Hi can't see a thread so thought I'd start one.

Ttc#1
Mc x 2 both at 5 weeks
4weeks and 2 days pregnant and praying its sticky!

What do I have to do to get a scan earlier at 6 weeks or so?
Are you all using your EPU.
I’m worried that if I call them they will just laugh at me as I’ve only had one miscarriage. But the only private scan I can get isn’t until I’m 8 weeks.
I’m pretty sure that my miscarriage last time was caused by a blighted ovum and I’m petrified it’s going to happen again x

Ide say tell them your having pain although not the ideal thing to do but could push for one?
If your so worried lying won't feel bad when you get a result xx
When I read this back I feel like a bad person for saying it haha xx

@magicalcreatures I went private - is there an ultra sound direct near you they will do from 6weeks. The challenge is that there is often nothing to see before then as it's just too small. I had to have internal scan as the first shows an empty uterus it was just too small.
EPU generally won't see unless 3mcs or bleeding has occurred.

I know it's hard, I've had 2 mcs but try and rest and listen to your body. If something doesn't feel right phone the gp and discuss it again.

What makes you think it was blighted ovum last time? Did you have any specific symptoms at all?

Is anyone else absolutely ravenous all the time?! I've read that we don't need any more calories than usual until 6 months but I'm sooo hungry!!

lolli18 quite honestly, that’s what I feel like doing. Haha. But I’m not sure I can lie easily.
Yukka there is but it’s more than I can afford. There’s a place that will do an abdominal from 8 weeks and that’s obly £39.
I’m pretty sure it was a BO because there was never a yolk sac or anything. Just an empty sac that kept growing. My HCG never doubled and I had spotting from 6 weeks. And I know they say it’s unlikely that it will happen again but it does happen again and I’m so worried it will.
I don’t want to go 8 weeks feeling pregnant to find out there’s nothing really there. X

@Kit17 I'm literally eating us out of house and Home and then falling asleep. I've tried stocking our place full of salad ingredients which is working quite well. I really don't want to balloon!!

@magicslcreatures £39 is good I had to pay £90.

Another thing you could try and obviously not as good as scan, take a clear blue digital test that tells you how many weeks. If you read the instructions carefully you can work out that your hcg is increasing - this is what I did waiting for a scan. I did two tests and the second test said 3w+ which is as far as they detect but I knew it matched with my dates.

Last mc I did a digital at 5 weeks and it said less weeks then I should have been and sure enough the bleeding started that night. I know it's not medically accurate, and it could make you even more worried than you are if you don't see what you're hoping for.....

Ideally I would say keep everything crossed and wait for the 8 week scan, but then I've had a scan now do it's easy for me to say that. I did everything else possible myself too.

Yeh £39 is amazing which is what I’m happy to pay but it’s only from 8 weeks. Don’t know if I can wait that long.
Have got an ultrasound direct where I am and it’s £89 which is just out of my price range. But maybe I should just bite the bullet if it helps out my mind at ease x

We could wait until this thread finishes (once it's at 1000 comments) and then just start the new one in ante-natal? Is that easiest?

Did another FRER this morning to see if my lines had progressed (they have massively, fingers crossed it stays good and this is a sticky one!) but also did an IC at the same time which still shows barely a shadow! Pleased I used a FRER now! I’m hoping this marks the end of my obsessive POAS habit. I thought it’d end after a BFP but nope the crazy continued 🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyone else do it too?

Hiya, moving from the other December thread as requested :-D due to having irregular periods we have decided to date ourselves at the latest date possible being 19th December but this could change after 12 week scan xx

@PickettBowtruckles The instructions for the ICs is that the stick needs to be in the wee for more than 10 seconds. I leave my sticks in for about 30 seconds - much longer than I do for a FRER. It means I get a gratifyingly dark line now (see photos of line progression earlier in the thread). Probably not the right thing to do, but I'm tricking my brain into not panicking.

I think I am due 20th December but I had a mc in October so I'm thinking the worst...constantly dashing to the loo thinking it is all over. Anyone else in the same boat?

Feel like I want an early scan but equally thinking what's the point, had them last time, saw a strong heartbeat and then mc afterwards.

Anyone else trying to measure HCG by using the clear blue digi during these early weeks?

Morning everyone :) I'm still POAS every few days waiting for the lines to get darker. I had a fairly solid line on a cheapo yesterday after a 10 sec dip so I was really pleased. I called my new GP yesterday and they said I can register on Monday and see the nurse at the same time. I'll only be 5+1 then but it will be good to see someone official!

I was a POAS addict too, but it's an expensive addiction! I used CBD weeks estimator to check progression.. got my first BFP at 8dpo on FRER.

1-2 weeks - 12dpo
2-3 weeks - 15dpo
3+ weeks - 20dpo

Pretty sure I could've got the 3+ sooner but was too scared to test! Using a CBD for progression is notoriously inaccurate tho as everyone's levels are different, but this was my result.

@Gemsie1984 very expensive addiction! I took one earlier this week at 5 + 1 because I had tummy pains and feared the worst but it's gone up to 2-3 which would be right for 3 weeks so fingers crossed HCG is rising nicely. Also feeling a bit queasy when I get hungry which is hopefully another good sign!

@Gemsie1984 @BobbySD345 I'm WAY to scared to poas again! I've got one more chance digital. Last weekend at 5weeks I got 2-3weeks. I really should do the last one for peace of mind, but I can't bring myself to do it!! Might do an IC first and if that's got darker, then I'll do the cb digital! Haha

Hi, we're moving this thread over to our Antenatal Clubs topic now.

I feel so unbelievably sick and bloated. I'm sure the two are connected, I just need to work out what I can stomach that will make me look a bit less fat

Told DH that baby is the size of a Sesame seed right now, so he refers to it as little sesame, which surprised me as he seems super interested :)

I've gone off tea a bit though, which is a bit awkward as I drink so much of it at work! Thank goodness for the heatwave!
