Congratulations LJF and Irn!

We haven't told anyone yet. We have a big wedding in 2 weeks, it'll definitely be noted that I'm not drinking 😆 but I don't know whether to be honest or not. Family and friends we will wait until after 1st scan I think and with work I'd like to leave it a few more weeks but it depends on appointment times etc.. I work part time so hopefully I won't have to take time off.

I think we will wait until the 20 week scan to tell dc1 as it's such a long wait otherwise. Plus we will find out the sex and I think that will make it easier for them.

LJFM2B · 02/10/2017 15:27

ElizabethLemon when i was pregnant before we had to go to a wedding, and i got a member of bar staff on my side and when ever i went to the bar he would poor half an apple juice and half lemonade in a wine glass OR lime and lemonade OR coke with a mixer and straw in it!! it saved alot of questions... and then just dance like you mean it and avoid 1-2-1 toilet breaks with drunk people!!

We were so excited before we told our parents at 7 weeks beforeSad, so this time im going to wait until i have a solid scan photo to show them Grin ... im trying to not let previous experience put a downer on this one but just being a little more cautious

Does anybody have any appointment dates through yet? i only registered myself this morning so im guessing im going to be waiting a while.

pulpi · 02/10/2017 15:45

Hi to all the recent arrivals!

First midwife appointment tomorrow. Bloods and the big questionnaire. No GP appointments first up here in Fife. There's too much of a doctor shortage to allow for that!

5+1 and the bowels have finally calmed down, only to be replaced with a knot of anxiety / nausea. Good times.

timeisnotaline · 02/10/2017 16:05

I have told a few people, but our family are all Australian so waiting till 8 weeks for parents and 12 weeks for the rest, although my sister knows. I'm going to have to tell work, the sickness has picked up a bit and I went home sick today, think I might have to work from home for a while. I'm 6 weeks :/

DT2016 · 02/10/2017 16:40

Hi ladies

I'm tentatively joining the thread, to sit quietly in the back! Got my BFP today. I had a very traumatic loss last year (cervical ectopic). I am so excited to be pregnant again but absolutely terrified too. We are fortunate to already have a DS who is 4. Praying for a straightforward pregnancy this time round.

My due date according to Ovia is 11 June.

Good luck everyone 🍀🤞 xx

lampert · 02/10/2017 17:01

Huge congratulations @DT2016 ! Welcome to the June thread. Wishing you a smooth and happy pregnancy this time. Sorry to hear you had a horrible experience previously Flowers

After you all takes about appointments I just called my GP surgery and they said i have to see a doctor before anything happens, so I will make an appointment for next week. That's the first time I've said 'I'm pregnant' out loud to anyone except DH and it felt WEIRD!!

lampert · 02/10/2017 17:01

Talked! Not takes.

Can I join please
dc #2
Due date 5th June 2018

IrnBruCraver · 02/10/2017 18:05

I had my first doctor's appointment today and was given grim statistics for early stages pregnancies - I am 4 weeks (especially given my pains these last 2 days) so despite telling myself to think positive I went around for the rest of the day in an awful snappy grump! But yes I must think positive (I suffer with my back so could be deferred pain) and take care of myself. I have also been told I will be under specialist care due to my hypothyroidism so at least I will have a close eye kept on me.

Good luck everyone, here's to lots of happy, healthy June babies x

Mumof3cheeky · 02/10/2017 18:05

I've had a pretty neurotic day today. By the time I got up at 6 after waking up at 4 30 I convinced myself I wasn't pregnant and that something is wrong. I keep going back and forth. I can't believe after all this time and dc I'm still doing this to myself and can't just relax 😩
I told dp and he is super excited and feel guilty I can't just enjoy it as it's definitely our last time!
Oh well there is not much I can do but wait until I have my early scan

weasledee · 02/10/2017 18:14

Hi mummyloves, welcome to the group! We are due date buddies Smile

Paragonian · 02/10/2017 19:05

Hi all, can I join? DC#1 due 8th June 😊🤔

MagggieMay · 02/10/2017 19:07

@irnbrucraver what were the stats? Did they say one in four? I'm so worried about this!

I have my docs appointment on Wednesday by which point I'll be 5 weeks to the day.

This may seem a silly question but at what point are you 12 weeks? Is it at the beginning of the 12th week or the end? My app (flo) is confusing me as it says I'm six weeks pregnant on Wednesday when actually it's just that it's my 6th week. Iykwim.

IrnBruCraver · 02/10/2017 19:56

@MagggieMay they did say 1 in 4 yes but I'm going to have a nice warm bath and hot water bottle on my rubbish back and see if that helps and try not to worry. I survived much more trauma in the womb myself so I must be made of tough stuff!

I have no idea how they go about it, probably 12 weeks from the day of the start of your last period and then whenever they can fit you in for a scan around then.

I'm going to have to tell my mother in law tonight. I was ill recently with my waterworks and had a load of tests and she has gotten wind that something else is up and is worrying so I had better come clean and hope she can, for once, keep a secret. She is a nurse so it can't hurt to have her on side!

BerryB · 02/10/2017 21:18

Hello everyone! I've also just found out I'm expecting and due on 7 June. It's my second. My son is nearly 2 Smile

ImogenTubbs · 02/10/2017 21:28

I haven't booked an appointment yet. I suppose I want to wait a bit to see if it sticks around. Have bought a digital test to do in the morning so I can see it in actual words. It's early days yet.

Flowers to everyone who's had a tough time. Here's hoping for smooth sailing for the lot of us!

Mumof3cheeky · 02/10/2017 21:33

Hi weasledee super exciting (when I'm not pricking😁) have you got other dc? X

Mumof3cheeky · 02/10/2017 21:33

*panicking 😆

SulkyPuddleDuck · 02/10/2017 22:44

@Ironbrucraver - I'm really nervous about this too - I guess there's literally nothing we can do except sit and wait, which has never been my strong suit... Just got back from dinner with the in laws. Luckily no one was drinking so I didn't look conspicuous with a herbal tea. I did feel like MIL was looking at me strangely though.. probably because DP looked all soft eyed and smiley. He has mentioned he's terrified of something going wrong too.

I wish there were more reassuring statistics!

pulpi · 02/10/2017 23:14

I'd forgotten about the anxiety nightmares. Just woke up in a dead panic. This has coincided nicely with midnight trips to the loo. Awesome. I clearly forgot the more glamorous aspects of pregnancy.

How are you ladies dealing with the pregsomnia?

SulkyPuddleDuck · 02/10/2017 23:40

@pulpi - badly is the answer! Can't get to sleep for hours, pass out exhausted in the afternoon then awake all night Hmm I'm hyper sensitive to every twinge my body makes which isn't helping! Does anyone know any natural sleep supplement safe for early pregnancy? I'm reluctant to resort to my usual prescription stuff (I've gone through lots of bouts of insomnia in recent years so am usually given zopiclone by the GP)

lampert · 03/10/2017 00:35

Wide awake here too. Of course earlier on I couldn't stay awake when watching the tv show I'd looked forward to all day but now that I'm actually tucked up in bed....wide awake. There's wayyy to much going on in my brain, I need to chill!

ladydolly · 03/10/2017 05:12

Ohh the pregsomnia! I've been tossing and turning since 3 and gave up about half an hour ago and came downstairs for crap tv/mumsnet/work catch up. I had it last time and all I can do is go to bed as early as I can and try and make the time up. I try not to look at my phone/the clock or drink too much before bed. Obviously none of this has worked today!

I had my booking in appt last week and my scan date arrived a the weekend but now I've had a letter for an antenatal clinic appointment in Jan. I'll be 20 weeks but it's not a scan letter, not sure if this is a consultant appointment? Will ask my midwife when I see her at 16 weeks.

I've bitten the bullet with an early private scan and booked it for 2 weeks time when I'll be 8 weeks. EEeeeek!

I've also told my mum, I waited til 12 weeks first time around but she was talking about booking a holiday next may and I just blurted out that she needed to be here next May to look after DD!

Bubble04 · 03/10/2017 06:21

The insomnia is driving me crazy too. Got really cross with DH because he woke me up when he came to bed at midnight (it was 2.30 the previous two nights...). As if I'm not tired enough getting up at 5 every morning for a week! Angry

IrnBruCraver · 03/10/2017 07:37

I suffer with insomnia at the best of times so hardly noticing a change so far except for lots of RLS spreading into my arms also. Nightmare.
