@DwangelaForever have added you

tappitytaptap · 14/02/2018 09:36

Are people still going to chat on here? I feel for some reason like joining a facebook group might be tempting fate...although in my warped mind for some reason its OK to join one of these antenatal groups on MN!

brianodriscoll · 14/02/2018 10:34

Thanks for the reassurance @Purplelooby

I'm the same @tappitytaptap...I am also concerned about the minute possibility there's someone I know on there !

ladydolly · 14/02/2018 10:40

I'm on the original fb group but actually prefer chatting here. With my 1st pg half the board went off to fb and about 20 o f us stayed on mumsnet.

My dd (3) is off nursery with a cold. I am trying to juggle work and her while feeling quite sick today. Roll on 6pm when daddy gets home!

Filzma · 14/02/2018 11:00

I prefer the anonymity of these boards too. Not even on FB anyway.
Nausea and heartburn has been on and off this past week. Bracing myself for these next weeks. Exhaustion levels quite bad.

betsy2018 · 14/02/2018 11:17

I will be staying here, not a fan of Facebook and quite like reading through people's updates on a break or lunch : ) hope everyone's feeling well today, cramps are back which now I know are normal I'm quite pleased about having zero symptoms was making me panic a little

running3 · 14/02/2018 12:28

I've been lurking for a while but been scared to join in!! EDD for me is 6th October. After a mc in Dec I've been keeping quiet! Hope everyone is ok despite various unpleasant symptoms! Lots of you with cramps- I haven't had cramps but quite a sore stomach this week and hunger pains - does the soreness sound normal? Too easy to worry any it!!

running3 · 14/02/2018 12:29

*about it

brianodriscoll · 14/02/2018 12:30

@betsy2018 yep that's me, worry about the symptoms I do have, worry about them going away!!

Wish my booking in appt wasn't so far off as I think that will provide reassurance.

Penny31 · 14/02/2018 12:37

Hi, I haven’t joined Facebook group yet. I’d like to keep chatting on here :)

betsy2018 · 14/02/2018 12:50

I know, when is yours? Mines the 2nd of March. Rightly or wrongly I booked an early scan for Saturday I just couldn't wait any longer. Starting to worry it may be too soon and could risk not seeing what we all want to. Then having even more stress in the wait for the 12 week scanConfused

bearhuggy · 14/02/2018 12:59

Hi ladies, sorry for being a bit quiet on here, been mad busy with work as its london fashion week this weekend so my busiest time of year !! Looking forward to Tuesday and things calming down for a bit. I have booked a viability scan for Tue morning which I am looking forward to, had one with my son and found it such a reassurance. Then heading up North to see my family so planning on telling them then, all being well, fingers crossed.

@tappitytaptap I don't do facebook anymore so will defo be on here, hope most others will stick around and chat here too!

@running3 sore tummy sounds normal to me, is it in one place or all over? I get ligament pains all the time but put it down to the hormones.

@ladydolly I feel ya, was having to juggle my lively 18m old yesterday and a ton of work because the nanny was sick...ended up sticking him in the creche at my gym !! Hope today goes quick for you :)

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 14/02/2018 12:59

Oh I'm glad some people are still here! I seem to spend my life on Facebook for work. I'm terrified I'll accidentally post something and people will guess! Am ridiculously excited that I'm starting to get morning sickness. Got GP appointment tomorrow to get referred to the hospital I had DD in. Suddenly starting to feel like this might be a real pregnancy Wink

bearhuggy · 14/02/2018 13:00

how many weeks are you @besty2018?

betsy2018 · 14/02/2018 13:17

Hiya, I'm 7 weeks today from start of last period but have occasionally had long cycles. So from that date I will be 7+3 come Saturday

rachkmp · 14/02/2018 13:49

Glad some people are staying here too, facebook worries me as I feel I'll see someone I know or accidentally post something!

Does anyone have any good tips for nausea or exhaustion? I literally feel as though all my energy has gone. Working from home today haven't hardly left my bedroom - thank god for laptops!

ladydolly · 14/02/2018 13:56

rach have you tried the seabands? I would not have survived my last pregnancy without them. Am using them this time as well but nausea isn't as bad as last time so far. I think its a case of finding what works for you, biscuits or crackers work for lots of people. I find museli often helps. If I don't have something right before bed I wake up feeling sick.

ladydolly · 14/02/2018 13:57

For the exhaustuon I've got nothing other than going to bed at 7.30 for the next few weeks. It will pass.

bearhuggy · 14/02/2018 14:18

@betsy2018 if you have an early viability scan this weekend then you are in the date range for them seeing the sack and a heartbeat, they will also do a measurement to check all on track. It's a funny scan as you are basically looking at a little jellybean blob !! But amazing to see it have a flickering heartbeat. Try not to worry, this early waiting game is tough but no reason for you to be concerned and instead focus to the weekend and seeing your little tiny babe for the first time !

@rachkmp I try and eat little and often, I find protein and vit B rich snacks like nuts or nut butter on toast really good. I also find eating something in bed before getting up and rushing around really helps in the morning, I get my husband to bring me some tea and muesli, toast, burcher oats etc etc...nothing like waiter service first thing!! Drink lots of water and go to bed early, even if its to just read so you are getting as much rest as possible. It does all pass tho which is good to focus on.

bearhuggy · 14/02/2018 14:21

oh also...for sickness I loveeee anything citrus in water, fresh limes and lemons, as find plain water hard to stomach at times.

betsy2018 · 14/02/2018 14:41

@bearhuggy ah thankyou for the reassurance! I am SO excited and then keep getting a pang of... what if it's bad news. Going to take your advice and look forward to Saturday such an exciting time!

MamaL86 · 14/02/2018 15:40

Hi ladies! Can I join please? Got my bfp yesterday - still feels very surreal, particularly as I have very few symptoms!
First question of many, at what stage did you self-refer for booking in appointment? Wondering if I should leave it a couple of weeks before filling in the form or do it now?

bearhuggy · 14/02/2018 15:50

ahhh congrats @mamaL86 ! I think it works differently here in London as we have to go to the GP for an initial appointment, they then send you as a referral to the midwife team for bloods, blue book etc and then they refer you to the hospital for the 12 week scan. I personally would do it now so it's done and you don't have any delays on appointments / scans.

In other news, I have just eaten my fourth meal of the day .... anything to stop the nausea vibes Confused

ladydolly · 14/02/2018 15:55

Welcome mama. I called my docs and booked direct with the midwife for 4+4, it was either then or at 9 weeks as that was the only appt left. I wanted and early scan due to previous loss so went for an early one.

I have my early scan on Sunday (9am!) when I'll be 7+2. We have a party the night before so will need DP to stand way back from the nurses with his boozy breath!!
