If it's really very painful I would suggest you phone gp and ask for referall to epu where they could do a scan. And failing that consider a&e or 111 to get seen. It could be completely unrelated to being pregnant but could impact a healthy pregnancy, or there are more serious things to check in on. I don't want to worry you - but don't wait in pain if it doesn't ease over night.

You can take paracetamol but you might prefer to feel the pain to sense if it's easing or not.

Some pain is very normal- your uterus is stretching and growing but it shouldn't be excruciating and should generally come and go rather than be consistent. Mine had been on and off for the last few days as I hit the 8 week mark xx

Well yesterday wasn't a great day.

I had my private scan at 8w. Ended up doing an internal. Baby looked good, all measuring fine, but then the sonographer spotted something next to the baby sac. Basically it might be nothing but it could be a molar pregnancy (exceptionally rare with a live fetus but there you go). I'm also worried if it's not a molar what else it could be?
So today I have to wait to hear from epu. I don't want to go to work not knowing what's going on but I don't have a choice because I'll need time off later on, and hanging around at home isn't going to help is it, and it's not like I can take leave (teacher).

Really worried.

Maggi85 · 26/04/2018 07:10

@Rachie1986 good news on your baba looking ok x hope you hear off EPU early and can’t get in quickly to find out got my fingers crossed for you that all is ok xx

liane15 · 26/04/2018 07:20

@orangekitkat13 it truly is awful! Hoping for a better day today with it. On the plus I wasn't actually sick yesterday, but I waited until right before bed to take the folic acid as I'm not sure if that's making the sickness worse too. I'm so excited to pass the first trimester you wouldn't believe lol!

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 26/04/2018 07:26

Hi @Rachie1986 that sounds so stressful! Positives are that there was a lovely heartbeat and everything looked good, except for a little extra something. Did they give you an estimated time that the epu will call you with more information? And did they say what the next steps would be if it's a molar?
Fx for you that everything is perfectly fine and nothing to worry about.
And congratulations on that heartbeat!!! Xx

balalalala · 26/04/2018 07:26

@rachie1986 great news that there is a live baby. I hope you hear from the epu soon and that they are able to reassure you.

Yukka · 26/04/2018 07:43

How you feeling this morning @mum0918?

Fingers crossed @rachie hopefully it's nothing to worry about, really positive you had a heartbeat. xx

Morning!

With regards to wired bras... You need to make sure the wire is not sitting on any breast tissue. The problem with the majority of high street shops is that they use an out dated measurement method from before the days of elastic so they add 4 or 5 inches to the band. As cup size is relative to band size this then means the cups are far too small and the wire sits on breast tissue. you can find more info at Boob or Bust. I've been using this measuring method for a few years now and honestly the difference once you find your true size is amazing. Comfy, supportive bras. Boobs up on my chest rather than round my belly button!! For example I went from wearing around a 38DD to 34 GG.
Remember your boobs will be growing and your ribcage expanding during pregnancy so many women do find soft bras more comfortable allowing room for expansion.

Mum0918 · 26/04/2018 07:52

@yukka 90% of the pain has gone so thats good. Now for a full day at work and school runs. Smile

Cakelaur · 26/04/2018 08:35

@Rachie1986 good luck babe. Could it just be a haemorrhage? Or maybe twins? A cyst or fibroid!! Gosh I hope all goes well. Xx

Cakelaur · 26/04/2018 08:40

@Mum0918 what kind of pain babe? I have stretching and cramping and pulling in behind my hip out to my bellybutton. And that's just bean getting comfy and ligaments stretching. That's all normal. But you shouldn't be physically hurting. Defo call Epu. If you have severe pain go to a&e and they can admit you to Epu or is there a walk in clinic near you? They may get you in ASAP if there is pain. Hope you're ok.

Rachie1986 · 26/04/2018 08:49

Thanks everyone.
No heartbeat in 2nd so not a twin. Maybe something else.
If it is a molar they'd have to terminate the pregnancy. It must b so unlikely, molar pregnancys are rare and molar + live embryo so much more so.
Crossing everything and hoping I hear from epu soon x

PopTheRainbowdrops · 26/04/2018 10:54

Yay for good news for people!
Fingers crossed for you Rachie xx

I'm not a breastfeeding peer supporter (no funding in my area and couldn't afford to put myself through the training) but I'm happy to help as well. I breastfed my daughter to 21 months, following a dairy, egg, soya and coconut free diet for her allergies x

December2018 · 26/04/2018 10:57

Keeping my fingers crossed for you rachie xxx

Mum0918 · 26/04/2018 12:23

@cakelaur the pain gone now, i think it must of just been stretching pains was like cramps. Just wouldn’t go. But feeling better now. Thank you x

Yukka · 26/04/2018 13:11

@rachie I had wondered about a silent twin where it didn't thrive so no heartbeat but embryo remains. I think there's a procedure for that. But you need the scan. Really hope they are in touch soon x

I've got an epu appt for tomorrow, but that means I've had to move my booking in appt and so that's now after I'm 12 weeks (if I get that far). I've got a 12w scan booked already but worried my booking in appt will be too late.
I'll ask at epu tomorrow.

mrsd1103 · 26/04/2018 13:56

Hello
Can I join you all?
I got a bfp at the beginning of the week following a mc at 6 weeks at the end of March.
Going from mc dates and all being well, It looks like we may have our 2018 baby

dreaminofholidays · 26/04/2018 15:26

unfortunately I started bleeding last night. Urgent care advised me to go to A&E who referred me to the EPU.

The EPU have offered me an appointment on Wednesday but it looks like it will all be over by then.

Managed to book a private scan for tonight in the hope I can get some more information either way.

just waiting and not knowing is awful

orangekitkat13 · 26/04/2018 16:14

@dreaminofholidays I'm so sorry to hear this, in hope you are hanging in there. There is still a chance everything is ok so don't loose hope just yet.

Rachie1986 · 26/04/2018 16:43

dreaming hope everything is ok and you get some good news from the scan x

liane15 · 26/04/2018 16:45

Strange question. I have bought some anti sickness bands today and they seem to have eased the sickness which is great, however whilst I'm at work we can't wear watches or bands on our wrists so does anyone know if they will still work if I wear them further up my arm where they will be covered?
I also haven't told work about my pregnancy yet so don't want people asking questions if they saw them 😬

Rachie1986 · 26/04/2018 17:23

I think they have to be on pressure points on wrists.. so not sure they would work further up.. sorry!

SunshineSparklesSmiles · 26/04/2018 17:28

@MamaBerg Thank you for your advice; I'm going to have a look at the site you recommended and buy some good quality non wired bras. Got achy boobs today and would hate to think I'd be doing myself harm. I really want to breastfeed so in a couple of weeks it'll be goodbye to the wires!

liane15 · 26/04/2018 17:38

Thanks @Rachie1986 dreading having to take them off for work 4 more weeks about I'll be at 12w Mark and hopefully I can't enjoy pregnancy. Isn't it crazy how different it can be each time, I was never this ill with my son.
