Ignore the z!

JustVent · 28/06/2018 09:03

Just felt two kicks though so I really should stop panicking/complaining.

EnglishIrishRose · 28/06/2018 09:30

Welcome @Izzyw1983 you've got this!

We've got a babymoon planned but more cos we just want a holiday this year. Paris for a long weekend Smile

Also ladies, my employment situation has gone very much south and I'm now signed off work for a week after a cramping scare and having to go to EPU. Good thoughts my way please! I'm not sleeping or eating properly and just anxious all the time.

Roomarmoset · 28/06/2018 09:52

Welcome @Izzyw1983

Congratulations on the news! We're a fab group here and we'll give you lots of advice and support. Sorry you're having to do it alone but what a blessing that you're having a baby after being told you couldn't Flowers

Roomarmoset · 28/06/2018 09:54

Sorry to hear that @EnglishIrishRose, easier said than done but try and relax if you can.

When are you going to Paris?

EnglishIrishRose · 28/06/2018 09:59

@Roomarmoset thanks I am trying so hard just to resolve it and move on!

We're going at end of July so not too long to wait. It'll be a lovely break.

December2018 · 28/06/2018 10:57

Izzyw1983 congrats and welcome babe 😘
You and your little miracle will do just fine!
My mum raised 3 of us on her own and she is my complete world I've never needed a father becasue I've got such a wonderful mum! Your gonna be fab!

Cakelaur I'm on team pink for this little bean but we will find out soon 😁

EnglishIrishRose at least you have a little break to look forward to and take your mind off things a little!

Izzyw1983 · 28/06/2018 14:39

Thank you everyone.... I have mum although she does take over alot lol and has made all the decisions on baby so far....but I'm just going along with it all.... but hoping to have moved into my own place before December. Can't wait! Grin

Cakelaur · 28/06/2018 16:43

So my best friend came round to drop off 'a few' clothes!! Haha!! I'm STILL sorting through them!! Haha!!! It takes up the WHOLE of my 2m island in the kitchen!! I've done 3 loads of washing and I'm only half way though unisex clothes! It's crazy!! I could have triplets and still have too much!! Loving being able to wash and sort out all the clothes. 😍

I'm hoping I'm team pink. But actually with all these clothes and the perfect boys name. I'm actually not fussed. But id love a little girl so I'm not outnumbered!! Everything in our house is boy stuff!! Don't be needing to add to that category!! Haha

@izzyw1983, welcome to the group! Wow what an amazing miracle baby, congratulations!

I’ve been feeling movement a bit more strongly in the last couple of days. I have an anterior placenta but I’m 18 weeks now so ladies that aren’t feeling anything yet I’m sure you will soon.

Izzyw1983 · 28/06/2018 19:19

Thank you.....i can't wait to feel something....it might feel real then haha...Grin

MrsTeaPlease · 28/06/2018 20:14

Hi again everyone, just caught up in the new thread as i had bookmarked the old one and stupidly just thought no one was contributing recently! (Baby brain for sure!) Congrats on finding out it's a boy @gemsie1984 we have our gender scan on Saturday! Although, my 3 year old son has been telling everyone at nursery it's a girl and anytime we mention baby it's 'she' from him, so it could be an interesting morning if it's a boy!!

I have been having fluttery feelings every couple of days for a week or so but I feel like I should be feeling more by now (16+2) although I think my placenta is a bit anterior so maybe that's why. Does make me worry though!
Can't remember who mentioned the handmade tale, but we are also watching it and loving it!
I stopped feeling sick and having dodgy guts about a week and a half ago and feel so much better now. Also my skin is much better now.

Isn't it good that we won't be heavily pregnant in this heat?! My friend is and it must be so uncomfortable, especially at night.

Hope everyone is having a good week, Friday 2moro! Woohoo.

Oh and totally agree that mat pay is a bag of shit. I only get stat mat pay so have been saving up and I know it will be tight. But we managed last time on less, so to all those worrying don't. You just make it work, and it somehow does.xx

MrsTeaPlease · 28/06/2018 20:14

Woah, sorry that was a bloody essay. Didn't realise it was so long!!

ND348 · 28/06/2018 20:29

I was told anterior placenta at a private scan at 10 weeks, I actually asked about it at my 12 week scan and they said they don't tell ladies until 20 weeks as it's likely to move...

We've got a babymoon booked to Greece when I'll be 26 weeks, we've gone for a swim up room so if I'm too hot I can just roll from bed to pool and back! However we are also going sailing next week with friends that was already planned so not counting that as a babymoon...

Nilam87 · 28/06/2018 20:35

Hi All Smile I’ve just joined the thread! Pregnant for the first time and 17 weeks gone on Saturday... It sure has been a roller coaster with emotions and anxiety so far!

I was wondering if anyone has considered or has been on a long haul flight (more than 5 hours) during the second trimester?

MagicalCreatures · 28/06/2018 20:40

Blimey that’s a lot to catch up on. I’ve only been gone a day 😂 what a chatty bunch.
@AGirlinLondon @December2018
That sounds so weird how you describe the movements. I’m not sure whether I’m feeling anything as I have no idea what to look out for.
@Cakelaur you crack me up. Baby brain!! Don’t worry I have it too.
@Izzyw1983 welcome to this wonderful group and like everyone else has said. You are going to do just great. Miracle Baby. How perfect!!!

I’m still convinced I’m having a boy and finding myself coo-ing over all the gorgeous little boy outfits.

@MrsTeaPlease I’ve had to stop watching the handmaids tale. I loved it but after she got caught my hormones couldn’t handle it. It was too intense 😂

@Nilam87 welcome Hun. X x x

AGirlinLondon · 28/06/2018 20:43

Hey @Nilam87 I fly a lot with work (often +12 hours) and wouldn’t hesitate as long as you have decent seats (or a pillow of your own) comfy clothes and DVT socks. I feel absolutely fine flying and will fly this trimester.

AGirlinLondon · 28/06/2018 20:44

@magical my kicks seem to really pick up when I’ve had my dinner! A girl at work says fizzy drinks also set them off!

Nilam87 · 28/06/2018 20:50

@MagicalCreatures thank you! Absolutely loving that there is a group just like this xx

@AGirlinLondon - thanks for the advice. I am in two minds about flying, I'll 19 weeks gone when and if we do. I've been putting off booking something but think will just go for it!

Talking about feeling any movements - I haven't felt anything apart from aches. My midwife said I would start perhaps feeling some flutters but too be honest I have no idea what they should feel like!

MagicalCreatures · 28/06/2018 20:59

@AGirlinLondon I must admit, when I’ve had a fizzy drink etc I feel weird flutter but put it down to wind 😂
I do get sudden pains inside and sometimes I wonder if baby is doing somersaults in there.
@Nilam87 why have you had a lot anxiety etc so far. If you don’t mind me asking x

AGirlinLondon · 28/06/2018 21:03

@Nilam87 Mine feel a bit like when you have gas bubbles after you’ve eaten, but in random places rather than working their way through. So at first it was really hard to tell like @Magical says.

MagicalCreatures · 28/06/2018 21:12

So anyway, let’s all have abit of fun.
I designed myself a pregnancy journal (I’m an artistic creature and hated the ones in the shop) and I stole this idea from somewhere on the internet.
You circle the ones that relate to you and then add up the numbers.
Just old wives takes stuff so not always true but it’s so much fun!!!
