Hey @Scandalicity
I’d dropped off for a while too. Finishing for mat leave very soon, and about 4 weeks to go now for me.

How are you feeling?

Miranda234 · 16/11/2017 20:09

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all doing well.

I'm due next Friday, don't know where the time has gone! I was sure that she'd make an early appearance but she seems quite comfortable in there, she's definitely running out of space though and it's really quite uncomfortable for me!
Any ladies who have had your babies and see this - did any of you have a sweep? I'm hoping it won't come to that but just wondered what it was like? I keep hearing horror stories about them and I don't know what to do if I'm offered one?!

Hope you all have a good eeekend 😊

Mrsbluebell17 · 17/11/2017 13:17

@Miranda234 I’m interested in the answers to this too. I’m a few weeks behind you and already starting to feel a little uncomfortable so fingers crossed for an early arrival. Hope you aren’t waiting too long.

kavanaughkj · 17/11/2017 21:31

Heya ladies - it'll be good to welcome 2 new babies to the thread soon! Sorry I've not been on here much lately - trying to get our daughter used to sleeping in her own room and much sleepless nights combined with trying to type around a squirmy baby mean I've just been lurking for a while.

I had a sweep, but only after I'd been induced, so I'm not sure how much my experience helps you. I was on gas and air at the time and needed it to help reduce the discomfort - it wasn't particularly pleasant but if I'd needed one to start things off I think I'd have gone for it anyway! I was SO uncomfortable by the end of my pregnancy that I really wanted it to be over asap ... hoping for a smooth ride for you all!

kavanaughkj · 17/11/2017 21:32

Sorry, THREE new babies! baby brain >_

Starmist · 18/11/2017 18:13

Hope everyone is doing well.

So exciting that you’re both so close to your due dates now! I had a sweep. I too had heard horror stories but it really wasn’t that bad as it didn’t last long. Just as I thought eek I don’t like it, it was over. Take deep breaths & try to distract yourself - I read a poster on the wall next to me to try & take my mind off it.

My little boy is 10 weeks old now. It’s been such a rollercoaster of emotions but I love him to bits.

Scandalicity · 22/11/2017 07:43

Eeeek MrsBluebell & Miranda, not long to go now at all!! Hoping for early arrivals for you both & you don’t get too uncomfortable! I think I’m thinking along the same lines as Kav re the sweep, if I get to the point I need one, I’m sure I’ll just be so desperate for something to happen I’ll take the discomfort & just go for it!!

Feeling really good thanks Bluebell, although I think I’m now getting to the point where things are going to start getting more uncomfortable as baby grows - think he/she has had a spurt recently, although it’s been absolutely plain sailing since about 14 weeks, so I can’t complain too much!!

Scandalicity · 22/11/2017 07:45

Starmist can’t believe your little boy is 10 weeks old! How fast time flies!! Hope you are all doing well Smile

Hope the sleepless nights don’t go on too much longer for you too kav & hope your little girl settles in well soon!

Carley27 · 23/11/2017 14:25

How are you doing Miranda? Can't believe your due date is tomorrow [shocked] Hope it all goes well (or hope it went well if baby has already made an appearance!).

Not long to go Bluebell, hope you're not too uncomfortable and not kept waiting too long!

Glad to hear things are going well Scandal, sounds like you've managed to be quite organised with buying the baby things :) side stepping to a calmer position at work sounds like a fabulous idea!

Hope the sleeping is going well Kav - sleeping in her own room is a big step!

Sounds like you're getting on well starmist, can't believe your little one is 10 weeks already - has it flown by?

I'm 36 weeks now..it still hasn't quite hit me that we will be having a baby soon (does it ever feel real before the baby arrives?!). Had my final growth scan this week and all looked fine, estimated weight 6lbs. Consultant happy to not see me again so other than weekly BP checks it's just waiting for baby to decide to make an appearance now!

Miranda234 · 23/11/2017 18:31

Hi ladies,

Thanks for the info about having a sweep, I saw the midwife today for my 40 week appointment and she said I'll be offered one at 41 weeks. I think I'll probably go for it then but hoping she'll be here before then! Can't believe I'm due tomorrow, it still seems very surreal that she could be here any day. I've had a lot of cramping today but I've had it on and off for a while so might not mean anything.

Great news about your growth scan carley, not long to go now for you!

Hope all the new babies are doing ok and all you other ladies and your growing bumps are good 😊

Starmist · 24/11/2017 23:27

Miranda hope you’re feeling ok & that things get moving for you soon. How exciting that you haven’t got too much longer before you get to meet your baby!

Carley it still doesn’t feel real even when baby is here! We look at him sometimes & wonder how he’s ours. Yes it has flown by but at the same time it feels like he’s been with us forever. I find it amazing that this little person suddenly comes into your lives & you’re so full of love for them & they feel like they’re your whole reason for living. It’s the most amazing feeling in the world. It is tough at times, especially at the start when your hormones are all over the place. Go easy on yourself, accept help wherever you can & don’t feel afraid to tell people to wait before visiting. It can be very overwhelming & it’s good to take some time for yourself to adjust & recover.

Miranda234 · 01/12/2017 06:48

Still no baby here, don't think she wants to come out in the cold!! Getting a little fed up now, back ache has intensified the last couple of days and I'm finding it hard to sleep! Hopefully not too much longer now...

Hope everyone is doing well 😊

kavanaughkj · 07/12/2017 07:27

Heya all! Sorry it's been so long since last posting here - I was just wondering if Miranda's bubba had made an appearance yet?

Coraline is over 4 months now and hitting the sleep regression - though last night was a bit better with a four and a half hour stretch at the start of the night. :) We're taking her to her first proper swimming lesson today which I'm really looking forward to! Been getting water splashed in her eyes during baths lately a lot to get her used to it before lessons. Just bought a new baby bath as well - the Schnuggle, which I heartily recommend as I can bath her using it on my own now, hands free if necessary. So much easier than using the IKEA baby bath we had before!

Miranda234 · 14/12/2017 18:22

Hi everyone,

Sorry been meaning to post earlier, didn't realise how much time a newborn takes up! I had our little girl who we've named Willow on Wednesday 6th December after a mammoth 4 day labour and a few complications along the way! We're home now and slowly settling into family life although trying to catch up on sleep is difficult! She is perfect though and we're so happy 😊

Hope the swimming lesson was good kav I can't wait to start doing stuff like that. 😊

Hope everyone else is getting on ok xx

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 15/12/2017 01:57

Hi everyone!! Somehow I completely forgot a about this thread! Congrats to recent baba arrivals and fx for upcoming ones - I remember @Mileymoocow getting her first BFP I actually cannot believe there's another on the way. My DD is 3 months old and it's been really rough going, but we are persevering and I am optimistic for the future. The thought of having another one makes me feel sick though, there's no way I could even consider it. I'm also so sad to hear about the old thread but also glad it's there for support. I think about them all so often and also don't want to go and hunt them down and rub a baby in their faces - especially when its been so awful but I know how much each of them wants a baby.

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 15/12/2017 01:58

Duh, forgot to say I used to be FXSkip 🤯

Mileymoocow · 15/12/2017 08:41

Hi fxskip! Lovely to see you here, and congratulations on your new arrival. Hope motherhood is treating you well. The first 12 weeks I seriously imagined DS would be an only child, but here we are with him at 15 months and another on the way Grin he's like a little slippery eel so no idea how I'm going to cope with 2.

Unfortunately I lost the baby in October, but I was very lucky to fall pregnant 2 weeks later and am currently 7 weeks now. Hopefully it goes alright this time!

Mileymoocow · 18/12/2017 21:04

Unfortunately lost this one, too Sad

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 19/12/2017 03:01

Oh I'm so so sorry @Mileymoocow how utterly awful for you. I know there's nothing I can say but I hope you are doing ok (as much as you can be) xx

marmitecheesetoast · 06/01/2018 19:30

Hey guys, I think about you all but never seem to have time to MN anymore but thought i'd pop on to say hi and see who was still about!

So so sorry to read your news Miley that is utterly shit Flowers Sending love your way.

Also sad to read about the original TTC thread moving to infertility, but lovely to see your name pop up Flash. Sending well wishes to all you lovely lot and hoping for a spate of BFPs for you all soon.

There must be a handful of snuggly little newborns now from the last few months! How is everyone doing?

Congratulations Miranda how are you and Willow doing? Just realised she must be 1 month today! Sorry to hear you had a difficult labour hope you're recovering well now.

Ah Kav the 4 month sleep regression... I remember that all too vividly!! Hope you're out the other side of it now... we are not in the midst of the 8 month regression!!

Hey Pig/Skip (seems a bit wrong writing Pig!) sorry to hear you've had a rough few months,, it's such a big adjustment isn't it? How are things going now? Hope you're doing well. (although you may now be hitting the 4 month regression?!!)

Eilidh is just over 8 months old now which seems bonkers! She has a great little personality and so much fun to play with now! She is majorly teething though which is having a big impact on sleep! Her two front teeth are nearly in and several almost through on the bottom too eeeek... so far just one actual jaggy corner through the gum but I have feeling several are going to appear at once! I wish they would just hurry up and come through now... although i'm slightly worried for my nipples!!

Love and well wishes to you all xx

Carley27 · 18/01/2018 20:19

Hey all 👋 hope you're all well. Sorry haven't been on MN much recently and haven't gotten round to providing an update.

Our baby girl was born on 21st December ☺️ the last 4 weeks have flown by (in a blur of nappies and feeds!), been tough at times but loving being a mummy.

Wow 8 months marmite! Hope Eilidh's teeth have come through, it must be so painful for them!

So sorry miley 💕 hope you've got good support around you and taking things easy.

Hi Pigeon (was thinking I don't remember you until you said it was Skip 😂). I keep an eye on the other thread too and often think of them, though it's quieter now they have a whatsapp group.
Sorry to hear things have been tough, I'm sure it will get easier, still early days really.

Congratulations on baby Willow Miranda, beautiful name! Hope you're both getting on well.

Hi kav - how was Coraline's swimming lesson? I can't wait to start going to the pool.

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 20/02/2018 12:27

Anyone around still?! I lost my password and finally remembered to update it! S is now 5 months, the four month regression came (hard) and went, now we're suffering through leap 5! Seems to be no rhyme or reason, some nights she wakes once or twice and some nights it's hourly 🤷‍♀️ how's everyone doing?

kavanaughkj · 21/02/2018 00:19

I’m still here! I don’t look in very often, mostly because I had no idea how much time a baby takes up - in the earliest days I found it hard figuring out how to have a pee when I wanted one! - though it’s far easier now. Coraline is 6.5 months now and a total darling who has just figured out how to blow raspberries, which she does incessantly :) she’s loving the swimming lessons and is now getting to grips with solids as we’ve been trying out baby led weaning. I have NO idea where the time has gone - it’s utterly zoomed past and I’m not loving the thought of leaving her to go back to work, though it’s not for a few months yet. At least C is sleeping well now for the most part - we followed the Baby Whisperer when the 4 month regression hit and it was astonishingly effective for nights, though naps took a bit longer to crack. Hope you’re good Skip - you and everybody else here!

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 23/02/2018 06:56

Hi kav!! Sounds like things are going well for you, great to hear. We're still having on/off sleep issues, with early waking bring the new favourite ☹️ s loves music classes and at 5.5months is really developing a personality! But oh. My. God. This is not easy!

MrsG280516 · 23/02/2018 09:05

Hello everyone, completely fallen off MN since the 2-3 month mark! Hope you are all doing well and those little ones are thriving?

Thea has been a completely different baby since around 13 weeks, she's now 27 weeks! We decided to give up breastfeeding (well, combi feeding) as she wasn't gaining weight well and switched to full formula and since then she's been blooming. Her colic issues almost immediately disappeared and she has been such a happy little baby rather than crying most of the time she's awake.

She loves swimming and getting licks from her furry older brother Alfie the beagle
