Push her out, Push her out wayyyyy out!

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 11:20

Anyone want to guess at how many E numbers I've consumed so far today? LG&T sent me a big bag of sweeties and (after my muesli) I had, a Cherry Wham Bar, a packet of Refresher chews, a regular Wham and one of those dip thingys with the sweetie stick you dip into different flavours of fizzy stuff. There's fizzy stuff all over the bed. (Am sitting in bed with laptop.) Poor baby. WIll be going mad from the sugar. Oops.

DizzyBrummie · 10/05/2007 11:21

I second what Indith said.

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 11:21

scootermum · 10/05/2007 11:23

Midwife on the way.

Thanks for the cheer MKG, am assuming shotgun possition now.

Good to have you all so close by, gives us something to talk about and take SOH's mind off things (however briefly).

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 11:29

Not quite up to jumping up and down these days. oooh, I've got an appointment at 1pm. I'm going to have to miss it or the birth, sod it.

scootermum · 10/05/2007 11:30

You are amazing posting as you are about to give birth!...we are all here willing you on!(Remind Mr SOH to breathe as well as yourself!)

scootermum · 10/05/2007 11:32

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 11:32

I think that IS MrSOH posting, Scooter.

He said we're taking SOH's mind off things briefly...

madeindevon2 · 10/05/2007 11:33

go SOH!!!
seems a bit daft posting this with all the excitement going on but here goes....need a bit of help/advice.
im useless in the kitchen (dh does all cooking normally) anyway got 2 small chicken carcass from monday in fridge and i stupidly said i would "do something" with them. thinking i would ask mum! however mum is away and non contactable for something as trivial as making soup or something...what can i do? (been looking at dh cooking books but nothing seems to help.....)chicken noodle soup? risotto? what do i do? just put the chicken carcass in water and boil for a certain amount of time!? god i realise how useless i am in the kitchen. hoping im not so crap at motherhood...

madeindevon2 · 10/05/2007 11:35

SOH how is the pool?

scootermum · 10/05/2007 11:36

Oh...god im thick today...

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 11:38

Break up the carcasses as much as possible and put them in a pot with about 1.5 litres of water. Take any skin off the chicken as it will make the stock very greasy. Boil up and then leave on a fairly high simmer for about 2 hours. All the little bits of chicken should fall off into the water. Strain it and pick out hte bones and replace the chicken bits into the stock. Taste it, and if you think it's not quite chicken-y enough, then add a chicken stock cube (cheating I know...). Add lots of black pepper and orgegono or whatever herbs you like. Boil up with some sort of tiny pasta (or broken up spaghetti) and serve when pasta is cooked. Yummy. Keeps well too.

scootermum · 10/05/2007 11:38

Well he's amazing too, posting as his wife i about to give birth!(And clearly he is remembering to breathe..)

Mrsjaffabiffa · 10/05/2007 11:38

Made in devon. Ummmm chicen soup. Yumm

Srip the carcases, put in saucepan, cover with water, add 1 chopped onion, 2-3 potatoes. Boil for an hour. Strain, take out bones but put back in the potato and onion and any meat in strainer. Add 1/2 chicken stock cubes and season to taste.
Wizz in blender if you want a cream of chicken add milk now.

Thats just come from my Mum. We can share.

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 11:39

Oh, if you like onion in these things, you can boil a whole one with the carcass and remove later, or slice it up if you want to leave it in.

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 11:39

Great minds Mrs JB!

madeindevon2 · 10/05/2007 11:39

thanks very much TYG! off to the kitchen now.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 10/05/2007 11:40

You beat me to it TYG. LOL, Much for Much I'd say. Ummmm yummy though.

OP posts:
Mrsjaffabiffa · 10/05/2007 11:40
