Sorry for your ongoing worries JAM - It sounds like they have an explanation for another leakage, but good for you for involving your own consultant to see what he says.

Weddingcake - my belly button popped out with my last pregnancy and went back in again quite happily after my DS was out. This time its been popped out for weeks now!

Kyte - what hammock have you got for the baby? I've got an amby nature's nest one. I didn't have it with DS so its a new thing to me with this LO. Great news you've got lots of slings... Can anyone recommend a good one that supports the baby when breastfeeding in the right position. As my DS1 will be around I want to be as mobile as possible while feeding DS2. Any recommendations?

Great everyone is having good weather. Its been pretty nice up here in Edinburgh, but too many clouds for it to get really hot.

Jamantha · 02/06/2007 20:30

I know what you mean about the tummy tightening Caroline.

Hope things are OK for you JAM - and thanks for your explanation of "hindwaters". I'd heard the phrase but wasn't sure what it meant.

Went shopping this afternoon, and then to cinema. Was way too hot to be in the shops - had to have a sit down in the shoe section of M&S as I was feeling a bit woozy. Hands even more swollen in the heat, ahd to take wedding ring off. DH says it's OK, it's not like like they're queing up to run off with me at nearly 8 months pregnant!

Had unexpected scan yesterday. MW recommended a growth scan as I may have blood sugar problems, and then the next day the hospital rang up with a cancellation appointment if I could get in that afternoon. LO is within normal range, but abdo circumference is top end of normal - same as at 20 weeks. But head is reassuringly normal. The scan report they gave me refers to "liquor pool depth" - any ideas? Refering to amount of amniotic fluid??

DivaSkyChick · 02/06/2007 21:12

Hello ladies,

Sounds like everyone is enjoying the weather!

I too have an "innie" about one mm from popping. It's so weird! Never new I had a mole in there, either. DH saw it first and told me I had a little snail in there, completely freaked me out.

So last night at a friends for dinner, I fainted. It was after a full meal, three glasses of water, great conversation. I said, "Hey guys? I think I'm gonna faint." Then I did. fun fun! Anyone else do that? It's my second time, first was on the tube. THAT was exciting, let me tell you.

No point in calling the GP, they told me after the last time that I have low bp.

Beartime · 02/06/2007 21:35

Hi everyone! thought I'd better pop in and say Hi! I gave up posting a while back because I couldn't keep up doing it every day and if I didn't do it everyday there was way too much to read. But now we're at the 'exciting' time I may get back into it again

We moved house to Wales - and are now trying to do what improvements we can b4 I hit 37wks! baby is head down and anterior which is great as for ages she was transverse.

Will try and keep more up to date now we're nearing the end

Kyte I read back a bit - I went to Spring Harvest last year and took a sling - worked really well. I didn't use the childcare either - just snuck in at the back - most of those stewards can't tell how old your baby is anyway - but I guess yours will be the right age!

lynnec · 02/06/2007 22:23

Im so of all who have the lovely weather, up here in Scotland theres nothing but clouds to be seen, so hopefully the sun is on its way.
Not long now for us all im having more and more sleepless nights with sore back, sides and hips. Hope everyones enjoying the sun and the weekend.

Beyonceen · 03/06/2007 11:43

Was just about to maon about sad lack of sun up here and you beat me to it Lynne.
Mousemole- hysterical, also measured myself the other night and got 43cm!!! So funny. Why do we do it to ourselves? Scan on Tues to check weight and size etc. Would like to be further on that I thought obviously but am also worried about missing our week away up north. Am i crazy going on holiday at 37 weeks?
Belly button is gross and popped out at 20 weeks this time (3rd babe). It's yuk but went back in both times so here's hoping.

Please send some sun southern belles!x

JennsterSlugSlayer · 03/06/2007 11:46

No sun here today in NW but was lovely yest. Last night was a scorcher. I tossed and turned, just couldn't get comfortable.

madmumNika · 03/06/2007 14:33

No sun up here either (yest or today!)- lots of rain instead (Northern Ireland...what can we expect really!!) but on the plus side it's a bit cooler so keeping swelling at bay, and we're all sleeping well.

Jamantha- 'liquor pool depth' does indeed refer to depth of amniotic fluid in various pools that form around your baby. They usually make an 'average' observation and insert the depth in cms. If it seems too low they would have flagged it and asked you back for a scan in a week or 2 so hopefully yours is all normal!

JAM- sorry to hear you are having more worries....But glad you were checked out properly and hopefully things will settle for a while & not too much leaking (((( ))))

Divaskychick- hope the fainting didn't scare you too much! Take it easy while you can & no sudden getting up or down as with low BP that is always what seems to make you faint...

Beartime- welcome back! I can feel the excitement in the thread now...it's great, although I'm only 33wks today so a bit behind some of you!

Chooster- I have bought a second-hand hug-a-bub sling for LO which can be tied in all sorts of configurations to allow breast-feeding etc. but is quite supportive so should leave both arms free to deal with toddlers! With DS I only used a Tomy front-carrier style sling when walking about the house or going for walks but now I'm hoping to be able to multi-task & b'feed while moving about!!

Cyee · 03/06/2007 18:23

Hi All - Quick clothing question - what does the LO usually wear on the way home? Is a babygro ok? With a blanket? Or is there a special outdoors outfit I need to get? Thanks ladies

Pretty rubbish weather in the west of scotland! hasnt stopped raining all of today.

My belly button 'popped' at around 24 weeks and really started protruding this week (32) - I seem to be carrying very much 'out front' Im quite squeamish about it and cant wear anything that clings to it as it makes me squirm.

Kyte - any advice on a sling that would suit my 6 ft 4 hubbie (who has a bad back) he is adamant that he wants a sling rather than another form of carrier although obviously breast feeding is not an issue with him! We are a bit overwhelmed by all the various types

hi all,

Justaboutmanaging - just seen that you say your consultant is at Nottingham, we live in Castle Donington . You at the QMC then? How are they there? I'm at Derby City General. Its awful for you to feel like you were fobbed off at the other hospital I hope that you get the correct treatment etc as soon as your consultant is aware.

Well we've been going from shop to shop today and i really struggled. I dont know if it was the heat or my largeness or what but i was so glad to be back home!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend, glad your holiday was better than you expected twoplusone

abgirl · 03/06/2007 20:31

Cyee, babygro, vest and blanket probably fine in warm/hot weather. Any colder would also add hat and cardigan - think the outside world is enough of a shock without baby being cold too!!

Hello everybody. Hope everything goes ok for you JAM.

Was wondering about slings myself, and so started a thread about it earlier.

huskygirl · 03/06/2007 21:00

thats good then jam, i've only heard good things about it. DCG is good hospital wise but the whole hosp is being improved and rebuilt so the car parking is a nightmare, whole place like a building site but once you actually reach the maternity unit its ok.

berrysmum · 03/06/2007 21:10

Huskygirl,I have been really achy today too after a relatively easy day out but on my feet quite a bit. Sometimes feels like the baby is going to drop out at any minute, I get such a heavy feeling in my pelvis! Am sure I didn't feel like this when having dd. I have put on a bit more weight this time round (Only a few pounds tho') and I am mid thirties now, maybe that's it......? It is really not nice! (and I am getting absolutely no much needed house work done because of it!!!)

Myfairone · 03/06/2007 21:56

Evening all,

Sorry to read that some of you are having a few problems and JAM I think your persistence will pay off! Fingers crossed.

I have to tell you about the ante natal class! On the way there DH announced that if he had to introduce himself he wanted to be a non English speaker! At this point I was so past caring so just ignored him!
I didn't enjoy the class one bit! There were approx 30 people in a room big enough for 10 with 2 windows that opened maybe 3inches max! The room was stuffy and hot, we were all trying to fan ourselves and the midwife spoke so softly and with such a monotone voice I just wanted to leave! (DH of course was quiet as a mouse as I am sure he knew I was about to explode!)

They showed us a video describing the 'stages of labour'. This was an American made video which annoying showed loving couples 'swaying' to music while she was in labour and whispering how much they loved each other as yet another contraction hit! I'm sorry but as much as I would like to hope thats how my labour is going to be I just cant see it!

I got out of that place as quick as I could (even telling DH that he could hold his pee till we got home!), I was hot, hungry and irritable....I'm not going back! And to think that I was annoyed with DH!

Sleep well everyone!

Jamantha · 03/06/2007 22:29

Your ante natal class sounds like a disater myfairone - got our first one on Tuesday, hope it goes a bit better than that.

Right off to have a bath now, see if I can put the plug in by myself still. Last time I told DH that if I got much bigger I was going to have to ask him to do it for me as it was getting tricky to bend over to put it in!

agnesnitt · 03/06/2007 22:51

'lo everyone.

Not been about for a few days, nightmare week!

Hope everyone is feeling well and chirpy.

I had some very strange pain earlier this evening, felt like indigestion but across my abdomen instead of in my stomach. Very odd, but not braxton hick-esque.

Ah well. New week tomorrow.

Onwards ladies?

Agnes

Cakehead · 04/06/2007 09:15

Morning everyone, hope you all had a nice weekends. The sun's still shining on us in the south, which is lovely. We put the cot up yesterday and showed it to DD, aged 18 months, who naturally wanted to just climb in herself. I hope she's starting to understand what's happening...
I'm still waiting to see my consultant on Thursday - quite sure the baby is still breech and am now 37 weeks. Gulp.
