Hello!

Have tested very early so not surprised to have to start this one off! Due 8 April I think.

Anyone joining me?

Azure - I had my scan at the Fetal Medicine Centre in London where they have the high quality scanning equipment. The doc said they could say with about 90% certainty the sex at 12 weeks but would confirm it at 20 weeks.

Seabird · 09/09/2004 20:29

motherpeculiar, good to hear from you. Really sorry to hear about your dilemmas though, and the losses in your family.

great news about your scan Strawberry! Your EDD is the day after mine . My friend was told (correctly) that she was having a girl at her 12wk scan at the foetal medicine centre - they told her it was 70% certain (presumably would've been higher odds if it had been a boy). I'm hopefully going to find out too. (Even though I KNOW it's a boy!)

Azure - know what you mean about it being irritating to be due near the end of the month. DD was due on the 24th so I had that last time (on another vastly inferior American board).

Hi everyone! Been away so it seems a long time since i posted. Just been catching up with all your news.
I saw my doc last week and he said the midwife will be contacting me - but she hasn't done yet, so not sure when that happens. very jealous of you all getting these nice early scans - i think my health authority only do the 20 week one - rats!

Roobie · 10/09/2004 12:33

Hi miranda2, I also went to see my GP today (am 9 + 5 ) and she said the midwife would be contacting me sometime around week 12 - so ages to wait really! I also won't be getting a scan until around week 20 but as I had no problems last time (and am feeling as sick as a parrot all the time!) I guess I am not too worried.

Lonelymum · 10/09/2004 13:24

Sorry to be shameless, but I would like to draw all pregnant ladies' attentions to the For Sale threads where I have advertised some maternity clothes for sale. Good luck with all your pregnancies!

qsack · 10/09/2004 18:10

hi, i just wanted to join the Due in April crowd. read this thread when there were only a couple of messages but i was only 5 wks and too afraid to post anything incase something bad happened. then had two bleeds and had to have a scan. all ok, apparently i've got some bruising on the outside of the uterus. now 9 + 6, feeling average! enjoying reading all the other stories and glad to see that i'm not the only one popping out already! slightly depressing.

Seabird · 10/09/2004 20:02

Hi - great to have you on board qsack! We're due within a day of eachother

qsack · 11/09/2004 19:17

great, lets hope it is. my ds was two weeks over, i'd rather not go through that again!

DelGirl · 12/09/2004 16:29

tis me again, can't spend too long on here so haven't caught up on everyone news, hope everyone is well. I am still feeling absolutely bl**dy awful and nothing I do seems to help. m/s seems to last all day and night. Had another scan on Wednesday as I felt things weren't right and the midwife was lovely and booked me in the same day. Everything was fine and the bab (as i'm calling him/her) had grown 3mm in 2 days . The sonographer said it was no wonder I was feeling sick . ooooh gotta go aka sick emoticon. Take care one and all

Seabird · 12/09/2004 18:43

Oh dear poooor you Delgirl, that sounds so horrid . V glad to hear all is well inside anyway, and that your midwife team are being supportive. Hope the nausea eases off soon. xx

fisil · 12/09/2004 19:08

your ms sounds awful delgirl ... but at least it's all in a good cause! Here's hoping it ends at 1 weeks!

aprilmeadow · 13/09/2004 13:05

Hi everyone - been really busy at work for the last week or two so havent been posting. Just spent the morning catching up!!

Sorry to hear that you are feeling yukky Delgirl. I can sympathise with you. I have had exactally that feeling for just over three weeks - but thankfully i seem to be turning the corner!! Hope you will do soon. I managed to combat m/s by eating like a pig! I have treid to keep as healthy as poss, but sometimes naughty food creeps into my hand! Only downside is that now i am having slight clothing issues.

It was lovely to read about all of you that have had scans - it must be wonderful to see your little person! I cant wait for mine! I am 9 +2 today and i should get my appt through in a week or two. They do scans in Surrey between 11 & 13 weeks.

Azure · 14/09/2004 09:45

Just checking in - not much to say, really. I told my parents I was pregnant at the weekend, and my sister knows as well. I will have to spill the beans tonight to my best friend as well. They are the only people I'm telling until I have my scan and know everything is ok. Still not many symptoms, which I know I should be very thankful for, reading the horrible times some of you are having. We've finally booked a holiday and are off to Spain for 9 days from next Tuesday - hurrah. I hope everything is well with all of you.

Roobie · 14/09/2004 19:19

How is everyone? Nothing much to report.... the m/s continues but is just about managable. We're off to France on Friday for a week in a holiday cottage in the French Alps - just a pity that I won't be able to indulge in loads of wine and ripe brie!! Still haven't told anyone about about being pg (apart from one close friend at work who is also ttc). Funnily enough we just got an email from sister-in-law announcing that she and dh's brother they are having another baby - due 16 March 2005!! DH's mother is going to be in seventh heaven having 2 new grandchildren!!!

Merlin · 14/09/2004 21:02

Hi all. Can't remember if I joined this thread (too lazy and tired to read it all through either . Anyway at the risk of repeating myself now in 9th week waiting for nuchal scan 6/10 and then I may stop worrying! (Had m/c in June). Feeling quite queasy but not throwing up (yet). I think I've got off lightly reading about some of the rest of you - hope everyone is doing OK.

xoz · 14/09/2004 21:20

Welcome Merlin. I just checked back and your name wasn't on the last listing that was made.
Hi everyone else too... I don't have much to report either... saw midwife on friday, will have scan at about 12 weeks, still feeling sick as a dog and sooo tired. She reckons my due date is 15 Apr, not 16, sooo what!!!!
Has anyone else got a problem with fruit and vege??? I just can't face anything, food wise, that is not deep fried or otherwise loaded with fat and salt!!!! Been living on chips, crisps, biscuits and chocolate. Everytime I eat fruit or veg I get the worst stomach cramps!!!!
It's hell to cook dinner each night, dh is a very healthy eater and doesn't like fried food, so I have to try to cook something that fits somewhere in the middle!!!
ARRRRGHHHHHH roll on second trimester!!!!

Merlin · 14/09/2004 21:35

hi xoz. your post made me laugh - glad I'm not the only one that just craves all the really bad food! We're staying with my mother at moment (having some work done on our house), and she keeps nagging me to eat fruit - I managed 3 pieces of peach but with much face pulling!!

miranda2 · 15/09/2004 15:38

Just got bored with waiting for the midwife to ring me, so rang her and she is coming to see me tomorrow! Hooray! Also found out that local policy has changed and I do get a 12 week scan - double hooray! Still don't feel at all pregnant (8 weeks now), apart from not being able to do my trousers up...

aprilmeadow · 15/09/2004 16:47

Hi girlies and welcome to Merlin..

I must confess that i too have been munching on the bad food!! Chocolate is the main one!

Still having clothing issues, but a colleague at work who had a baby 5 weeks ago suggested using an elastic band to allow more roon in trousers! She said to attach it to the button, thread through the hole and back on to the button. This trick worked for her and helped her clothes fit for a few extra weeks!!

sweetheart · 15/09/2004 17:00

am,
just popped in to say hello. Was hoping you'd be on msn this afternoon but never mind. Had the VAT consultant in anyway so I've been snowed under.
Will catch up with you on Fri - unless we are going for a drink tomorrow.
Speak to you later
love sh xxx

fisil · 15/09/2004 18:25

Hi Merlin!!

I've not been around much lately as I've had a major visit from the ms fairy! I've decided that this one must be the opposite of ds - so is either a girl, twins or very naughty. Or all three.

I've got my scan date - 21st October. I can't believe they're making me wait that long!

How is everyone else feeling?

xoz · 15/09/2004 22:22

Hi all, just thought I'd let you know a new tack I've been trying foodwise today.
Inspired by a link to the "You are what you eat" Tv show doctor's website (which I found on another hread on mumsnet) I went to Holland and Barrett today and got myself a big bag of raw nuts (mixed walnuts, cashews and hazlenuts) and a big bag of mixed seeds (sunflower, pepita and pine nuts). The website said these are full of good fats and help get your system going, which is what I feel like I need at the moment.
I've been munching on them all afternoon and haven't felt so sick or crampy as I had been, so far so good..... although I still had Burger King for Lunch mmmm... bacon double cheeseburger

miranda2 · 16/09/2004 14:35

I'm beginning to feel quesy! very odd - didn't have this with ds. Not actually sick, just constantly feeling like my trousers are too tight (even though they are my big ones from post-birth last time, and are actually hanging off me). Ick. Hope it doesnt' turn into full blown ms. DH very gleeful when i told him, and said it must be either a girl or twins!

mitzi · 17/09/2004 11:36

Hi, how is everyone? Fisil my scan isn't until 18th October its not fair is it having to wait that long. Well i have still got terrible morning sickness but it is easing slightly and still really tired.I cant wait for it all to pass so i can get back to some kind of normality.Still haven't told many people yet I cant really get excited about it till i have had my scan.

aprilmeadow · 17/09/2004 12:06

Hi everyone - i am still waiting for my scan date. Everyday i rush home to see if it has arrived. So far all i get is junk mail

Definately think that i have turned the corner with the ms. fingers crossed that it calms down for the rest of you.

Just found out that my brother-in-law and his partner are expecting around the same time as me. I am really gutted! I was really excited that ours would be the eldest grandchild, and now it might not be. Daft I know, but cant help feeling annoyed. Sorry had to rant as dh thinks its funny.
