I thought I’d start this thread now as I can’t see one yet! I got my bfp this weekend on a digital and estimate my due date to be 1st of July, but I have long cycles so I’m anticipating it changing at a dating scan. Anyone else with me for end of June or beginning of July 2018?

@lgh05 I'm 6+3 today and due on the 8th July x

18mnthsandcounting · 15/11/2017 07:29

@heregoeseverything I have the exact same symptoms as you! How strange! I’m 7 weeks today x

lgh05 · 15/11/2017 07:42

@Hulaballoo you dates tie in like mine then. I get confused how people can be similar weeks but due date be a week more/less.

Winterfellismyhome · 15/11/2017 10:12

7 weeks today and just threw up my breakfast 🤢

Heregoeseverything · 15/11/2017 10:19

@lgh05 My cycles are usually longer than 28 days which is why I gave two measurements - I'm 6+3 on LMP measure but putting my usual cycle length into an ovulation predictor online gives me 6 weeks exactly and an estimated due date of 11/12 July. My cycles aren't always exactly the same length so it's possible but unlikely that it was a 28 day cycle and I'm 6+3 (and due earlier than 11/12).

May I ask if anyone knows when I should get my first appointment with a midwife? I'm fairly clueless, I told the GP surgery I was pregnant and got a text saying, "YOU HAVE BEEN REFERRED, let us know if you haven't heard anything in 4 weeks" which I assume is a referral to midwifery but nobody's telling me anything...!

Heregoeseverything · 15/11/2017 10:20

Sorry @winter! Is this your first episode of vomiting? Flowers

Winterfellismyhome · 15/11/2017 10:25

@Heregoeseverything yeah. Felt rough yesterday but only threw up today. Dont wanna move from the toilet lol

Boboelephant · 15/11/2017 10:36

I think the different due dates are down to cycle lengths. Going by your LMP, it calculates you have a 28 day cycle. Lots of people have 35 or even 42 day cycles so due date should be later as they would have ovulated later.
I kept telling the midwives with my son that I had long cycles so I thought I was due later. They wouldn't change my due date and I ended up being 16 days late so definitely something in it!!
I have been struck down with a cold/flu and am off work. Killer sore throat, achy legs and massive exhaustion. Any pregnancy symptoms I was having seem to have disappeared or just paled in comparison! 🤒🤒

Heregoeseverything · 15/11/2017 10:48

That's interesting @Bobo, I assumed the doctors/midwives would adjust my due date on the basis of my cycle length, seems silly to just pretend it was a 28 day cycle! Am contemplating a Caesarean anyway which would bring "due" date forward.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well - I gather our immune systems are lower and more susceptible to cold and flu? Now you have double the excuse to relax...

Heregoeseverything · 15/11/2017 10:49

I've woken up feeling a little nauseous this morning but I think it might be because I can still taste the 500 kilos of cheese and onion crisps I ate last night...!

Boboelephant · 15/11/2017 11:07

@Heregoeseverything I thought it crazy too! I have had friends who have had their dates changed but that's usually been dependent on baby's size rather than cycle length. They kept telling me he was the right size for the earlier DD but my hubby is so tall so he was always going to be a big baby.
I had early scans this time due to previous ectopic and they've pushed my dates back as they couldnt see anything at first scan which shows I was behind the dates they originally gave.
Yes it is tough being pregnant and sick. Twice as susceptible and can't take anything for it!
Haha 500kg of crisps... 😂😂

Charlotte1106 · 15/11/2017 12:20

My first midwife appointment is at 10 weeks.

Bluebirdsky · 15/11/2017 13:14

If at your 12 week dating scan the measurements of the baby show that your dates are significantly different to those from your period then your due date will be changed to match that so it doesn't matter too much.

Catnoise · 15/11/2017 15:00

Hi there,

So I just thought I'd introduce myself. I just got a positive pregnancy test. This will be my second baby, my son is 14 months old today. It hasn't quite sunk in yet but I did only find out about an hour and a half ago (I tested in my work toilets!)

I will have a read back through the thread on my way home tonight but congratulations to everyone. I have found the board for October 2016 (although my son came early in the September) hugely helpful and supportive and we still talk on a daily basis via a Facebook group so looking forward to meeting others due at the same time.

Hulaballoo · 15/11/2017 15:17

Got my 12 week scan appointment...2nd January! That's aaages away... Next year...Booo 😩I want a private one and don't at the same time...Mmc picked up early scan last time privately... So I'm worried it'll happen again. But January!! Argh, I'll be 13+1 weeks 🙁 wish it were sooner.

Heregoeseverything · 15/11/2017 15:41

Hi catnoise!

@hulaballoo That's really annoying. Having redone my due dates etc using Mumsnet resources my due date is 10 July and I am likely 6+1 which I think is 1 day off where you are? I'm now seeing the advantage of the drs calculating on the LMP basis as that would make me 6+4 and could hopefully sneak a scan in before Christmas! If I were you I would need a scan before Christmas one way or the other as I want to tell people at Christmas but want a scan first...

I'm definitely going to get an early scan and Harmony test in any event I think... need the reassurance!

Hulaballoo · 15/11/2017 16:35

Yeah I think I'm going to have to book an early private scan but just petrified history will repeat 😩 up to how many weeks can you get a harmony test?

Catnoise · 15/11/2017 16:40

It seems like I'm a fair way behind the rest of you as my estimated due date is 24/07. I've just filled in the online referral form to my hospital. How long did it take you guys to get your first midwife appointment.

I seem to remember it was about eight weeks with my first son? Is that about right? I'm surprised I can't remember any of this!

DoubleEspresso22 · 15/11/2017 16:57

@catnoise Congrats and welcome! I self-referred to the hospital too (on 26th October) - got a letter through about a week later with my 12 week scan appointment date. The midwife only contacted me yesterday to arrange my booking in appointment (I will be 8 weeks when I have this). I was expecting to hear from the midwife before I got my scan appointment but every area is different.

Heregoeseverything · 15/11/2017 16:58

@hulaballoo

I don't know but I'm planning on getting it early as the Fetal Medicine Centre has a special deal for 10 weekers (it gets more expensive from 11 weeks on)... Hope the results come back before Christmas!

Wingingitdaily · 15/11/2017 17:10

Hi I’ve been lurking since I got my bfp a few weeks ago I’m now 7+1 due 3rd july. This will be my second I have a 19 month old dd.
I’m holding out for my 12 week scan which is booked for 19th December. So really jealous of you all getting to see your little ones and their heart beats so soon

Catnoise · 15/11/2017 17:26

Oh wow, so many later due dates in the group.

Thanks @doubleespresso. Hopefully I'll here soon. I'll actually be moving mid-pregnancy (I did last time too) so my care will start in one place and finish in another.

I still haven't quite got my head round being pregnant again. It was half planned in a 'it'll be nice to start trying. Oh we had sex in my fertile window' type way but need it all to sink in.

I am dreading telling work! I only came back in August! It feels a bit cheeky.

Catnoise · 15/11/2017 17:27

I'm very jealous of your 12 week scan dAtes! I remember the nerves last time leading up to it but I also a scan at 8 weeks, I can't for the life of me remember why. I think it was a dating scan as my previous month's period had been lighter than usual.

Boboelephant · 15/11/2017 17:40

Congratulations to all the new bfps!
My hospital just does the first midwife and scan all at 12 weeks so it's just one long appt. It's a long time to hear anything though!
After reading that you were all getting your appointments I called to check they received my referral and if I could get scanned before Christmas. She says they usually just contact you closer to 12 weeks so looks like I've still got a while to wait. Definitely booking in for a private 9 week scan!!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 15/11/2017 17:56

I get my 12 scan date when i go to my booking in appointment which is on either the 6th or the 13th of Dec (waiting for it to be confirmed). In 2 of my pregnancies I've had bleeding a few times between weeks 6-10 so and have had to have early scans so I'm expecting that will probably happen this time aswell.. Gulp! And i have my private scan at 10+2 booked aswell.
