Morning......

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
scootermum · 10/05/2007 20:31

Well it jsut goes to show..Im not sure re this...just becuase we dont have a dishwasher but would've thought boiling water would do the same job anyway..Got our sterliser down the other day and it smelled vile as I dont think we emptied it properly after the last time we used it..so if we do sterlize, we will have to get a new one I think..

How are you anyway Kel..you havent been on in a bit..your section is the day after my EDD, so I guess we are on count down together now!(And LWatkins is the same day as me I think, although she has been quiet today, maybe she is in labour!)

scootermum · 10/05/2007 20:31

Apologies re my spelling. very tired and trying to make soup at the same time as watching out for news on SOH..

notsolilKel · 10/05/2007 20:38

ah making soup. something useful, how good of you...

Feeling like I'm carrying bowling ball in my belly, decidedly against the idea of getting any bigger. Trying like hell to stay busy so thoughts of helping this one along stay in the back of the mind - need to make it till at least Sunday (37 wks). Not hard considering DS has been alternately v entertaining (attempting to make first steps and first spoon feeds or total PITA (teething, MMR, ear infections).

Don't have a text buddy yet btw Scoot - interested, let me know

scootermum · 10/05/2007 20:46

Sure, text me your number on my yahoo if you like, [email protected] I will text you with mine..
Be warned though reception around this village is not what it could be..we are in the dark ages around here..

DD had her MMR yesterday and has been a horror ever since..I thought I would get at least a weeks grace, but apparently not
Well done to your DS on his first steps BTW!I found it really odd when DD first walked, as if she'd grown up a stage over night..(also a huge relief as I was struggling to carry her everywhere over my bump!)

notsolilKel · 10/05/2007 20:54

i should clarify. he is taking steps, but not actually successfully walking upright...hence the entertainment value! hope he figures it out soon - poor bump is quite sore end of the day from bearing the brunt of little knees jabbed into it!!

bit about the changing bag made me smile btw - today I had to wrestle myself away from the changing bags at J Lewis ... just desperate to buy something after drooling at racks and racks of yummy summery clothes for non-pg women. God it's been ages since I wore something NOT square shaped with a giant waistband!!!

scootermum · 10/05/2007 21:00

I know..saw a lovely Maxi dress today,at the Oasis outlet shop, so a bit cheaper than would normally be and had to talk myself out of it-no point as the Lord alone knows what size I will end up after the baby comes..(HA!size 10 if I stick with Mrs JB's slimming world!)

Will this rain ever let up?The real Scooter has just come in drenched..quite funny, serve him right for getting up and getting the rest of us up, at 4.30 am..little wretch..

scootermum · 10/05/2007 21:01

Getting a bit antsy now re SOH..No news is good news I hope...

largeginandtonic · 10/05/2007 21:10

Nope Scoot, he just fancied it! We have to call him Reverend DH now...PMSL.

He went upstairs to put the twins to bed and they were praying for him, ROFL.

SOH has been very quiet now for ages. I want to text but hate to barge in to what could be chaos\gingerbread snaffling.

Im sat on my birthing ball, back killing me. Baby OP, sure that is why.

Hope everyone else is ok

scootermum · 10/05/2007 21:13

But technically he could do it though?!And christenings..ooh, maybe we should get all the babies done en masse and the reverend DH could do it!
How did he do it, on the interweb?

largeginandtonic · 10/05/2007 21:32

Hello I can Baptise people, lovely certificates. (Mr LG&T)

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 21:39

Don't know if the MIL would approve of that. She's on a hotline to the bishop. Hehehehe.

scootermum · 10/05/2007 21:42

Nor mine..all the more reason to do it IMO..lol, I can just see her face..
Hi to Mr Gandt..are you getting practice in for when you post to give us news of your lady wifes labour?

scootermum · 10/05/2007 21:44

DH has just come in and has bought me a new Caramel Mcflurry..(its almost as it it were designed just for me...given my penchant for anything caramel..)and thats why I married him...

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 22:06

Jealous of your McFlurry.

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 22:26

Have to go to bed. Hope all is ok in the SOH household. If I'm up in the night; I'll check in.

Pebblemum · 10/05/2007 22:31

Still no news then?

Whats the bet they've forgotten all about us sat here waiting and they are snuggled up with baby matilda and not a care in the world

Really hope i do not go into labour before dh can help me wash my hair later (easier if he does it), i just looked in the mirror and ive got splashes of paint all over me and a lovely blob in my hair (i thought ds2 got messy when he painted lol)Oh well i guess i should get back to it, will pop back on later to see if there is any news.

Oh by the way had midwife yesterday and she took great pleasure in confirming what the consultant said the other week about me having a 'lovely size' baby in other words 'big'. She also said that the LO has a lovely big round bum so i guess she takes after her mum then lol. The head is now engaged and i feel a lot happier as i had this fear that the LO would turn again just to be awkward. I get to see my midwife in 2wks on my edd but she doesnt think i will have to keep it (yay hope shes right and the next time i see her I have a baby in my arms)

Right definately off to do more painting otherwise my hall will never get finished. TTFN

scootermum · 10/05/2007 22:45

Crikey Pebble, dont you think you should stop now?Its practically the middle of the night woman!
Good news re the baby..'lovely size', I like it...My midwife has no idea what size my one is..and until last week didnt know how she was lying..I wonder if its coz she cant feel it properly underneath all my horrid fat!

Have to say Mcflurry was ruddy nice , (really, not just peddling the 'family business').Has given me heartburn but all worth it..

Im turning in now as well, am knackered-zero chance of me getting anywhere near to watching Question Time, (it used to be my regular watch on a Thurs, dont think Ive seen it, or more than 5 mins, since September!)

Sending lots of love to the SOH's..hope its all going/gone well..I wish there was some news..will no doubt be up at 3 ish or some horrid time again though, so will check in soonest..
Also our other two who were in action yesterday, Creena and Anemne...and I wonder how SKY is getting on with her little one..
oh so many babies to think about now!

Night all..

MKG · 11/05/2007 00:03

Scooter,

I am appalled that you had to clean your own bath. What do the nurses get paid for? What are orderlies paid for? Now I know why so many UKers get home births: If you have to clean up everything at the hospital and do everything for yourself there is no point in going, and you might as well stay home.

Pebblemum · 11/05/2007 00:03

Oh its not fair i need to go to bed and there still isnt any news

On the plus side i have finished my painting, well sort of, dh still needs to go over it properly with a few more coats before its officially finished. What on earth possessed me to paint the walls turquoise and cream when i first moved in here, ok it looked nice (honest, people always used to comment on how nice it looked) but the turquoise is proving a bugger to cover. What makes it worse is we are going for a natural and wood look to the hall this time around so the walls need to be painted a light colour lol no wonder dh has been putting it off for so long

Oh well i suppose I should turn the pc off, even if SOH hasnt had the baby yet i expect they will be too tired to post any time during the night, bugger i know im going to be thinking of them all night now

See you all in the morning!!

Lwatkins · 11/05/2007 00:54

Still no news on SOH I see, have been back to check a few times today. Hope your ok lovely

Still feeling fairly fed up, I just feel so unable to be like a normal human being! Walked into town earlier and it nearly killed me! Had to stop and sit several times and everytime I did people would pass me and say 'not long now'. I felt like growling at them, but instead settled for laughing hysterically whilst twitching. Scared them all away eventually

Oh and I had Gregs too, YUM. Have a sausage and baked bean melt waiting for me downstairs atm - it's calling to me. Know I shouldn't but feel myself getting out of bed and heading towards the kitchen........

Oh and got some stuff for heartburn out of Holland and Barrats that seems to be working. It's called 'New Era. A homoeopathically prepared biochemic remedy for acidity, heartburn and dyspepsia'. You just pop 4 of the little tablet thingys on your tongue and let them dissolve - fabulous little devils. No taste to them either, good stuff.

Ho hum, dad's home from work tommorrow afternoon so that's something to look forward to (works away during the week). Have been having lovely long chats with my mum about everything in the evenings. Sat up on her bed nattering away like a couple of old biddies lol. She painted my nails for me tonight so at least that's something to make me feel like less of an alien!

Right am of to bed, back on tommorrow for an SOH update. Night

madeindevon2 · 11/05/2007 06:17

morning peeps. still no news i see. just had some cornflakes and feeling less yucky than i was half hour ago. all quiet on the western front....might go back to bed then!

InTheseShoes · 11/05/2007 06:31

I'm up too - the SOH's were my first thought, really hoping all is well.

Been up since 5.10am, absolutely starving!

twelveyeargap · 11/05/2007 07:09

Mrsjaffabiffa · 11/05/2007 07:18

Morning everyone, think we have all been consumes with SOH thoughts all night. I kept checking to see. Have gone in to worry mode now. Texted her about 7.30 but have had no reply. I really, really hope they are just too busy clearing out the pool, feeding the midwife, snuggling Mathilda, snaffling gingerbread.

Worry.....worry.....

No news from Aneme or Creena either, and today we have Cam to think of too! Cant believ all the stress has not put the rest of us in to labour.

Scooter you may have to stand at the top of the hill in your village till Cam's DH has text you to say all is well. Is that ok?

Your caramel mcflurry sounds delish, i managed to get a creme egg one the other day, think they must have lots left over from Easter. Pretty sure i got about 2 creme eggs whizzed up in the ice cream!! It was bloomin lovely.

Im off to have a donut (yes there are some left) Think i had 5 yesterday!!!!
