Hello all, kicking off another thread for the TTC1 crew... check in below if you please!

Yay for intact foof Skip, definitely not to be sniffed at! Yah prolonged pushing phase, back to back baby, episiotomy, forceps rotation... ah well no time or energy for sex anyway 😂
How's baby Skip today? Good luck for the scan results xx

FXSkip · 15/09/2017 15:57

Ha ha 'sniffed at' choice wording @marmitecheesetoast!! Thanks everyone for your support and kindness as I've really struggled this last few days. The scan came back with positive news so we are just working hard on breastfeeding and then we're allowed to go home in a few days!! She's got a good latch and a strong suck so I'm not worried. Here's a wee pic of our angel!

Gorgeous Skip!! And that's fantastic news. Ha ha that was inadvertent!!

We're just on our way home from a wedding, weddings with a baby is very different! She charmed everyone of course though and is actually sleeping for once in tjencar just now! Totally knackered though and don't really feel like I can face another broken night and 4am start! Bloody sleep regression ...

macsworth · 15/09/2017 21:10

Skip she's so gorgeous! I'm so happy that today has had good news for you. Got fingers crossed that you get to take her home very soon.
(And congrats on your in tact foof!)

Marmite it's great to be honest about things like prolapse! Pregnancy and childbirth is all glamour isn't it!

Hey bluebell. How are you doing?

Starmist · 15/09/2017 21:13

Skip she's so beautiful. I'm glad to hear all is well. Hope you recover from your c section quickly. You take it easy xx

OhOurBilly · 15/09/2017 21:29

Amazing news skip and she is absolutely gorgeous! Oooh newborn snuggles, honestly, the snuggles are amazing! It's almost enough to make me broody...almost! And im so glad for the positive scan news, YAY! And s good latch and strong suck! You're 90% there! The latch is the hardest bit to crack! Lather up your nips with lansinoh before and after feeding. Although I prefered a nipple cream called Bennett's which I found 100% more soothing and less greasy than lansinoh. I used to bite on a dummy for the initial back to back feeds too. Xxx 🌷🌹🌸🌹🌷

OhOurBilly · 15/09/2017 21:35

I'm another one who was glad I had him surgically removed in the end. Back to back with a sideways/forehead presentation and he was well and truly stuck in my pelvis. Surgeon said if I'd actually dilated enough they'd have wanted to try forceps (which I refused to consent to anyway) and the damage that would have been caused would have been fairly catastrophic. Weirdly thing, my scar still hurts more on some days, Dh calls me Vagina Voldemort. (Harry Potter scar reference)

Miranda234 · 15/09/2017 22:02

Aw skip she is beautiful and that is such great news about the scan result. Can't imagine what you've been through but sounds like you've handled it so well, have been thinking of you.

Thanks for your honesty ladies, I've not been very good with the pelvic floor exercises so will definitely start doing them!
I had to have another lot of blood tests this week as my 28 week bloods showed antibodies but when they took the 28 week bloods I was severely dehydrated so it was an insufficient sample to send off for more tests. They didn't really say much about it, just that it's unusual - there wasn't much urgency so hoping it means all is ok! Baby is moving as much as ever so that makes me feel better.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend 😊

FXSkip · 16/09/2017 08:28

Ha @OhOurBilly you never fail to crack me up. If I ever get broody again I am going to look back at this thread and all the hell I have been through. That should nip it in the bud.

So it's 8.30am, I went sleep after expressing at 11pm, I was woken up with pre-poop pains at 12, and then called to feed my LO at 12.30. By 2 she had fed and fallen asleep so I was taken back to my ward, feeling very poorly, and then proceeded to have V&D until 5am, then I slept till 7 when they woke me up to check on me 😩 now hopefully can go back to sleep until LO wakes up agin. With any luck that will be lunch time.

@Miranda234 that sucks - how come you are so dehydrated though?

Sorry you're having such a rough time Skip Sad hope you get home with your little angel soon.

Thea turned a whole month old yesterday. She's been going through her first leap (really recommend Wonder Weeks app) this past week and it's been a bit of a struggle but she seems much happier now. We also got our newborn photos back this week, these are my favourites!

Starmist · 17/09/2017 09:52

Gorgeous photos MrsG! Thea is such a cutie. I will check out that app thanks.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

marmitecheesetoast · 18/09/2017 10:52

Aw gorgeous MrsG!
Yes another recommendation for wonder weeks here, really helps you understand what's going on with their development and behaviour. We've just entered Leap 5 today, but feel like we're still dealing with the affects of Leap 4 and the sleep regression!! 😱

In other news, E hasn't pooped for 4 days now which is the longest she's ever gone... on edge for the poonami that is going to hit... only question is when!! 😂

macsworth · 19/09/2017 12:32

How are you and the little one getting on skip?

FXSkip · 19/09/2017 17:58

@marmitecheesetoast I just downloaded it so hope it's good.

@macsworth thanks for asking. I am sore, exhausted and fed up - normal I guess!! If one more person tells me to 'enjoy the newborn cuddles' or 'make sure to sleep when she's sleeping' I will actually lose the plot 😫😫😫😫😫

Scandalicity · 19/09/2017 18:58

Oh those photos are gorgeous MrsG Smile

Sorry you're still having a bit of a rough time FXSkip, how are you healing?

Good luck on the poonami marmite!!

Hope everyone is well Grin

Very excited to be hitting 20 weeks on Monday, feel less like an impostor now with an actual bump & excited to start buying!!

Who is due to pop next??

kavanaughkj · 20/09/2017 04:40

It's normal, Skip. Flowers I've been having ups and downs with Coraline - she has days where she's all smiles and very little crying now, which are so lovely, and then days like today where if she's awake she's crying (screaming when the health visitor came today) and rejecting the boob - it's exhausting. But then I see her sleeping or look at a picture of her little smushy face and I fall in love all over again. I just periodically want to chuck her out of a window is all. Blush

MrsG, lovely pics of Thea! I couldn't resist the Bounty lady's offerings either - I've posted my fave from ours - and one taken when she was three or so weeks, and one from last week. :) She's the most adorable little timewaster!

We're all so bloody lucky, ladies ... but ye gods it's a freaking tough job and no mistake.

Hey marmite - good luck with the poonami! hee. And hiya Scandal, hope everything continues to go smoothly!

Forgot to put this thread on watch and lost track for a bit, just been having a catch up!

Massive congratulations on baby Dexter starmist! Love the name :) Hope you're recovering well from your c section.

Skip.. you absolute trooper, sorry your labour wasn't easier but you did it! Congratulations!! Sounds like a really tough time but excellent that you got good news from the scan results, hope you're both on the mend now.

Beautiful photos MrsG! Can't believe Thea is a month old already.

Wow nearly 20 weeks already Scandal? That seems to have flown by! Great to hear things are going well for you and that bump has appeared!

Kav - Coraline is just adorable! You sound like you're doing great :)

All these babies are making me super broody! I'm 27 weeks today, have my first growth scan (due to low papp-a) next week which I can't help but be slightly nervous for! Will be good to see baby again though.

Scandalicity · 25/09/2017 06:46

Morning ladies!!

Hope everyone is well, well, as can be for a Monday morning Angry

Got my 20 week scan this morning so up early trying to do some work from home! Thought I was fine with it, then all of a sudden last night I started to get a bit nervous & struggled to sleep, feeling ok now I think & just can't wait to see baby again! Slightly tempted to find out the sex, but think we are going to stay team vanilla!! Grin

Starmist · 25/09/2017 08:43

Aww thank you Carley

Scandal good luck for the scan. If you can resist finding out the gender you're much stronger than me!

Skip how's baby Skip? How are you recovering from your c section? I'm loads better than I was but I'm still quite achey. I'm 3 weeks pp today. DH is off work this week so we're going to go out for some walks together & get me building my fitness back up slowly.

D is doing so well. He's going 4 hours between feeds & he settles very quickly. He seems very content & alert bless him. Tried BFing but he wouldn't take to it without shields & he was getting frustrated as he wasn't getting enough & he was losing weight. We switched to formula & he's been piling the weight on since & he's so much happier. It's taken a massive amount of stress off me & I feel like I'm enjoying my time with him now rather than panicking about BFing. Can't believe how many people have asked if I'm BFing him, there's so much pressure placed on it.

MissyJones80s · 25/09/2017 09:37

Scandalicity all the best for today. I was also quite nervy but excited to see the little one again. It is sooooo tempting to find out boy or girl but we managed to withstrain ourselves (somehow) and are still having a surprise! Take it all in because unless you are going to go for a 4d scan or need more scans this is the last time you will probably see baby before the big day!!

Starmist breast feeding just doesn't work sometimes the main thing is baby is getting the nutrients they need. I do wish people wouldn't ask about such things. I'm going to try but I certainly won't feel guilty if it doesn't work out!

Carley27 · 25/09/2017 11:58

Hope the scan went well Scandal :) did you manage to stay Team Vanilla?

Mrsbluebell17 · 26/09/2017 21:51

Hope all went well scandal!

Starmist* the whole perception around BF makes me angry. People have been very assumptive with me that it’s what I will do, and I’m not sure I will for various reasons, when you tell them they often look horrified. Like ‘why wouldn’t you?’ Sort of look! I am glad to hear formula is working out well for you, and it’s good you’re enjoying it all. I’m really pleased for you.

Skip how are you?

Mrsbluebell17 · 26/09/2017 21:51

Bold fail, oops.

Who’s due next?

FXSkip · 27/09/2017 09:54

Morning everyone, sorry I've been in a bit of a fug this week. We were doing ok, then baby got mouth thrush and I got nipple thrush, then my wound got infected and I'm back on antibiotics and fully expecting another round of thrush to kick off. Baby is perfect during the day, regular feeds and naps and hardly cries, but at night she just will not be put down. In the end we co-slept last night even though we tried really hard not to, it's just getting ridiculous how tired we are. I'm so sick and tired of being in pain, and crying all the time and feeling like I'm failing at everything. The only thing I'm clinging on to is the fact that we are still breastfeeding, albeit with nipple shields and sometimes it's so painful I almost black out. I hear what you guys are saying with the pressure and all, but with everything this baby has been through I feel like if I switch to formula both her health, and mine, and our bond would be compromised. Ultimately though fed is best. The health visitor will be weighing her tomorrow and I really hope she hasn't lost weight.

Starmist · 27/09/2017 17:01

Skip my wound is infected too, its so sore. I feel miserable I just want to be back to my normal self. How are you managing to shower? DH created me a lovely cling film & sellotape skirt this morning & I thought it seemed pretty water tight but the dressing got quite wet. Not sure what else to try & I can't bear not to have a shower.
Please don't feel like you're failing, you & baby Skip have been through so much, you're doing an amazing job. Have you told you're OH how you're feeling? Hope you've got lots of support & that the HV appointment goes well tomorrow
