Can't believe we need more space... again...

Catz, yes been getting very tired. And while cooking is OK (in that I can reach the rings) and DH does the dishwasher loading/unloading as a) he always has and b) I can't bend to it. What I am having problems with is that when we eat away from the dining table (which we are having to do at teh moment because of decorting) the plate is so far away from me because of bump that I inevitably spill half of it over myself.

And yes, getting quite emotional. Saw 28 weeks later, and enjoyed it but found it more disturbing than I normally find these things. And found myself snivelling at the lyrics to a Pogues song on my MP3 player on the bus the other week.

Jamantha · 04/06/2007 17:22

decorting?? = decorating!

twoplusone · 04/06/2007 17:27

How busy have you all been, chatting away..
Inlaws still here will catch up when they have ogne.

Take care all.

MelissaM · 04/06/2007 18:27

Hi all. Sorry to hear some of you didn't have such a great weekend. Hope today has been better.

On the slings/ baby carriers discussion, I've been given a babybjorn carrier. I've been reliably informed (and shown) that they can be used successfully for discreet bf when out and about.

Divaskychick - I saw 28 wks later too. My LO went nuts at all the loud bits (most of the film) and I think I spent most of the time skwirming in my seat because of how much s/he was kicking me. Can understand you getting upset with dh's comments.

Catz, I'm really tired too, but mine's due to not sleeping.

Stig, sorry to hear about your bleed. Hope all goes well from now on. I know how scary it can be. Do make sure you take it easy (even if mw didn't tell you to).

Jamantha - glad someone else keeps spilling food over their bump too. I keep writing on my bump aswell - not sure what that's about. At least I finish work on Friday (yippe) so maybe I won't have to keep scrubbing my clothes to get rid of the ink!

MelissaM · 04/06/2007 18:31

Forgot to say, have my consultants appointment tomorrow for a homebirth assessment. Hope she says I can still have one despite the bleeding, given that it wasn't actually anything to do with the baby. Will keep you informed.

DivaSkyChick · 04/06/2007 19:00

You guys amaze me that you can address each person's post in each of yours! My brain fogs of at the thought of trying...

Having said that, can address the last post - MelissaM - yay on getting your meeting for the home birth discussion. mine was booked today as well. Also am in process of booking my hypnobirthing class and searching desperately for a doula who isn't already booked up. Have on appt. tomorrow afternoon but she is a little over extended and told me I should really try to keep calling around.

Caroline - definitely no more horror movies for me, probably drowned the poor baby in adrenalin and anxiety. The apprentice, tho? Too depressing that television has come to this, I think. (hides her American Idol fan club tee shirt):O

Jamantha · 04/06/2007 19:07

Yes LO did "get a right jiffle on" at the louder parts of 28 weeks later. Not a pacth on when I went to see Guys and Dolls the other week though - with front row seats right next to the orchestra.

MelissaM · 04/06/2007 19:12

Divaskychick - dh suggested opening the discussion in another tab (or window) and typing replies as I am reading through. Apparently it's what he does with the numerous forums he goes on. I was wondering about a Doula, but dh won't part with the money! Well he is an accountant. Hope your appointments and searching go well.

MelissaM · 04/06/2007 19:13

ouch, Jamantha!

DivaSkyChick · 04/06/2007 19:23

Thanks hon, great advice!

Jamantha · 04/06/2007 19:29

Good luck with your appt tomorrow, MelissaM

JAM- really, really glad you got properly assessed this time and that all seems to be ok- what a relief. Hope you get a good nights sleep after all that drama!

MelissaM- Good Luck with your appointment

Stigaloid- sorry to hear about your scare, think I would have been terrified...really glad everything is ok- now try to take it easy!! (I know, easier said than done!)

Getting very tired and pretty emotional here too... don't get me wrong I am very, very pleased to be so far along in my pregnancy after DS but finding it quite tough now too if I'm honest...lots of back aches and just getting exhausted by everything! But hey it's not forever! Just wish DS would sleep better!!!

Caroline1852 · 04/06/2007 22:34

Justaboutmanaging - so pleased you now have peace of mind, your consultant sounds brilliant (I would be inclined to write him a thank you letter). Hope you can start to relax and pamper yourself a bit now.

Catz - sounds a better balance.

Thats great news JAM. You must feel so much better for being treated properly, you can try and relax now.

my hayfever has been horrendous today,my head feels like it going to explode and i must have sneezed a million times which keeps pulling my stomach. Also nearly had asthma attack last night, seems that when my hayfever gets really bad my asthma goes bad too

Along with quite a few of us on here i'm too quite emotional! And the baby's movements are actually quite painful Baby frequently does this movement where it pulls right over to the left side of my tummmy and i get this almighty pulling on my right side really low like where my leg ends and my tummy starts, sounds weird i know but it really hurts. Does anyone else get this?

JennsterSlugSlayer · 04/06/2007 22:52

Saline nasal spray/drops clean out your sinuses husky girl, and a blob of vaseline around the inside of your nostrils can prevent some pollen from getting down your tubes. I use it in the corner of my eyes too when they are streaming, to stop the red chapped look.

Not amazing solutions to hayfever, but they do help a bit.

huskygirl · 04/06/2007 22:58

thanks for that jennster i'll give it ago. I'm never sure what i can and cant use. Usually take piriteze for about 3 weeks before its expected to get bad to build up some form of defence!!

HI mum2boys3 and welcome.

jam- glad your mind has been put at rest

pulapula- 3weeks to go how exciting.. you could be the first july birth annoucment.. all be it in June!!

Just had mw appointment (thankfully was the nice mw not the horrible.b**ch I seen last time), everything is fine, she says baby is nice size and quite long. Bum is now in my ribs.. nice and comfortable.. not...lol
Also said my lower back pain is siatica.. (crap at spelling). they took some more bloods.. (they do them at 12 28 and 34 weeks here). Have another scan booked for the 18th June, then back at the mw for the 28th june..

Hope all is well with every one.
x

MelissaM · 05/06/2007 10:25

JAM - glad everything seems ok and that your own hospital has thoroughly checked you out.

husky girl - know exactly what you mean. I think the lo's are having a stretch with bum on left and feet on the right. Can make your eyes water

Jennster - thanks for the vaseline tip.

Kyte - thanks for the advice on the babybjorn. (and bf positions). I will give it a go to start off with (cos it was free), but do quite like the idea of a sling too. DH likes the carrier as it's navy blue and definitely not girly looking. Let's hope he actually uses it!

Welcome mum2boys3.

Twoplusone, glad to hear your mw app went well.

ok - best go and get myself ready to see the consultant (hope dh can remember what we're meant to be asking). Will let you know how we get on.

Caroline1852 · 05/06/2007 10:25

mum2boys3 - welcome
