All was going pretty ok symptoms wise until I got hit my a wave of nausea in Tesco this morning . All I could think was “please never let me be sick in public”. Anyhow I’m just planning to ignore it for now Grin

Got home to find my first midwife appointment had arrived in the post. Strangely I feel quite scared and don’t want to go!! What on Earth?! Seems like a ludicrous reaction to me Hmm

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 09/12/2017 14:28

Tentatively stepping aboard following a bfp at 8dpo. Still very early days and trying not to get too excited as I had a go before my bfp with dd1.
Edd 24th August but i imagine i'll probably have an elcs at 39 weeks, folling an emcs with dd1.
Dd1 will turn 3 a couple if weeks before the baby arrives, which will be nice that she gets a special day focussed on her before she has to deal with a sibling!
Loved being in the mn group during my pregnancy with dd1 (although a different name then); it'll be funny if I 'know' any of you from back then!

StrawberryLemonade · 09/12/2017 14:41

Hello everyone just getting bfps! Congratulations :)
TinoTheArtisticMouse yeh I loved my mn group with DC1 as well, made some really good friends and a few of us are even going on a weekend away together in a couple of months time! The power of mn! I NC for this one though just cos I think for anyone snooping I would be totally identifiable from the old threads.

franktheskank · 09/12/2017 22:50

Hi got my bfp this morning I'm only 9/10 dpo but have a strong line!

Boobs are bloody killing me!Grin

MrsS1984 · 09/12/2017 22:53

Hi all!

Congratulations to all those posted so far. I took my test today and got BFP with an EDD 14th August. Now a little bit anxious as had a MC earlier this year but just need to chill and let nature take its course. Think we'll probably look into an early scan but even that seems soooooo far away Grin

LadesC · 10/12/2017 05:20

Hi everyone. Been awake since 4am as my mind is racing! Got bfp yest....hoped for as we were trying but totally unexpected as I had a negative digi a few days back, Im nearly 41, we only dtd once this month (a day after i ovulated) etc etc! But it was the most definite positive Ive ever had! Think im 4 weeks as by lmp im further on but my cycles have been 31 days and I ovulated day 20. Already have a gorgeous 2 and a bit yr old girl. So if this sticks they will prob have very similar birthdays as we were at almost exactly this point 3 yrs ago with a 6 wk scan on xmas eve.

SpriteGirl · 10/12/2017 05:51

Morning all

Congratulations to all new BFPs

For the last week now I have been getting up in the night to go to the loo and then struggling to get back to sleep. Not sure if it’s pregnancy insomnia or just my mind racing. Anyway been awake for a while now.

Been getting some mild cramp like pain in my legs, anyone else ??

WeAllShine · 10/12/2017 06:14

Wow, so many new BFPs! Congratulations everyone!
I was awake a lot last night, partly thanks to DD2 but also had some cramping and that woke me then couldn’t get back to sleep because I was worrying...it’s going to be a long 9 days til our first scan!

Sparklesdontshine · 10/12/2017 07:16

I'm having quite a lot of cramping, it's worrying me! I just got 2-3 weeks on a clear blue though so I'm trying to be reassured!

StrawberryLemonade · 10/12/2017 07:33

I'm getting intermittent cramping too but trying not to worry as it happened in my last pregnancy. Assume it's just stretching and the placenta embedding into uterus causing the cramping.
Hope everyone is ok today. I spoke to DH last night and have essentially decided we can't justify spending money on an early scan and by the time we get to after Christmas it'll be nearly time for NHS scan anyway so think we are just going to wait for that. Unless I change my mind Blush

mamabearxoxo · 10/12/2017 07:57

No cramping here but feel sick with worry like something has gone wrong Confused my legs are like jelly and I'm terrified to go to the toilet. I feel ridiculous for feeling like this!!

StrawberryLemonade · 10/12/2017 08:03

Oh mamabear has anything happened to make you feel like that? Sending a supportive hug and I hope you can relax a little as the day goes on x

mamabearxoxo · 10/12/2017 08:08

I've woke up to brown discharge which isn't the be all I know but I can't help thinking, I know what's coming. It's silly but I don't feel I'm worth being a mother to another little human and feel like the chance to is going to be taken away.
I had two chemical pregnancies this year, a 5 week mc last year I think my mind is on over drive
Thank you x

Gizzymum · 10/12/2017 09:10

@mamabearxoxo so sorry to hear you feel that way. I'm 4+4 and had brownish discharge yesterday and the day of my BFP. I also had it at this point in my first pregnancy (which resulted in my DS). I think it's just the old implantation bleeding working its way out so try not to worry.
When you have your booking in appt with the midwife perhaps mention to her how you've been feeling. 9 months is a long time to be worrying for. Sending hugs.

Kiki275 · 10/12/2017 09:15

Hi all,
looking at the calculator I'm due mid August. Got my first BFP yesterday(actually got three) - someone really needs to write a book on "50 shades of positive" as I didn't quite trust the first two, they definitely aren't as clear cut as in the movies!!
This will be mine and my fella's first child and we spent most of last night sat in in happy disbelief.
How is everyone else going to cope with the "too early to tell, but they'll notice I'm not knocking back bottles of wine over xmas"thing? x

Gizzymum · 10/12/2017 09:31

Congratulations @Kiki275 !

For the "how will they not notice" we told immediate family right away. I also told one of my closest friends so she could help me hide the not drinking aspect. I also volunteered to drive on lots of nights out etc. That or being on "antibiotics" is a good one but obviously you can't use it too often (perhaps use when you have lots of drinking opportunities within a 10 day period, or with different groups of friends who don't know each other). People are too polite to ask why.

Kiki275 · 10/12/2017 09:47

Thanks @Gizzymum, the antibiotics thing is a really good call!!
I genuinely have two upcoming dental appointments for fillings so I'm sure he could quite easily find a phantom infection too. I did dry January last year so can easily do that again too afterwards.
We're going to tell his parents just before xmas as we stay on the family farm over the festive period, but no siblings or grandparents etc. just yet. Whilst I'm quite chilled out about it, I don't want to jinx anything.x

Babydreaming · 10/12/2017 09:49

@gizzymum I’m also 4+4! Scary early times.

I had my sons 1st birthday this weekend so couldn’t avoid alcohol! I accepted a glass of prosecco and then occasionally went into the kitchen when no one was in there and threw a bit dow the sink or poured it into my husbands glass!

Whenever someone uses the antibiotic line I always assume they’re pregnant...there’s only 1 antibiotic you can’t drink with and it’s not too common!

Babydreaming · 10/12/2017 09:51

I Don’t think anyone would say anything bough even if thy assumed by you are pregnant!

Gizzymum · 10/12/2017 10:06

@Babydreaming I just double checked and I'm 4+3. Nearly EDD buddies although last time my EDD was put back a day at the 12 week scan.

As for the antibiotics, the pregnancy thing is never my first thought (perhaps I'm a bit naive) but did a google and the most common antibiotic you can't drink with is one which treats vaginal infections 😳🤣. Perhaps I won't use that excuse this time...🤔

Kiki275 · 10/12/2017 10:22

Hi,
just picked this off the NHS "metronidazole – an antibiotic sometimes used to clear dental or vaginal infections, or to clear infected leg ulcers or pressure sores".
I might change the reason for each occasion; some of my friends would ordinarily both guess and say something, but they all know I won't drink and drive!
With regards to the vaginal infection, as soon as you start reeling off symptoms, most people will change the subject pretty quick Blush. I used to work in a mill, all the guys would ask where my bruise came from (I bruised like a peach when my implanon was changed) and as soon as I mentioned it - change of subject x

spydie · 10/12/2017 10:57

Congrats on the BFPs and welcome! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm full of cold and feel hideous, fast remembering it's not fun only being able to take paracetamol, and I'm trying to limit that. Misses sudofed and night nurse Sad

We are hosting over Xmas so I plan on drinking elderflower prosecco.

StrawberryLemonade · 10/12/2017 12:37

Spydie I feel your pain I'm all stuffy and cold-like too! It's miserable. I'm going to get a saline nasal spray I think.
mammabearxoxo I hope everything is ok and you feel better. As you say browny discharge isn't necessarily a bad sign but I can understand your worry.
I've bought Schloer to have over Christmas rather than booze. If I even want it! Feeling nauseous this morning for the first time.

mamabearxoxo · 10/12/2017 12:44

Don't feel better, constantly wiping and checking. I'm not even sure if it's brown Confused my eyes are playing mad tricks. I just wanna have a good cry tbh

Subo2018 · 10/12/2017 14:01

Feeling a little deflated and tired today. I've been so excited for the last week and now it's a waiting game until our early scan on the 22nd. I feel nervous and worried and very impatient. I seem to have developed insomnia as well and just feel shattered. How's everyone else feeling this Sunday?
