mav- just posted on that other thread to you..

god - i really do feel for all you folks with other dcs. i dont know how you are coping with the everyday stuff that needs to be done on top of being pg, nevermind coping with them as go through a hard phase. i really cannot offer any ideas but just send hugs to you all.

ellie - thinking of you. hope there is someone to support you in the morning? anyone you can call on. we'll be here for you when you get back. xoxo

waspelly - hows the nipple tweakign going?? apparently 2 breast pumps at the one time for 15 mins / hr is a good idea as well??

EllieKthePA · 04/04/2007 21:10

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!

(make the most of it, i don't say it much )

since leaving the hospital at 4.30 i have still felt virtually no movement. had a brief 3 minute series of movements an hour ago, then nothing again.

am now working my way through loads of ice in the hope it wakes him up.

but what do i do if not? they've given me an appt for the morning, do i just sit it out? or call them and push to go in tonight?

my bro is down the road so could stay wth matthew overnight without me needing to wake him so at least i don't need to think about that.

AAAAAAAARGH!

I'm not upset. Even if youi did use myu name in vain

octo · 04/04/2007 21:15

Go in for another trace - from what you said they seem worried about baby squashing the cord or the blood flow through the cord. Ring them now and tell them not happy and you're coming in now.

CaptainDippy · 04/04/2007 21:16

The race between Katy and I to pack our hospital bags!!

Phone them, phone them ......

Katy44 · 04/04/2007 21:16

Ellie, can you ring them and see what they suggest? Tell them you've felt some very brief movement but nothing compared to what you're used to? Or if it would reassure you to go in, just say you haven't felt anything.

IntergalEGGticWalrus · 04/04/2007 21:16

and Ellie,

GO IN

CaptainDippy · 04/04/2007 21:17

Walrus.

I profusely apologise....

CaptainDippy · 04/04/2007 21:17

GO!!

Katy44 · 04/04/2007 21:17

Dippy, if you're going to cheat by starting tonight, then I win as a moral victory, surely
(OK, if we're confessing, I've made a start but got distracted looking at the cute baby clothes and so have packed a dressing gown, some slipper socks and a sleep suit so far!)

weeonion · 04/04/2007 21:17

ellie - i think you should give them a call. if you have got someone who coudl lok after matthew - then go. you have tried the ice, pint of cold water, something sweet and lying on left side - the usual advice. you are worried, know your body and little one so go with your instinct. i know it is scary but you will sit up all night fretting and worrying and have to head in in the morning anyhow?

EllieKthePA · 04/04/2007 21:18

it was used in admiration for you walrus

IntergalEGGticWalrus · 04/04/2007 21:18

I'm all for it, me

EllieKthePA · 04/04/2007 21:18

Birdie - after being reassured by consultant that baby size was fine - my mw said today - ooh he's not going to be small is he? - said if was breech it would be highly unlikely they would be able to turn him LOL!

Maveta - have posted on your thread.

Ellie - have you gone yet?!

EllieKthePA · 04/04/2007 21:20

and octo - that's it! that sounds exactly like what they were mumbling about but i'd never heard of it before so thouught i was making it up!

IntergalEGGticWalrus · 04/04/2007 21:21

I'm biutting in agian

Ellie, go in. I did when I was 333wks with DS"2. DS1 jumped on my bump, and I diodn;t feel anything. as sson as I strapped tpo the monitor DS2 kicked like buggerey. I was only there for 20 mins

GO IN NOW

Take a magazine and make the mosty of being able to put your feet up

Katy44 · 04/04/2007 21:21

Ellie, yes it does. Don't think the ice / cold water would work in your case, your little one's probably got polar bear tendencies after all the ice you crunch!! Please call them.

IntergalEGGticWalrus · 04/04/2007 21:22

soorry. That's 33 wks not 333weeks

Although by the time I was 33 weeks, it felt like 333

octo · 04/04/2007 21:23

No - without freaking you out it is very very serious - if you squash the cord the blood flow to/from the placenta gets reduced - they are pretty resilient for some time with reduced oxygen but baby must come out asap if he is in distress. Also if the cord is round the neck or between head and cervix. Please go and get checked - ds1 stopped moving and was monitored - they found he was having what they call late decelerations - where the heartrate takes time to recover after a contraction - this is a sign of distress - had an emergency section - all pretty calm really and was pleased had followed my instincts.
