can't be arsed to read a book
baby has just woken up (probably the ice-cream!) and is giving me a good kicking

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 22:53

PAUL---shag and marry and generally have norty wicked thoughts over. He is a bad bad man!

JUSTIN---makes my skin crawl and is a bit scary and pervy!

SIMON---that man is married ffs (he wears a wedding ring)! He must have kids! They must want to die!

Evening. Just got in from a lovely meal out. Stopped in a bar for a drink, but was smokey and feeling so uncomfortable, sitting or standing. Felt a bit bad at going home early just because I'm pg, but I just need to go to bed now! Was great to be out though, can't remember the last time. Smell all smoky though - urgh!

Hope you have all had good evenings. Holly, hope you manage to sort something out with DP.

Foxy, well done for your productive day! I had a pretty productive day too and I always feel much better than if I've pissed around on the computer all day.

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 22:59

Sounds like a good night bumper, glad you had fun!

Hi all. Thanks for being nice last night. I went to bed and slept ok, had a banana sandwich and slept a bit more (and still felt shit this morning and was pissed off with DH for not making an effort to get home from work early as I was ill - that's twice this week, when he hasn't even needed to be there...). Anyway. Visited my parents for a cup of tea this morning then cracked on and cleared out the cupboard under the stairs (more bloody empty cardboard boxes and one of the tubs whose lids I threw out the other day.) The boys have been little buggers but I have managed to mostly ignore them!

claire - am sorry to hear of your blood test. Worse because you had a child with you. Hope you are ok now. I have bloods this week (32ish I think). Is it for diabetes and iron?

derlor- glad your ds is ok. am of your weekend. Think my boys are going for a trial run at grannies next week... just one night (if they last that long).

Can I borrow your shotgun foxy? It's not to kill children, just to shoot the tyres of the three blokes with multiple noisy exhausts that share our garage block.

Holly - you could have the boys and plan for your waters to break so that it ruined their trainers.... I was reading about the amount could be a spoonful, maybe a teacup full. Not in my experience, a bloody bucket more like (ask my mum who had to clean the floor). Maybe you could ask their opinion (not that I would usually suggest something so reasonable) but maybe they won't even want to come that near "just in case" (you could watch one of those films - 9 months or similar - to make your point?)

Hope everyone else having a good weekend. Sorry if I've missed anyone but it's taken ages to catch up.

I AM NOT SWITCHING THE COMPUTER ON TOMORROW TIL I'VE DONE THE IRONING...

Night all. X.

foxybrown · 05/05/2007 23:00

LOL Holly!

Gosh, Bumper - its saturday night and you've been out with GROWN-UPS!! Am not sure if I am jealous or not!

riabutterflew · 05/05/2007 23:02

BTW, every time I get out of the bath I feel like my waters are gong to go woosh. Anyone else or is it just in my mind?

foxybrown · 05/05/2007 23:04

you don't mean that ria ... about the iron ... don't you know its incredibly unlucky to iron on a sunday?

ok, I made that up.

I got it Holly! Tell the boys its fine for them to come whenever they like up until the babies born, BUT insist they watch a birthing video, just in case anything happened so they know what to do/expect.

Bet you don't see them for dust ...

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 23:06

Lol, I'll make them watch discovery h&h for a while! Hairy fanjos and sagging boobs galore on that channel!

Well done for clearing out the cupboard under the stairs ria! I did it last week and it took me 3 days!! Sleep well xx

I feel waters going whoosh when I stand up.

But its the dam effect my big arse causes

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 23:07

My arse doesn't cause a damn effect, more like a tsunami!

foxybrown · 05/05/2007 23:08

Morning! Will I ever be able to lie in again? (actually don't answer that!). I'm bored nd in a shopping mood, but can't afford to spend any more money! Make me feel better and tell me how much you have spent on having this baby so far:

Crib and mattress: £45
Steriliser, changing mat, pump and misc: £70
Clothes: about £60
Car seat: £100
Books: £20
Things to make myself feel better during pg including osteopath, maternity clothes, natural remedies, comfort food: about £400!

Yet to buy: Cot mattress £100
Bedding: £15
Tens machine: £35 (ex rental one, can sell on ebay after)
Baby monitor: Going to see if we get any bargains at baby show if not ebay!
Sling: Want the buddha baby one but again going to check out the baby show first

Panicking as when I go on maternity leave I will have to make sure I put about £25 of my wages away for when my pay goes down to SMP. Not sure how we are going to manage! Why can't I have rich generous parents? (Or better still - a better paying job?!)

bumperlicious · 06/05/2007 08:57

Ok, that was meant to read 25% of my wages not £25!

foxybrown · 06/05/2007 09:10

morning bumper! you are bright and breezy this morning!

remember, you only buy most of this stuff once so its an investment. You now how to have loads of kids to get value for money!!

am watching homebirth diaries on discovery. not sure if its a good idea!

foxybrown · 06/05/2007 09:13

"now how"??? now have I mean

but I have been up most of the night with DS2. despite my joy that they all went to sleep beautifully last night, he woke up before 2 (I went to bed at midnight), got in with me (and DD) until about 3, when I put him back. 3.30 he put his light on and started to play (made him stop, he shares a bedroom with DS1) by 4am DS1 awake too and they are chatting. DS2 has found a torch by now. Mummy shouts, DS2 goes back to sleep until 8.30!! Mummy and DD up at 7 Gggggggggrrrrrrrr

so in answer to your question, no, you will never have a lie in again!!!

Daisybump · 06/05/2007 09:28

Bumper...as 2nd timer I should theoretically spend less money, but no....I think I've spent more more on maternity clothes...some of which will go on ebay listed BNWT as all I've done is tried them on. Last time bought them all in the sales just after Christmas, but needed them sooner this time, even though due date later

more on pram and car seat...single parent last time so careful with the pennies

more on cot....bought a second hand one last time

Borrowed lots of stuff last time, but have bought most this time. Gawd the little darlings are expensive aren't they?

Wishing now I hadn't given it all away, but after DS was born and DH and I apart....didn't think I would ever have another one.

On a huge economy drive at the moment, as we have two weeks holidays to fund and don't want to have to cancel as it wouldn't be fair on mystic red ranger...thankfully a lot of the tops and t-shirts I bought are just long length and not actually maternity and will do afterwards.

Foxy...quick question on the Next pj set.....is the vest top cut to accommodate your bump or not? I got some cheapie tops in ASDA that have BF clips...but they're definate maternity cut....thinking that's a bit odd as the two features seem mutually exclusive to me ??????
