@Mumof3 - Sadly for me it's not even a case of measuring far behind (unless my dates are 2 weeks out which is absolutely impossible!) There is only an empty gestational sack with no yolk.. No idea why my HCG levels are still good. Guess my body wants to cling on Sad

SulkyPuddleDuck · 23/10/2017 16:23

The sack measures 10mm.

SylvesterTheCat · 23/10/2017 16:25

Timeisnotaline good article. Thank you for sharing.

Welcome spicedpeach!!

weasledee · 23/10/2017 16:41

Mumof3, I’d have to be only 6 weeks which is impossible really......
I can’t believe it’s all happening again but nothing to be done so trying not to be too fed up. I have children so I’m grateful for them :)

Mumof3cheeky · 23/10/2017 16:54

Ahh 😔 I see! I don’t know at what stage of the pregnancy should you have a 10mm sac? About 6 weeks?
I’m sorry both but let’s cross our fingers for next week scan tho xx

Lulu298 · 23/10/2017 17:11

Fingers crossed for you both weaseldee and sulkypuddleduck. Xx

Emz01 · 23/10/2017 18:03

So sorry to hear this @weasledee and @SulkyPuddleDuck really have my fingers crossed for you that there is still some hope.

jemk83 · 23/10/2017 18:24

Hi,

Can I join? I'm 5 weeks today with my first pregnancy. Very, very nervous and hoping that we make it to the 12 week mark safe and sound!

senzaparole03 · 23/10/2017 19:19

Hi jemk!

First pregnancy here, too. 5+4!

Also very, very nervous. Keep hearing/reading the worst stories and winding myself up about it!

Dhobighat · 23/10/2017 19:59

Hello, wondering if I can join you lovely ladies :)

I have had several BFPs over the weekend and it's starting to sink in a bit, although I'm not getting too excited just yet as this is an IVF pregnancy and so I'm still on a lot of hormones - won't be happy until i know it's my body doing the right thing and not the drugs!

DC2 Due 30th June if all goes well.

Impatientmummy36 · 23/10/2017 20:11

So so sorry weasledee and puddleduck. It's just so shit. It's happened to me and all i can say is the thing that got me through it was looking after myself, a lot of rest, and then getting back to ttc as soon as possible (though I know that might not be right thing for everyone.) Good luck to you, hope you're being looked after x x

KoreZ · 23/10/2017 20:14

Hello all, hope I’m ok to join in... I’m new to Mumsnet so don’t have all the abbreviations down yet..!

I’m 6+5 and terrified... so many twinges going on down there... I’ve one daughter who’s now 19 so this is a bit of a shock and it was all so long ago I can barely remember..

Dhobighat · 23/10/2017 20:20

Just been reading the thread, sorry to hear about your scans weasledee and puddleduck. Look after yourselves.

ElizabethLemon · 23/10/2017 20:49

Sorry to those that are suffering with nausea, whether it's accompanied by vomit or not! I know being sick isn't nice.

Lying in bed at the moment feeling sick and hiding from mil & bil. I feel quite grumpy and not up for pretending to be sociable right now.

RR2013 · 23/10/2017 20:51

Hi
Hope you all don't mind me joining .. im 8 weeks tomorrow and this is 2nd pregnancy!

Phryne · 24/10/2017 02:02

So sorry to hear your bad news weasldee and sulky. Flowers

I agree with the linked article - there's a lot of scaremongering about things which won't harm the baby (like salmonella) which I think masks the things that really will (like toxoplasmosis from unwashed fruit). All the risks are pretty low though which is a reminder of how safe our food really is! I liked expecting better (book) as it goes through all the recommendations (everything from food to meds you can take to epidural) and explains why and what the evidence is so you can make up your own mind. I did do online research initially but it's a minefield of horror stories.

Of course, being vegetarian cuts a lot of the decisions out Grin

Feeling sick today and have a long haul flight with a toddler. Hope they have a good stock of diet Coke and DD isn't travel sick...

bonnymnemonic · 24/10/2017 08:30

Lornaa2107 · 24/10/2017 09:39

Hi June 18s
Congratulations all round! Sorry in advance for this long post- 2nd month ttc #1 here's my confusing story-
I'm in a right pickle as to due dates cos this bfp is something of a puzzle/miracle. My DH was only home from sea from Sep 15-October 2. I ovulate on day 21-23 of 35/45 day cycles. So by my maths I must have ovulated like really really late (last week of sep) like cd37 or something! AF was due 3/10 , LMP was 20/8, ovulation meant to be 9/9. Midwife is going to say I'm 9 weeks already but I know I'm only about 6 w3days.
I'm really worried because must have ovulated a week before AF. I'm also a blabber mouth & told most of my close friends & family already :-o
Using online calculators due date anywhere btween 8/6 & 20/6 !!!

Lornaa2107 · 24/10/2017 09:42

Also just read the above above posts, sorry for your losses x

Dhobighat · 24/10/2017 09:56

Ooh yes the book "Expecting Better" that Phryne mentioned is great. I think I'm going to be more relaxed this time around, easy to say when it's preg number two, although I was pretty relaxed the first time around and ate dippy eggs and soft cheese. I think common sense should prevail - brie from Tesco is probably OK, Brie freshly made from unpasteurised milk from a goat herd in the mountains - think twice. That said, no point eating or drinking anything if it's going to make you worry for weeks.

Thanks fro the tip Bonnie I will email.

Lorna sounds like a pickle! The dating scan will put it right though, and they ignore anything you say about dates anyway! I know exactly when conception was as I had IVF but they even ignore that!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 24/10/2017 11:34

Eek ive got an early scan on thursday at 10am 😯 so scared in case its all gone wrong x

HolyShmoly · 24/10/2017 11:38

Brightside fingers crossed everthing goes well. I'm suddenly really anxious about mine on Saturday.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 24/10/2017 11:50

Thankyou Shmoly , hope everything goes well for yours too. I keep trying to tell myself that whatever will be will be, and its all out of my control so worrying wont help, but i never take my own advice lol.x

Caspiana · 24/10/2017 12:07

Welcome to our new members and congratulations!!

Best of luck with the scans, I know how nerve wracking it is. Remember that the odds are in your favour Flowers

Mummyloves09 · 24/10/2017 14:17

@ xxmissbrightsidexx and HolyShmoly I totally understand where you are coming from, as my scan is tomorrow and I am shitting myself due to spotting etc.
And yes I always say "what's meant for me, will not pass me " however with everything I have heard not only on hear but with friends etc I'm super nervous.
