else been having a super achey bump? I had a nap this afternoon and woke up and I felt like I'd pulled a muscle on the left side of my bump. Hurt to stretch for a bit!

JustVent · 10/07/2018 15:40

YES!! I’m in pain as we speak. On my left side!

I’ve not been worried about it though because I’m due the end of January I remember the posters on here saying a few weeks ago that they had pain and lots of people agreeing . They were about 16-17 weeks which is what I am now.

I don’t remember pain with my last baby I must admit.

JustVent · 10/07/2018 15:44

I just tried to stand up and it made it a million times worse. It’s the familiar pain or round ligament pain.

However the last week I’ve been getting full on cramps as well, which is a whole different pain.

JustVent · 10/07/2018 15:44

*of not or

Gemsie1984 · 10/07/2018 15:48

Must be normal stretching pains then.. bloody sore though!

Cakelaur · 10/07/2018 17:00

@EnglishIrishRose I'm so sorry to hear about your job and grandad. It's shit that things all seem to happen at once. As for things to keep occupied... nesting is a good one!! Spring clean? Knitting? Get a puppy?

ND348 · 10/07/2018 17:14

I've been getting similar pains, went to the loo earlier and could hardly walk after I think I got up funny!

MagicalCreatures · 10/07/2018 17:22

Pains here too. They come and go from week to week so must be growth spurts or something.
At the moment they are quite sore internal pains. Like burning. Sometimes I think bubba is doing a massive stretch or somersaults.
And then other times they are quite sharp pains but don’t last long x

RomPom · 10/07/2018 20:31

Thank you everyone for your kind words and thank you @JustVent I really needed a positive experience!

Gemsie1984 · 10/07/2018 21:17

Think my pain is round ligament pain after some dr. Googling.
