pinkranger · 24/04/2007 20:18

my little one also goes quiet when Dh and ds are near!! How strange!!!

itchyncsratchy · 24/04/2007 20:25

Hi everyone,
powercuts are disrupting my internet service here.
I managed to find a ball in the sports shop here and it's all pumped up ready to go.
Thanks for the yoga link Annie75. I've been trying some pelvic tilts and massaging.
The pain I'm getting is like sharp and throbbing pain in the left upper butt cheek! I'm trying not to let it get to me but... grimace.
Sleeping with pillows is working for me but god yeah I'd love to sleep on my belly tonight!
Going for a check up in private clinic tomorrow and a scan too, very excited to see how my girl's doing.

GrowingBagPuss

Don't know about this being the miserable middle stage, I'm dreading the 3rd trimester. Last time my MS came back with a vengence and the tiredness hit me like a sledgehammer. Am starting my mat leave 6 weeks before my due date for this reason!

On the sleep front, who would have thought that someone so little and not even born yet could keep you awake so much at night? Last night I was kicked whatever position I was in. Ended up walking around the bedroom at 5am trying to get it to go to sleep, bless.

itchyncsratchy · 24/04/2007 20:38

oh dear mum2george, i wouldn't wish MS on anyone, in the 3rd trimester too? Jesus christ I didn't know that could happen, please don't let it happen to any of us, I couldn't cope!
Apart from the 'pain in the ass' I'm kind of enjoying this 23 weeks stage, especially as I have a friend at 32 weeks who's enormous and fed up with being pg

growingbagpuss · 24/04/2007 21:15

mum2george - you poor thing! I only get sicky 1st thing - can't face anything soggy (from nappies to cornfalkes!!) -but I did get awful heartburn with ds1 - up for 3-4 hours a night - so far not so bad this time - ?maybe coz its a girl?

I wish we could take away your MS - just when u need your strength most. x

conkertree · 25/04/2007 08:50

I felt sick when i got up this morning - and a wee bit yesterday too - really hope its not going to be a regular thing.

Landmark yesterday of gettting under the 100 days to go line - 98 today to be precise. So that was quite a nice thought.

pinkranger · 25/04/2007 08:54

whats your due day conkertree, i think im a few weeks after you - not long now,!!!! Nearly at the 3rd!!!!!

loler · 25/04/2007 09:33

Hi, I'm 'working' at home today as got a really important report to write. Really can't get started though - keep finding really important stuff to do to put it off...looking on here, doing washing, sorting out recycling, well at least I'll have a tidy house by the end of the day!

I'm having no problem at all sleeping infact almost the opposite, keep falling asleep all the time. I'm still waiting for the tiredness to wear off and hit the feeling blooming stage! Don't think it's going to happen .

The NCT sale near me was cancelled - was hoping to pick up a few things as have given all my tiny baby stuff away as I was never going to do this again! Keep looking at ebay but their prices seem quite high and you can't see what you're getting.

BabyMadwithBump · 25/04/2007 09:39

I've got 100 days to go today! (25+5) now it really is counting down the days LOL!

I'm in a really happy mood today but I think thats down to the chat DS's and I had on the way to school, the things children talk about and say really do make me smile and the fact I've changed doctors has been a really great weight off my mind. I had a really crap nights sleep, and also got lots to do, but still feel great. I have a few bits for this HB but want to make a list and start getting the rest as well as getting bits for a hospital bag just incase.

bananabump · 25/04/2007 10:26

101 for me! Hah, bet I'll be looking back on this thread with ironic laughter when I'm two weeks overdue and the size of a house.

pinkranger · 25/04/2007 11:03

119 for me!!!

funbun · 25/04/2007 11:06

Off to midwife this afternoon, which means the afternoon off work, can't complain. Am feeling pretty good at the moment, my back pain has reduced which may be becuase the action is a bit higher at the moment, around the diaphragm. Back pain will prob return when LO moves down to pelvic area.

Sleeping is no prob for me, off like a baby. DP has bought earplugs because the snoring can be a bit bad apparently - doesn't wake me up! Can only sleep on my side now and find moving from one side to other can be a bit off a faff, have to move knee pillow and wiggle a lot.

Anyone else eating ice-cream, ice lollies or ice cubes?

MrsBadger · 25/04/2007 11:09

119 for me too, pinkranger
(seems miles away - lucky really, considering the baby's room only has two walls at the moment...)

pinkranger · 25/04/2007 11:12

i know what you mena mrs badger, the babes room is still my dressing room at the moment , must pull our finger out!

Funbun _ oh my god ice lollies and ice polls - Love them all, them rocket lollies are bloody lovley!!!!!!

GillL · 25/04/2007 11:16

I know what you mean Growingbagpuss and loler. I keep waiting for the 'blooming stage' but it's never appeared and I don't think it ever will. I'm getting more and more tired as each day goes by. I normally get 8 hours sleep broken up by a trip to the loo usually around 4am but I still end up feeling like I've been up all night.

itchy - I had the same problem with links until I realised that you have to add the \description for it to work.

The baby has been very active in the last couple of days and the kicks are getting quite strong - enough to distract me from whatever I'm doing.

116 days to go for me.

loler · 25/04/2007 11:32

I NEED TO DO SOME WORK!!!!

Still looking at t'internet - so far have been researching breastfeeding - hurt lots when I tried before and am trying to decided to go for it or stop myself from getting all wound up again and go straight for the bottle! Also been looking at wormeries - thought it might be a nice idea!

Now off to look at buggies (always a good way to kill a few hours!). Have to take ds for his 2 year check with HV in a bit, now that reallt is a waste of time!

babymad, am also smiling from things kids say. DD was talking about where things come from, milk comes form cows, beer comes from elephants! - she saw a bottle with an elephant on in the shop and just assumed. Think might get dh a pet elephant for his birthday!

Hersetta · 25/04/2007 12:39

Hello all,

am very tired today as I went on a corporate shingdig last night - line dancing ! It was good fun but I was knackered by the end of the night and bump was really aching so slunk off a little early. Finally crawlled into bed and then the baby started doing the biggest kicks ever - my DH even felt then for the first time. She's been very active today already as well.

routine MW appointment for me tomorrow as well.

Still really confused by prams and buggies. Everytime I think i have made a decision, I hesitate again and add another to the list of possibles. Haven't even dediced either about having a cot or a cotbed? What does everyone think?

MrsBadger · 25/04/2007 12:46

linedancing sounds fun...

We were given a secondhand cot which kind of made the decision for us .
Pramwise it looks like a Silver Cross Sleepover or similar (MIL is buying) so we can use the carrycot instead of a moses basket, and then after 6mo a Triumph as well to sling in the car / take on holiday etc, but I can see that wouldn't suit everyone...

treacletart · 25/04/2007 12:53

Wooohoo!! I got a great looking 2nd hand firstwheels city elite with carrycot, footmuff, raincover etc for £100 on ebay last night! Just keep worrying there must be something wrong with it now!

katybird · 25/04/2007 12:58

Afternoon all, took me ages to catch up again.

I'm probably worrying about nothing but I've not got my next MW appointment booked, when is it normal to have the next one? I'm 23 weeks.

I think we're going to get a cotbed, and a moses basket for the first few months. We don't have a car so I don't want to buy a travel system just for the carrycot bit. Then we're going to try with just a Baby Bjorn for six months, then get a stroller. But I'm sure whatever we get LO will decide he wants something else!

BabyMadwithBump · 25/04/2007 13:02

I had MW app's-
8+ weeks, 15 weeks, 22 wweks, and my next one is at 28 weeks!

BabyMadwithBump · 25/04/2007 13:04

I'm buying a cotbed again as they really are a good buy, my DS's were ready for a bed at 12/18 month but felt they were to small for a bed, so with having the cotbed, the bed bit was great as it was so small which was ideal.

bananabump · 25/04/2007 13:06

I've not got an appointment now til 30 weeks, and then I daresay they'll start getting a bit closer together. I've been wondering if they'll ask me to go in for a glucose tolerance test, they're supposed to be done about 28 weeks (I think) but that isn't routine, is it?
