Quick post before I do truly go to bed (honest) ......

Well. Pretty much. One or two bits left to pop into bag at last min / purchase from shop; but I'm packed!!

Feels quite exciting!

Goodnight ....

EllieKthePA · 05/04/2007 00:04

I take it everything was OK Ellie?
You weren't very long
PMSL at your brother thinking his messages would disappear when he closed down the window.
CD - you may have packed yours quicker, but I'm going to pack mine better!

weeonion · 05/04/2007 07:34

wel ellie - what did they say? how did it go??

Eddas · 05/04/2007 07:37

Ellie, was it all ok? Assume it was, do you still have to go back this morning?

I'm still here, obviously, DD is off to BIL/SIL today to play with her cousins and is staying overnight I can't wait. I know that sounds mean but i am really looking forward to some me time. Dropping her off at 11 and then who knows when she'll be home tomorrow, bliss

So anyone want to take bets as to what time i start getting contractions, i just know it'll be today now dd is off out and i get from 11 to nearly 6 with no dd or dh

Ho hum, anyone have a baby last night, come on ladies, if my babies like living in me I will have to cry over your birth stories instead

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 05/04/2007 07:58

Ellie, how did it go?

Morning Eddas. Have a lovely dd free day!

nellyhel · 05/04/2007 07:59

Morning - feeling bit better today as actually slept for more than three or four hours, maybe actually about six. yipee... Still a very sore throat and dd and ds also coughing so we're all sitting drinking hot juice watching lazy town. Thank goodness it's the holidays!

Ellie - glad you were back quickly from hospital so assume things OK? - think I was dreaming about you last night, must have been worried!

I did catch up a bit with posts last night. Main thing I remember was lots of dcs playing up. Don't feel guilty about babies causing this, remember it could and probably would happen anyway! Maybe some of the timing is related to the new arrival, but they all go through stages. And sometimes there's no reason - and we all handle it badly a lot of the time, at least I hope it's not just me . Dd had one phase after another from about 1 and half, including holding her own in arguments (exhausting, far too articulate at 2 to 3), teenage door slamming at 4 and nasty insults about 5. Somedays I really didn't like her, and other times she was a complete angel. The 4 and 5 year old troubles seemed to be when she couldn't decide whether to behave as a toddler or to grow up a bit IYKWIM. And since she has started school has been miles better , she really needed to go. We've had a great insight into her teenage years already so should be prepared .

As to how to cope when bf etc, I tried to keep tv for then, became quite good at reading stories at the same time, and soon learned to check juice/snack/toilet had all been sorted out before I sat down. It's not all easy esp when you are exhausted but they do get used to it. And it was hilarious to see dd feeding her doll "from her tummy milk", up her top at her belly button. Didn't bother to correct her, just made sure I caught it on camera . Was a bit embarrassed when she did it in Tesco trolley though!

And you must all remind of this post when I am back here crying I can't cope with three -in a week or two's time... Dd is so excited she keeps reminding me how many days until the baby comes. I have explained he might be late and mummy might be "a little bit fed up" but I don't think she believes me!

nellyhel · 05/04/2007 08:02

Eddas - yes enjoy your day. I'm hoping to have the afternoon to myself too and sit in the garden if it is warm enough.

Do feel there is a shortage of new arrivals for us to coo over, expect they'll come along like buses again shortly!

Katy44 · 05/04/2007 08:06

Nellyhel - snap at the dreams! Weird how you can dream about someone you've never met!
Eddas, I hope your contractions do start today, selfish I know, but as nellyhel says we want more babies!! Wonder how octo is doing.

liath · 05/04/2007 08:12

Morning, looks like it's going to be another gorgeous day up here. Can't believe how warm it got yesterday.

All the best today, Ellie.

Sympathies to those with difficult dcs. I think it's one advantage of dd being only 2 and not understanding what's going to happen as she's been fine - it could be a different kettle of fish once baby's here, I suspect!

Had a fab day out yesterday, went on the trampolines and go-karts with gusto but no sign of labour. Oh well. At least I tired myself out so much that I slept really well last night for a change . Dd is in nursery this afternoon so I'll be on for some sitting in the sunshine in the garden too.

I feel another flurry of babies coming - what do you all reckon?? It's been a bit quiet. Hope all the new mums are OK, thinking of you!

EllieKthePA · 05/04/2007 08:31

what did they say? well.........

the first mw looked very concerned, put monitor on and everything, said she was very sorry she couldn't sit with me but she'd pop in and out, but if the heartbeat dropped below 130 ish for a while then call.

so when it went down to 120 ish and stayed there i called. got some completely diff woman, chinese, couldn't understand her, who told me that i was silly and it didn't matter unless it went below 100.

so after 20 mins of the heartbeat pinging between 110 and 170, only 3 significant kicks (and 2 of those were cos i coughed!), the damn woman sent me home!

i still have the appt this morning and will be going in for that, still no movement, but i know it's the same lovely lady that i saw earlier yesterday so feeling better about it x

They sound useless!
Hope your appointment today is better xx

EllieKthePA · 05/04/2007 08:35

oh, and if you can understand my brother's posts feel proud, he's 16 and real english is an alien concept to him

but this "it wil all b fine i no my great gramp is watchin over from above makein shor it goes gd" was so sweet it made me cry!

and now it's made me cry again

Gramps turned 100 on 04 Nov 2004 and died on 18th March 2005. Skott was really close to him, as was I, and Matthew adored him!

Gonna try to get a photo of Matthew and Uncle Skott, and one of Matthew and Gramps on my profile

Sounds like they did their job of reassuring you then Ellie - not! What is the point of telling us to monitor movements and then treating you like you are stupid??? Good you still have your appointment today, good luck.

EllieKthePA · 05/04/2007 08:42

ok, photos are on there now

off to hospital, back later x

Morning Luce!

Birdiebump · 05/04/2007 08:48

Good luck to Ellie and you're not the only one who cried at what your little brother said. He is an absolute sweetie!

Emmymummy · 05/04/2007 08:55

Ellie - good luck at the hospital, hope it's a bit more reassuring than last night. I'm sure bubs is fine. I do remember Em's movements totally dropped off a couple of days before I had her, so much so that I went into hosp to be checked, so maybe it's a sign??! But worth getting checked all the same.

Eddas - enjoy your day. Could really do with a day of doing nowt as am knackered today. Could go to sleep right now.

Am sitting here waiting for the carpet fitters to arrive (again), then into work for my last day. Am just about to log into my work emails to see how many I have this morning. Will be really annoyed if it's up to my usual numbers as that will mean that everyone is just ignoring the fact that this is my last day. Absoulutely refuse to be there until 7pm tonight finishing off.....

Katy44 · 05/04/2007 08:58

The lady tropical rainforest thread has been bumped. Useful for those of us who still have it all to go through!Emmymummy, hope you enjoy your last day at work

Morning all -managed 9 hours undisturbed sleep hhoooorah!

Good luck Ellie - they sounded pretty useless - when I went in last week mine dropped down to 90 three times and I nearly fainted with shock! If it beats between 120 and 170 that is pretty normal - should be nice and erratic when they are awake - when asleep kind of potters along at about 140 ish but without the up and down bits.

Would like to see some babies today pleae!
