Morning......

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
scootermum · 10/05/2007 19:02

lol at your abs MKG!I very nearly bought some hand weights in TK Maxx today, then realised I would only be kidding myself..

Its the bottom of my bump thats hard at the moment-feels like it weighs a ton..

Sigh of relief- DD has obliged by going to bed so far so very well, it has seemed to be a very loooong day today....DH working late tonight so going to make him some dinner for later , do all the cleaning, (ruddy viewings tomorrow, change the sheets on the bed, do DD's bottles, put the washing out-and by the time ive done all that Mathilda will surely be here...

Wish there was some news, but dare say they are quite busy

scootermum · 10/05/2007 19:06

Also need to hide the change bag I got in TK's as well, before DH gets home..(I already bought a new one a few weeks ago, but this one is a red floral one with polka dot trim, and I couldnt resist it as thought it would look such a treat with the red P and T)Anyway, DH can have the other one for when he is out with the the girls on his own, as he wouldnt be seen dead with a flowery number..
I love it so much I might try and put a picture of it on my profile..plus it was only £15..so he cant go too mad..

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 19:07

Bugger. Although, it is a noticable hardening...

Would love to know what's happening in Norfolk. Hopefully she's tucked up in bed with Mathilda and too loved up to be bothered with the likes of us.

aprilmeadow · 10/05/2007 19:10

I thought we would have news by now..... >

scootermum · 10/05/2007 19:13

I thought that too, they wont want to ruin the moment by popping off to do a quick post..

I still say you never know TYG..Tightening and BH and you might be on a goer...

I have a theory re my labour anyway..When DD was born there was a yellow rose in bloom in our garden, (very unseasonably as it was Boxing day). There is a bud on the same rose about to burst any day now, hence clearly thats when Mae will be born..or something like that..(probably Monday when DH away, Scoot wanders off into kitchen to start soup, muttering darkly about the European pricing strategy for Big Macs...)

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 19:15

Well Scoot, if I go say, by Saturday, then I can be back on standby for you on Monday.

JonahB · 10/05/2007 19:16

OMG, this is so exciting!!! A live birth!!!! Good luck SOH!!!!

MKG · 10/05/2007 19:17

I can't stand this heat!!!! It's sticky and gross. I can't tell what's pee, discharge, or sweat. I'm walking around in my underwear sweating like crazy and I keep thinking that my water broke. I'm done I tell you. I'm done.

scootermum · 10/05/2007 19:18

Right lady..what can we do to hurry you along?I order you to walk briskly up to the lovley Sainsburys local and back, eat a curry and get a hold of your DH..(and whilst you're about it can you get me some grapes? As we have run out and thats all DD wants to eat at the mo)..I WILL get a ride in your Jag..even if I have to be in labour to do it...

MKG · 10/05/2007 19:19

Well tomorrow at this time I should know if I'm going to be induced or not. I don't think I'm going to fight it, because I'm ready to be done.

MKG · 10/05/2007 19:20

I bought a pineapple today (more because they're yummy than to induce labor) does anyone want a piece.

scootermum · 10/05/2007 19:21

oh bless you MKG..You said that about two weeks ago..I really hope it happens for you soon..least then you will be in a nice air conditioned hosp...
How hot is it over there?(Solid driving rain over Wareside, feel like Im in ruddy Noah's Ark)

scootermum · 10/05/2007 19:23

Im having a tin of pineapple chunks for my puddin' tonight..Cant be arsed getting the prickles off a real one..in fact how would one go about doing that?
(And whilst we are at it, is there an easy way to get the skin off a swede?Because whenever I try it I have to practically take a saw to the ruddy thing and hack away and by the time ive finished there is hardly any flesh left..)

MKG · 10/05/2007 19:25

It's 80 degrees Fareinheit, but we're expecting a rainstorm so it so humid which is making this whole sweating thing worse.

I can't wait to get to the hospital. Someone will bring me tea while I lay in bed. NO dh, no ds, I can just relax and not move for two days.
I can't wait to go to the hospital. I think only pregnant women say things like that.

MKG · 10/05/2007 19:27

I just cut the side off. I like fresh pineapple more than the canned/jarred that dh. Where he grew up in Mexico they only ate fresh fruit and veggies so now I'm addicted.

So eggplant parmesean for dinner and pineapple for dessert. MMMM I just finished lunch and now I'm hungry again.

scootermum · 10/05/2007 19:30

Only pregnant women in America I think..no one bought me any tea when I was in..it was every man for himself and I couldnt get any breakfast as I was tied to the bed by my catheter bag!
Is it too late for me to fly over and have the baby over there d'you reckon?

MKG · 10/05/2007 19:33

Come on over here. At my hospital we can have our private rooms next door to each other.
Wait you have to up for your meals . Our meals are brought to our beds. Ahhh breakfast in bed

Isn't it sad that I have to have a baby in order to get a vacation.

MKG · 10/05/2007 19:35

I have to say that I am lucky that I live in a suburban community that has 20 private rooms and 4 beds in triage for maternity patients.

Smaller hospitals in more rural areas share rooms and I think large city hospitals have a lot of shared rooms also.

When I go I'll take pictures of my room so that you guys can see how we live over here.

largeginandtonic · 10/05/2007 19:39

I have eaten Pineaple every night this week, i love it. Pretty sure it is not labour inducing though >

SOH has had the baby, im sure of it. She is lying in bed eating gingerbread as we chat

TYG sounds like BH to me, all good. At this late stage nothing is wasted, it all does something.

MKG sweating....walking round in underwear? Didnt you have snow a few weeks ago??? I thought our weather was weird. Currently pissing it down with rain and quite chilly BTW. I hate the rain, it makes my hair go curly

Scoot glad Lily has obliged and gone to bed, sit and chill.

DH cooking meatballs and pasta, i have a white top on....very dangerous. May have to change.

DH has been very busy the last couple of days, he sorted my bikini line lastnight, i asked for a landing strip to be left. Im not sure what kind of plane you could land on it though.... a micro one perhaps?!

He also got himself ordaned on the internet this morning.....see we lead such boring lives.......

MKG · 10/05/2007 19:43

I know last month we had a foot of snow and now it's full on summer (at least in the opinion of a pregnant woman.

Poor ds. I always think it's hot so I dress him based on how I feel. The other day I was so hot so I put him in shorts and a T-shirt. When I got to my moms house she gave him a snack and he couldn't eat because his arms were shaking from being so cold. He really is paying the price for this pregnancy.

octo · 10/05/2007 19:46

CRASH

Just popping in from the April lot to wish you all the best of luck - may the force be with you

scootermum · 10/05/2007 19:50

Did he?!Why, is he going to marry someone, like Joey off of friends?
He is certainly a man of many talents..
My hair is a total disaster at the moment, weather not helping and since I had it cut I cant even tie it back..will have to get a sort of sweat band ala Andre Agassi for the birth I think..

MKG.. at your hospital..
Maybe its just my one, but there was no special treatment post partum..we had to clean the bath ourselves before using it!

Well, soup wont make itself I guess..must get up and do something..

I hope everything is ok chez SOH..
also did we hear from Creena or Anemne yet?

scootermum · 10/05/2007 19:53

But then it is free, dear old NHS..Wouldnt be without it...

Mrsjaffabiffa · 10/05/2007 20:03

I'm with you on the pineapple lg&t, I ate 3 last week, whole things 3 nights running. Very yummy but damn things just gave me heartburn and then escaped very quickly in the other direction. Ewwwwwww

I hope your right re, SOH

Hey ladies, lurking and just thought I'd post this to cheer you all up (well all of you hoping for more counter space in the kitchen, anyway...): why sterilisers aren't necessary .

I'm a bit of a renegade I'll admit (early weaning, premade formula bottles, chucked in the washable nappies after 1mo, etc etc) but this just made sense to me!

Watching and praying for all your safe deliveries...mine on 25th, by section, if not sooner
