I had exactly that pain about a week ago when I'd have been 16+1. It lasted for about 4 days, but is now just every now and again!

I'm knackered today! Loving seeing the pics of your bumps, although feeling mahoosive compared to all of you!

0lgaDaPolga · 25/06/2018 13:54

I’ve had some pains too, quite low down. Hopefully it’s just ligament pain. Haven’t had any bleeding fortunately. I guess babies get a lot heavier so must be more of a strain on all the muscles.

I’ve just added myself to the spreadsheet.

EnglishIrishRose · 25/06/2018 19:40

Hope you're all doing OK today and lovely to see some bumps! Mine is still just bloating but only 13w so not expecting much yet.

I've also had period type pains and stretching pains - sometimes quite sharp. My mum says it's normal and nothing to worry about unless very severe, ongoing and/or bleeding. She's a midwife so I tend to trust her!

In other news, found out today I'm being made redundant Sad at 6 months pregnant. Fantastic!

AGirlinLondon · 25/06/2018 21:37

@englishirishrose I am so, so sorry to hear that. I hope your company are treating you well during the process at the very least. It is really unfair. Be strong, get lots of support from those closest to you and come and rant to us when you need to. X

EnglishIrishRose · 26/06/2018 08:04

Thankyou @AGirlinLondon. They're giving me vague reasons which I don't exactly understand but I don't think I can fight it.

I'm working on actively relaxing so I don't spend the whole pregnancy stressed - anyone got any good tips to de-stress?

Gemsie1984 · 26/06/2018 08:42

Sorry you're going through this @EnglishIrishRose. Absolutely shit timing. I do sequin art. I know it sounds very dull but it's actually very therapeutic and you can get some good designs on Amazon. It just stops me from thinking and I zone out completely. Helps when my anxiety is having a bad day. The end product looks fab too, so it's very rewarding 😂 I've put three up in my daughters room at her request, must to my sons disgust as they share a room! Hehe.

Slightly off topic but my weight has been going down up until two weeks ago. In the last two weeks I've put on 3lb! Doesn't seem much but I've worked hard to make sure my BMI is not over 40. I'm worried I'll end up putting all the weight I've lost back on and then some.. I'm obviously expecting to start gaining but shocked me how quickly :(

0lgaDaPolga · 26/06/2018 09:38

Sorry to hear that @englishirishrose I was made redundant in my last pregnancy too, originally at 14 weeks until I told them I was pregnant and they agreed to keep me on until I decided to go on mat leave at 36 weeks. Could you have a talk with hr about keeping you on longer? They are on risky ground making a pregnant woman redundant and will probably be well aware of that and nervous about being sued so you may be able to get a better outcome if you have a talk with them. I ended up getting a good redundancy package, plus all my holidays for that year and next year paid for, which was fab for me as I didn’t intend on going back after the baby was born anyway. Hope you manage to get something sorted

JustVent · 26/06/2018 10:02

Omg sequin art. I need to new whim.

I’ve done canvas creations, crocheting blankets and other arty whims but I haven’t had a new one for ages.
Sequin art sounds awesome!
I’m so going to try it.

December2018 · 26/06/2018 10:33

EnglishIrishRose I'm so sorry hun!
It's just added stress and worry on top of all the normal pregnancy worries, were all here tho if you need a good vent... I can't believe they have done this to you tho... pisses me right off! (Pardon my French)
Big loves!

Sequin art does sound really fun!

EnglishIrishRose · 26/06/2018 10:51

Thanks @Gemsie1984 I've never heard of sequin art and it sounds great, I'll look into it Smile

@0lgaDaPolga I was too shocked to negotiate at the time, but after a little thought and a whole week of anxiety (knew this might be coming last week) I just feel too stressed to even carry on going in. I ended up crying in the doctors today (hormones, what fun!) and I just don't think I have a strong enough case for pregnancy discrimination. Even if I did, the stress would put me and baby at risk. I haven't even been there a year so they don't have to give me any redundancy pay or even follow a procedure apparently. It sucks.

Cakelaur · 26/06/2018 11:07

Slightly odd topic ladies.. are any of you or have you previously turned your placenta into pills?? I've heard amazing reviews..

Gemsie1984 · 26/06/2018 11:45

@JustVent here's a pic to show how they look once completed.

Wow gemsie! That's really cool!

JustVent · 26/06/2018 12:20

Nice!

AGirlinLondon · 26/06/2018 13:36

@EnglishIrishRose I would say this (because in my spare time I am a yoga teacher!) but Yoga breathing and pregnancy Yoga are amazing for stress levels and you can do them for free at home.

For a quick stress buster google ‘three part breath’ - this is one of the easiest and best breathing exercises around and there will be videos on YouTube x

0lgaDaPolga · 26/06/2018 21:04

That’s shit, sorry to hear that @englishirishrose I second doing yoga or crafts to take your mind off it. I loved pregnancy yoga last time. I am not a chilled out pregnant lady at all and yoga really helped relax me and destress

EnglishIrishRose · 26/06/2018 21:39

I've booked in for pregnancy yoga - can't start til a few weeks time but I'm looking forward to it. I did a bit of yoga before but not sure which poses are safe now.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone - and the sympathy! I'll get through this somehow...

JustVent · 27/06/2018 08:05

I’m having a paranoid week. Please can I get this off my chest?

This is the week that the baby’s heart stopped beating last time so I realise that I’m extra paranoid.

But....

When I was pregnant with DS2, I took a picture of my bump at 14 weeks. It was when the bloating had gone down for a couple of weeks and it was genuine hard baby bump.
However I’m now 14+2 and I have nothing at all. I have a massive bloat still but definitely no bump. I can feel something when I lay down but standing up absolutelt no genuine baby bump like I did before.

I know 14 weeks is early but this is my 4th, (3rd live child - Hopefully) so it isn’t early in the scheme of things. I can feel the baby wiggle occasionally and I thought as soon as I felt that, I would be constantly reassured but I’m not. Sad

JustVent · 27/06/2018 08:07

14 week bump last time. It was exactly 14+0 as well.

DottyA · 27/06/2018 08:55

@justvent - could it just be that the baby is lying differently this time? Also perhaps the bloat is masking the bump! I understand how easy it is to get paranoid though. Flowers

December2018 · 27/06/2018 09:04

If you have a posterior placenta your bump won't be as big this time around, your placenta may have been more frontal last time babe and that's why it was more prominent
Lots of loves hun xx

JustVent · 27/06/2018 09:07

I didn’t know that about the placenta. I’ve no idea where the placenta is this time.

I am 1stone heavier this this time so perhaps that doesn’t help either.

I just want to get to 16 weeks so I can breath.

December2018 · 27/06/2018 09:09

Mines an anterior placenta which means I'm all front... it should be in your maternity notes I'm sure my midwife put it in mine at my 12 week scan babe

JustVent · 27/06/2018 09:40

I haven’t seen my midwife since I was 10 weeks.
I don’t see her again until 16 weeks and I never saw a midwife at the 12 week scan.

Gemsie1984 · 27/06/2018 11:28

It's a BOY!!
