Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Am I a pikey for bathing my dd in the kitchen sink? I do it all the time now, I can't be doing with all the bending over the bath!!

Foxy dp's boys fight all the time, I'm sure one day they'll do each other a serious injury (well that's what I'm hoping anyway!!). Sometimes you have to physically sit on them to stop them killing each other!

My mum is a teacher at a private school and she gets really good pressies, though not diamond necklaces!! She gets champers and Lindt chocolate, jewellery, crystal bowls and last year she got a lovely Emma Bridgewater jug. I was seriously !

annobal · 18/04/2007 18:36

Ah - it's ok - just get a nanny...

Right - one in bed, just got to convince the other that he wants to get out of the bath. Actually might not need to as I hear water draining as I type - oops, better go

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/04/2007 19:10

Just caught up on today's goss. Am at nanny thread - want Marylou's title for next thread. Please.

Note to self - must get job in different school - not that I don't appreciate 6 boxes of After Eights, 3 bottles of bubble bath and a bottle of Lambrusco, but a diamond necklace would make a nice change..

annobal · 18/04/2007 19:19

Changed my mind - it's microwave popcorn for dinner

derlor · 18/04/2007 19:32

very healthy annaobal - popcorn definately a vegetable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marylou - that is a corker! Gets my vote!

Foxy! Blimey! a premier? FFS! Loving Derlors suggestion - completely reasonable in my book....

My tea is sorted - very easy - Sainsburys Mackerel Strips in Lemon & Pepper breadcrumbs, oven chips and frozen peas! Yum! So thats 2 veg - chips = potato and peas = veg and if i have tomato sauce = veg and lemon breadcrumbs = fruit!

Holly - a Motorola KRZRK1 ? It looks pretty and came with the contract renewal

Seansgirl · 18/04/2007 19:38

Oh and Haagen Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake = 1 more fruit

Seansgirl · 18/04/2007 19:39

Why is it that my LO is quiet for a few days - so much so I worry and then cos I've had a scan etc he/she has been moving all afternoon.

annobal · 18/04/2007 19:39

Not to mention the calcium!

Seansgirl · 18/04/2007 19:40

Seansgirl · 18/04/2007 19:41

Sorry double post my connection being crap!
Oh yes annobal - calcium too - better add some more and put cream on top

riabutterflew · 18/04/2007 19:52

We have breakfast, dinner and tea. Didn't realise that made me middle class - feel I have gone up in the world! The boys can turn it on like a tap depending who they are talking to and they often have "lunch" just to show me up. My gran used to say lavvy (for toilet facilities, not as a mealtime name), it's generally "loo" in our house (although DH sometimes says "lav", but it's widely known he's more common than me).

Am reading with the gift lists, makes me think I might like a proper job one day...

Who was it said three is the worst number of children? PLEASE TELL ME IT'S NOT TRUE. I AM NOT HAVING ANY MORE AFTER THIS ONE [panic stricken smiley]!!!!!!!!!!!

Bedtime...

riabutterflew · 18/04/2007 19:54

Good idea to bath the kids in the kitchen sink - I could carry on spying on the neighbours (am watching with interest the bloke down the road who goes out in shorts...) while I do it. DS1 is perhaps too big now though, and I would have to do the drying up first!

hollyandalice · 18/04/2007 19:55

Ahhh! No more decorating today, dp has run out of filler! Hooray! I want to get my house back to normal, it's a mess! The plus side is I can't really do any housework as there is stuff all in the way everywhere!

Nice phone seansgirl, one of my friends has one and she loves it. Was your scan ok? How is lo's growth?

annobal · 18/04/2007 19:58

Well done Holly. Put your feet up and watch Property Ladder (how sad am I??) or read a mag. A lovely lady on the train gave me the latest Eve mag which she had just bought

hollyandalice · 18/04/2007 20:01

Well, there are no adult shows for me atm, dd is watching her Teletubbies video before bed! I'm being a bad mother again!

foxybrown · 18/04/2007 20:07

i just about catch up then there are more posts!

can't remember anything of what I've just read - durrr! baby brain!

but Marylou's thread title gets my vote.

foxybrown · 18/04/2007 20:10

oh, teachers pressies. I am very proud that I cracked that one - I do oxfam gifts 200 school dinners sent to poor children for about £6.

bargain!

might throw in a goat next year too!

marylou23 · 18/04/2007 20:10

Okay, have to be quick because Property Ladder is on pause (doncha love Sky+??!!). But if anyone's watching it, look at her eyes in the credit bit that flashes up before and after each interval break. I got really freaked out by it last week - she looks like she's been possessed by the property devil ('we have ways of making you build that extension ha ha ha ha ha ha' said in evil voice).

Foxy, sounds like your neighbour is an eejit.

And Holly, bathing in the sink is sensible, in my view.

Seansgirl, I'm the same - I get two days of mania then a really quiet day and get all panicky... have resorted to prodding my stomach to wake him up on ocassion

Okay, back to the tv. (You'll probably have spotted that I don't have a lap top, or computer in the sitting room. I have to actually go upstairs to my office to post whcih means leaving the sofa and the chocolate orange and I'm sorry but it's hard )

riabutterflew · 18/04/2007 20:16

DS2 watching camberwick green. Teletubbies is slightly more educational I think. Want him to be chilled when we go to bed - was nearly 11pm last night when he settled. I have even taken them for a gentle bike ride tonight. I NEED SLEEP!

My MW has been brilliant today and fitted me in for an extra appt when I aren't meant to be going til next week. She was friendly too. As it turns out I probably have a bit of a virus and slightly low blood pressure. It's nice to have a real reason for feeling so crap. So I am meant to be "resting" (just a bit - not in a serious way) 'til it passes. Typically all I want to do now is clean things!
My HV with DS2 was brilliant too, she said follow your own instincts with everything, so long as I kept her informed. Sadly she left and was replaced by a hitler-type so I haven't been since he was tiny.

riabutterflew · 18/04/2007 20:19

Excellent idea foxy. Will try that one. Much better than buying them champers I could be drinking!!!

Bugger, am now having to try explaining how Trumpton Town was filmed as the characters aren't puppets or pictures. You would have thought I look after my children so badly that they wouldn't bother bring inquisitive (sp) and would just stick to burning down bus shelters.

riabutterflew · 18/04/2007 20:20

meant being not bring.

Have now moved on to the parenting skills of the cat species... must be past their bedtime

foxybrown · 18/04/2007 20:21

marylou, think of the exercise you are getting using the stairs - have another piece, pg is no place for weight loss.

ria, hello, I laughed at your posts about dinner. my boys are the same and are currently not going to sleep.

must go and tell them off.

foxybrown · 18/04/2007 20:21

pmsl "burning down bus shelters"

Seansgirl · 18/04/2007 21:13

Marylou - I'm the same have to hot foot upstairs to post another reason for a laptop - tho Dh wouldn't agree! Not sure about Sarah's eyes, but wasn't that bloke in Northampton an arsey-knowitall-fucker? Though quite obviously didn't know it all as look at the mess after 2 years! It looked horrible too - like a bloody factory! [smug type of look]

Ria LOL burning bus shelters! But Camberwick Green, Trumpton....ahhhh! Wasn't there one called Chiggley or something? Or have I gone baby brain too?

Holly - yes thank you scan went well! LO has put on from 1.020Kg last time to 1.380Kg this time so they are seeing me in 2 weeks for just a regular check up
