I thought I’d start this thread now as I can’t see one yet! I got my bfp this weekend on a digital and estimate my due date to be 1st of July, but I have long cycles so I’m anticipating it changing at a dating scan. Anyone else with me for end of June or beginning of July 2018?

I would still go on your trip @snufkin84. Agree with @heregoes that there'll prob be a few others not drinking too. These things defi change a bit once your 30's hit I think. As far as flying 29 weeks is fine. I think you're good up to 36 weeks without a note. I flew at 30 weeks to USA. It was uncomfortable but fine. A short flight should be ok though!
Sorry to everyone feeling sick. I've been pretty lucky with the nausea so far but it hit about 9 weeks last time so could still be on the way! 😳 Hope it settles down for you soon!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 25/11/2017 15:29

I went out for a meal at Bella Italia last night and i ordered pork and beef meetballs for my starter and after eating about 5 they were uncooked in the middle.
So i sent them back and the waiter came over and apologised and said the were not cooked properly, Then bought me out a fresh portion of fully cooked ones.
Would you have been abit mad? I'm only concerned as I'm pg, Shouldn't a restaurant be a bit less careless!

PenneyForThem · 25/11/2017 16:41

Afternoon ladies,
Hope all those with nausea aren't feeling too bad today. TMI ahead - Yesterday when I was at work I went for a wee and had brown spotting! This really scared me as this is my first pregnancy and I had no idea what to do! I snuck out the back to call the doctors who made an appointment for me for 15 mins later and had to leave work abruptly saying I had an emergency app. The hr lady was dealing with something else but told me I'd have to tell her why I was leaving early on Monday. (have no idea what I'm going to say?) Anyway after being made to wait 20mins after my app. time I went into see a lady (not sure if she was a gp) I explained what had happened and that I thought I was 6 weeks pregnant yesterday. She said ok wait a min. Left the room. Came back and told me it would be too early to tell anything and 'what will be will be' and then said to go home and rest. Call next week if I hadn't stopped spotting. She was so unhelpful didn't ask me any questions and didnt seem to care because it was 5:30pm on a Friday. I read back the comments on this thread a while ago and couldnt remember if any of you had had any brown spotting at around 6 weeks. Or have any advice on what I should do? I'm just feeling a bit rubbish and wanted to talk.. and I keep checking my boobs to make sure they're still sore ..

PenneyForThem · 25/11/2017 16:43

Oh and I would be so angry if a restaurant gave me undercooked food- especially whilst pregnant. I've been pretty snappy recently though to be fair x

BlueeSpottyTiger · 25/11/2017 18:24

penny That's terrible!! How insensitive.
With my dds pregnancy and my most recent pregnancy i had spotting around 6 weeks and was sent for a scan by my gp.
You will definatley be able to see baby on a scan now.. and they can try and determine where it's coming from although with mine they couldn't tell. My abdominal scan was done at 6+3 in my most recent pg even though they typically do internal at this stage. On one visit to the epu they checked my cervix and took swabs ect.
My epu isn't self referral, Is yours? If so can you call them for a scan?
Brown blood isn't usually a concern though its normally old blood. I hope your okay!! Xx

Boboelephant · 25/11/2017 18:38

@BlueeSpottyTiger- Yes I would have been angry. Having your food cooked is a pretty basic requirement! I hope you got your meal for free!
@PenneyForThem- that sounds so awful! Sorry you had to go through that! Perhaps call your GP again and say you want to be sent to the EPU for a scan? Or call directly if they take referrals? Mine I know you have to go through GP.
I haven't had spotting thankfully but I agree that from what I've heard brown blood is usually old so not a concern. If it's bright red I think that's more if a worry.
I had to get a 5 week scan as I've had a previous ectopic and the doctor told me that as she could see I had bruising from where the bub implanted that it might bleed in the next week. Perhaps that's what has happened for you? Hope it gets sorted- the first trimester worries are so hard!

Lilychouchou · 25/11/2017 18:39

penny so sorry you're having that worry, I had brown/red spotting at 8 weeks and was scared out of my mind. I had a scan and everything was fine, they thought I might have a slight cervical erosion - it carried on for a couple of days then stopped.

The EPU really didn't seem concerned by it but I know it's a worry. Are there are any self referral EPUs near you? If you're in London there's one at St Thomas and another at St George's. At the very least you could call for some advice. Xxx

Lilychouchou · 25/11/2017 18:39

bluee I wouldn't have been really annoyed, hope you got your dinner free!

Lilychouchou · 25/11/2017 19:32

*would have! Blush

BlueeSpottyTiger · 25/11/2017 21:45

Haha lily 😂😂

PenneyForThem · 26/11/2017 00:48

Blue Bob and Lily Thank you so much for all of your replies. I've looked online and it says that the EPU is professional referrals only. Thank you for all your support too- I didn't really know how to feel about the whole thing and it was a bit of a shock. I've just been out for dinner trying to relax with my SIL & BIL and not think about it but it is hard and it is still showing up on a pad, but I keep telling myself it's not really very much blood just think it looks worse after a wee! I'm not in London i'm in Norfolk, but I might try and call 101 for advice as feel like I need to stop googling things. The spotting is slightly dark red now and not just brown so I would quite like to talk to someone who actually wants to help unlike the lady at the doctors. I'm feeling much better now I've read your comments though Smile we'll see how I get on tomorrow and I'll keep you updated! Night x

Lilychouchou · 26/11/2017 09:47

Remember that even the tiniest drop of blood can look like a lot when it's diluted by discharge or urine. Spotting in pregnancy is really common but I know just how worrying it is.

Why don't you call the EPAU, ask to speak to a nurse and tell them what's happened? They might be able to give you some advice/reassurance and help you get referred. Your GP really should refer you with any bleeding (when I went to EPAU most of the women were there for bleeding which shows how common it is!) so I would go back to them on Monday and insist. There's lots of info on the Norfolk and Norwich EPAU here www.nnuh.nhs.uk/publication/download/early-pregnancy-assessment-unit-epau-m213/

PenneyForThem · 26/11/2017 11:06

Thank you Lily I called 111 just to get some advice and they have just called me back and made me an app. at 2:45pm today with a GP at a walk in clinic. Last time I went there in the summer the GP was so helpful and thorough so FX it will be the same today. I'll do some reading up on the link you've sent too. Thanks again for all your help x

Lilychouchou · 26/11/2017 12:57

That's great penny hopefully you'll get some reassurance and support today :) let us know how you get on and don't worry (I know that's easier said than done!)

18mnthsandcounting · 26/11/2017 15:20

Hi ladies hope you’re are all keeping well! After your advice!
(Bit of history on me - been trying to conceive for nearly 3 years, have pcos, I’ve had a miscarriage in 2015 and a missed miscarriage in June 2017.)
Anyway my question is I am 8 weeks pregnant and have booked a private scan for next Saturday I’ll be 9+3. I’ve also received a letter from antenatal clinic for my first nhs scan when I’ll be 10+6. My partner thinks we should cancel private scan and just wait for nhs scan. I’m undecided I want to know everything is ok but then there’s a chance I could go next week and everything be fine and then go to my 10 week scan and baby have died.

Question to you ladies do I wait for nhs scan or go to private? What would you do considering my history?

Thanks ladies in advance x

Lilychouchou · 26/11/2017 16:31

18mnths I think peace of mind is priceless so if you're very stressed then I would go for the private scan, then you'll hopefully have a few days of feeling relaxed before the next scan. At the end of the day it's only money and your mental health is more important Flowers

PenneyForThem · 26/11/2017 17:03

18mnths I agree with Lily if it puts your mind at ease then I would go for it and just follow your instincts.

Lily just to keep you updated I went to to emergency clinic and they did a pregnancy test and he said it was very faint (although as he was talking to me I could see it getting stronger) and said I was having a threatened miscarriage which will most definitely end with a miscarriage from what I had told him about the weekend. He said to test in 48 hours and see what happens, but then I came home and there was quite a lot of bright red blood so I think that's it. This time round was not meant to be. I will POAS on Tuesday and see what happens as it's just a waiting game now I guess. x

18mnthsandcounting · 26/11/2017 17:13

@penney sorry to hear that 😢

Thanks for your advice ladies x

karategirl · 26/11/2017 17:38

@Penney so sorry to hear about that. Flowers

I'm still having cramps. Does anyone find that it worsens when they sneeze or cough? I've sneezed a few times this weekend and the pain's been so bad I've had to stop mid-walk.

Boboelephant · 26/11/2017 18:08

Oh @Penney I'm so so sorry!! I haven't been online all day and was just checking to see how you got on. If this one isn't meant to be I hope you fall pregnant again quickly.

@18mnths I also agree that peace of mind is the most important so I would keep the private scan. (Speaking as someone who has one next weekend too!) Hope you see a strong heartbeat in there!

@karategirl- Sorry to hear of your painfil cramps! I can't relate but hope they get better soon!

LittleBirdBlues · 26/11/2017 18:40

@penney I hope you have lots of warmth and support around you. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

@karategirl I have cramps like that I think and they are definitely worst when sneezing! Sometimes also when I get up after having been in the same position for a while. I'm pretty sure I remember similar cramps from my previous pregnancies so don't this it's anything to worry about.

PenneyForThem · 26/11/2017 19:15

Thank you ladies Flowers We told my SIL & BIL last night but we also told them that I was spotting so it might be bad news but it's been so lovely to have their support around us and they came to see us today to make sure we were ok. My DH is a trooper and has been amazingly supportive throughout the whole weekend but also so nice to talk to my SIL too. We did just have a phone call to say that his Grandad has just been taken to hospital and is very poorly indeed so just seems like a pretty miserable day all in all. Fx we will fall quickly again and it's meant to be. I just showed my DH all of your lovely comments and they really have helped me over the weekend so thank you everyone. x Smile

LittleBirdBlues · 26/11/2017 19:30

TMI alert:

I have just spent an hour on the toilet. Horrendous and quite painful constipation Blush. Anybody else? Could it be my vitamin supplement? I'm using boots PWN brand which contains 14mg iron per capsule. Is that more than other brands?

I know constipation is normal to some extent but this was unbearable.

My diet is good as no nausea yet. So lots of whole grains, vegetables, fibre...

Have ordered prune juice with my online shopping. Wink

Lilychouchou · 26/11/2017 21:25

SO sorry to hear that penny, be kind to yourself and stay in touch xxx Flowers

LittleBird, I have terrible constipation and have had more brown bleeding tonight which I think might be linked to straining! I spoke to the pharmacist and have bought some lactulose so fingers crossed it helps!

LittleBirdBlues · 26/11/2017 23:07

Fx that it helps lilly I might go down the same route if today's story repeats itself!
