Benson - CONGRATULATIONS. All these bubs are making such dignified entrances...one at a time
Another lovely name. Bring on the pics

Lwatkins · 09/05/2007 23:50

What's this? Is SOH having a baby? OOooooo, exciting stuff

elkiedee · 10/05/2007 01:02

Thanks for your support in my panic, Danny was due on 24 April, was induced on 2/3 May and finally arrived at 4.29 am on 4 May, after 26.5 hours in labour. We finally got home on Saturday evening to start the sleep deprivation programme and emotional highs and lows of breast feeding. So relieved, hope for lots of on time babies for the May group. I may drop in on your postnatal threads from time to time if I may, as Danny was actually born this month not last.

elkiedee · 10/05/2007 01:03

Hope your news is good Show of Hands. Labour vibes.

SOH any news. where are you the suspense is too much!!!!!!!!!!!

Pinkjenny · 10/05/2007 07:45

Morning all

DH started chatting to me this morning about baby names when he got up at 6.15am, and I couldn't get back to sleep.

InTheseShoes - I know what you mean about mat leave, but I don't even finish til tomorrow and then go in for my section next Thursday - so 3 days to myself. Forever. I plan to sit on the couch with ice cream, DVDs and MN and indulge myself completely.

SOH - so jealous of your sweets. I can't stop eating, still.

Mrs JB - straight back to Slimming World for me too (can't wait to be honest). I had lost 2 stone before I got pregnant, and I think the reason I have put so much weight on is because I probably put that 2 stone back on in the first trimester...

LW - your mum sounds so sweet, mine is exactly the same. I shudder to think about the amount of money my mum and dad have spent. My gorgeous mum keeps saying she is going to 'take a step back when the baby is born'. Hmmm.

AbbyLou, Elkiedee and Benson - congratulations! Gorgeous names x

Scoot - I want Conley to show us her thighs! She always has those hideous knee length lycra shorts on. I reckon she's got pork pies stuffed up them. Self righteous cow, can't stand her.

SOH - update us immediately! Never mind sleep!

I have no news at all - I went to the Trafford Centre yesterday but just wandered around vaguely. I was encouraged by the amount of summer dresses and tops about that are really loose fitting. Let's face it, I'll need them. My daughter will probably come out and say, look at the state of this woman.

I finished most of my work yesterday, but kept around 5 emails back which I will send out periodically today so that my boss thinks I am doing something. Haha. Have to go and find somewhere to have my lady garden (or crazy bush as dh calls it) waxed today in prep for Thursday. Do I just get it waxed a little lower than normal. I'm not a fan of the Brazilian, but certainly don't judge those who are.

And if anyone has a positive CS experience, please feel free to share it with me as I am getting nervous now. I have looked at the threads in Childbirth but I don't trust them.

ShowOfHands · 10/05/2007 08:14

Morning all.

Sleep? Eh? What's that then? I slept from about 2.30am-4.00am and then 5am-6am. That's it. Contractions keep waking me up. They're about 10 minutes apart and lasting 50-60 seconds. Couple of real toe curlers where I couldn't do anything but curl up in a ball. Leaked all night but not leaking at all now.

Really I think my trousers are just too tight.

Pinkjenny · 10/05/2007 08:17

Oh I'm so excited SOH!!! Have you called the midwife?

cameroonmama · 10/05/2007 08:22

Go girl! We are here for you.. have you called the lovely mw and got the egg sarnies ready??

ShowOfHands · 10/05/2007 08:24

Don't be getting excited, it's indigestion.

I'm waiting until 9am to call. I'm not sure what time the community midwives start. I'm currently contemplating what I would do if they tell me the same as last night when I spoke to the delivery suite, that they can't come out. DH said we can just refuse to go to the hospital- which of course we can- but I don't want to cost the NHS money if they have to find a midwife from elsewhere. I also want a home waterbirth.

Doesn't matter really, as I'm not in labour...

ShowOfHands · 10/05/2007 08:25

My own lovely midwife runs a clinic today so probably wouldn't get her anyway.

Egg? Sandwich? Yuck.

cameroonmama · 10/05/2007 08:26

Don't go into denial now! Why wait until 9am to call? Call now and let them assess the urgency of it all, then you are first on the list so to speak.

largeginandtonic · 10/05/2007 08:36

SOH what is going on.....oh i so wish i could pop over and see you! I hope you have phoned the midwife and she has been to see you this morning. Keep all the pads you have been soaking she will want to see them. How are you feeling? Does the pain feel different from the false starts? Im notoroiusly rubbish at this stage and say things like "no, no it is just the same, nothing happening...." Course then all hell breaks loose and the baby appears in a a nanosecond.

Im sooooo excited, pace, pace

CONGRATULATIONS to Benson, Abbylou and Elkidee, what lovely names you have chosen. Pictures posted please, we need to remind ourselves why the hell we are doing this

SOH.......am texting now......

Pinkjenny very good idea to sit and couch it next week, make the most of it.

Could you all please STOP TALKING about losing weight...........im still stacking it on. Course it is all TYG's fault she is sending me some KK's, totally against my will.....

Lwatkins your mum does sound lovely, mine popped over day before yesterday and was looking in the empty pram and playing with the lovely Cath Kidston nappy bag TYG sent me. She is getting very excited too.

Oh FFS, one of the twins has just come in, he has banged his head off the table in the front room and is bleeding everywhere. It looks like i may be sat in casualty this morning. I have sent him away with a cold compress and told him to SIT STILL. No chance of that, those boys were born with ants in their pants.

largeginandtonic · 10/05/2007 08:42

Pace....pace.....

Have to do the school run in a mo, Jacob looks ok. Head not pouring blood anymore. They would only 'glue' it anyway.

ShowOfHands · 10/05/2007 08:58

Spoken to the oncall midwife. She shouted at me as she realised that I was in the middle of packing DH off to work. Said I'm not to be left alone under any circumstances. I've sent him to the tip instead. And to the shops to get some biscuits for the midwife.

Contractions about 8mins apart. Told midwife not to worry and I'll call back if it looks like I'm pushing. Homebirth is fine for today, am on a list of women with heartburn or something.

aprilmeadow · 10/05/2007 09:15

Congrats BBB - lovely names!!

WOOHOO SOH is having a baby. Come on Mathilda we all want to see you

LG&T hope you dont have to spend any time in a&e today. I havent got any kk's in the house at the mo, but i do have a lovely big box of cookies (similar to millies cookies) from the wonder that is costco! Yummmy

Ella is 1 month old today - where the hell has that time gone?

MrsJB - hope you had a good evening with your dsis.

largeginandtonic · 10/05/2007 09:15

bhhghdfjtycg, jhugh, sorry, bkjgyfytfhvhg, mouth full, gchgfftf, donuts are here....

SOH is mooing, told her thats the bit i look forward to most

ShowOfHands · 10/05/2007 09:17

Pah! Was determined to sit serenely and contract quietly to myself in the corner. Why every 8 minutes do I find myself flinging my contorted body onto hands and knees and making a noise like a banshee? This is not like they portray it in the films.

DH has gone out to the tip. May have been a bad idea I think. I can't rub my own back. He's been asked to go into work just to cover the lunchtime shift. Dunno if that's a great idea.

largeginandtonic · 10/05/2007 09:21

Now SOH im not normally a violent\shouty type of person but if you do not get J home this instant and tell him to stay next to you at all times....despite this 12lb baby strapped to me i may descend upon you in all my wrath. I mean that in the nicest possible but MOST FORCEFUL way

ShowOfHands · 10/05/2007 09:23

I have his mobile, he is uncontactable... I may be a bit too stubborn I've decided.

NNNeieienfieoanf iodifja ifujdoijf hdfihd

Wish I was eating donuts, I'm not I'm making noises unheard of in these parts since 1972 when the cows all went a bit funny during the summer solstice.

aprilmeadow · 10/05/2007 09:23

Absolutely not!!!! Your dh needs to stay with you!!!
