hey at least he packing - i always wear mismatched bra and knickers anyway - i had a discussion about this recently with some friends and found it hillarious - the ones that always wear matching stuff were HORRIFIED at us that never. i think it makes me more interesting if i don't match then DH doesn't know whats there in advance
how do you like living in Leeds? do you miss home?

foxybrown · 31/03/2007 20:34

Go on then Daisy, go get on with your RL. We'll talk about you while you're gone ......

foxybrown · 31/03/2007 20:36

Do you derlor? Gosh, mine ALWAYS matches - its all washed out grey. Can't wait to add milky yellowey-grey nursing bras to the ensemble too

derlor · 31/03/2007 20:38

thought you were going to be all leopard printy (with milk stains) foxy?

foxybrown · 31/03/2007 20:44

I've ordered my Agent Provocateur postpartum range. Haven't you?

Jeez, this baby has a foot in my left hip and its head bashing my breast-bone. Seems to be doing some sort of aerobics tonight!

foxybrown · 31/03/2007 20:45

anyone got any suggestions on how to fix mini-eggs round the brim of the 'easter bonnets' (currently a paper plate) to resemble dangling corks like aussies don't wear?

derlor · 31/03/2007 20:47

do you ever get that strange sensation when the baby is kicking your colon? or is that just me (got it now)
glad you got your priorities right i have ordered that collection in every colour - got those big hold in corsett pant things as well!!!! NOT

foxybrown · 31/03/2007 20:55

with suspenders? Oh yes! FP will be excited! Gotta love milky love-udders!

doggus · 31/03/2007 21:05

Hello all. Loved your having it all stuff, foxy, and posted you a big long one but then the Net fucked up and lost it. The gist was - it's often a question of ambition which is something I was never 'blessed' with - all I wanted was a happy life with a partner and enough money to sustain my M&S food shopping habit! I stumbled into the City after my degree, worked there for 12 years, but never really had a career as such and then dh and I set up on our own. Dh frankly does most of the work but it will be a godsend when the bub arrives as he can help (though I will be doing more). Like you I get so angry with the 9-5, 5 days a week thing, I really hope it changes as it will help women in particular so much. I mean, why 9am nowadays?

Mummyjx, I am with you on the cooking thing. We live off easy stuff like M&S ready meals and salady bits, baked beans, Lloyd Grossman sauces, you get the idea. The only thing I can cook well is puddings and cake, funny that...

Lastly for the shoe-crazy amongst us (Marylou?) - go to here and take a look at the new Georgina Goodman collection. Her usual stuff is £200 plus!

doggus · 31/03/2007 21:07

Foxy - on the Easter bonnet, how about superglue and dental floss?

derlor · 31/03/2007 21:17

oh doggus nice shoes think i may have to get me some of those platform ones as a present to self.
i'm signing off now to have a lovely snuggly evening in front of TV with DH.
night all x

OP posts:
foxybrown · 31/03/2007 21:25

is superglue toxic though?

Have solved the mini-egg problem.

I ate them

doggus · 31/03/2007 21:33

Derlor - am getting the platforms and flat sandals for the rest of pg!

Foxy - PMSL! Much better result than fannying about with superglue.

Night all, am going to slob with Mini Eggs. I am bulk buying them before next weekend!

foxybrown · 31/03/2007 21:34

I'm off too. Gonna watch Desperate Housewives and read my new marie claire. ahhh! Sleep well everyone! xx

mummyjx · 31/03/2007 21:50

Sob everyone had gone.
Foxy I would have done bizarre things with the mini eggs trying to make a little net (like tying rope round a boulder - I don't do that often) to hang them in or sewing through them (so they could be eaten afterwards). As you have eaten them it's not a problem. How about getting foil covered ones to replace them then you can glue them on and still eat them after? {I can't sacrifice chocolate for the sake of art... we don't have easter bonnet troubles here, my problem is graphic religious symbolism from DS1 who is 10. And because it's an easter card I have to put it on the mantlepiece and look at it. The only thing that's missing is the "I'm Brian" caption at the bottom. Bless him, he really takes these things on board. Sadly I will have nightmares for weeks...)
I would be happy to be Ria, feel she is far more organised and capable than me, not to mention thinner and has a cleaner (not so sure about the haircut). I even burnt the lavender wheatbag out of DS2s baby lamb snuggly thing today.

I will admit to having NO matching underwear at all. (when you have to buy steel reinforced bras anyway, they only have granny-pants to match)

mummyjx · 31/03/2007 21:52

Forgot to ask - does anyone else get an odd pain-like twinge in the pubic bone sort of area? Is it normal? (Probably not. After all, I'm not...)

Daisybump · 01/04/2007 10:06

LOL at the mini-eggs foxy...

Just a quick one before I set off on my travels...even though no-one is about and I'm talking to myself......

I finished all my work, so I am officially free .

Fingers crossed I'll survive a four and a half hour train journey (with only one change thank the lord (as its Sunday!!)) in one emotional piece. Armed to the teeth with power rangers, colouring books, dried fruit and lots of water (can't risk any sugar today..as it sends him bonkers).

Defo seeing doc when I get back about my emotional state....this is not normal and its taking over my life. Had a screaming hissy fit at DH last night as he'd promised to change the bed and I had to do it (it was getting to the toxic stage) and I can't bend over as it kills my back...then I made him sleep on the sofa with a smelly old blanket since he likes toxic bedding so much....see, not normal

I'll catch up in a few days. Keep smiling (even if it is only through gritted teeth)

Seansgirl · 01/04/2007 12:08

Bloody hell! I go away for a week and it all happens doesn't it?!! Scraps, rampant rabbits, porn star offers, women that don't know they are prg/had their baby, blimey and so much chat I am still trying to catch up! I do also know someone that didn't know they were prg and thought they had appendicitus also. WTF?

Anyway, still going to loiter and catch up for a bit anybody posted any prg pics on here? Have posted DD pics from hols but think any with me are very scary!

sputnik · 01/04/2007 12:11

LOL at your miini-egg solution Foxy, and at the "I'm Brian" Mummyjx - one of my all time favourite films. All I can say is don't move to Italy, it's gory cricifixes a go-go here, many complete with dripping blood etc

Good luck for the train journey Daisy, I'll be facing similar with my plane trip on wednesday with DD, just hoping there won't be delays. Hope you have a really good break and a chance to reset yourself, IYSWIM.

I'm off to visit my folks in Wales, think it was Foxy asking where I was heading. I'm really looking forward to it.

sputnik · 01/04/2007 12:14

Hi Seansgirl, how was St Ives? Hope you had some decent weather. It's going to take several hours for you to catch up with the chat so I advise you to settle back with some mini eggs

Seansgirl · 01/04/2007 12:24

It was fab thanks. I would love to live there - weather was pretty good for March too! Added bonus! When are you coming to Wales Sputnik? Sorry if said I have only got up to Fridays posts and have done some skim reading!

BTW highly recommend a rabbit if I was any good I'd do a link, will try but bought mine probably 6-7 years ago from here sh

Thanks for the mini egg tip Sputnik (drool!) but am gonna pass (sorry girls) ate too much cakes etc in St ives and have had horrendous heartburn for several days.

Seansgirl · 01/04/2007 12:25

Hooray! No longer a techno-dur! Hooray!

sputnik · 01/04/2007 12:37

Off on wednesday for a week. Hope it doesn't rain the whole time.

Seansgirl · 01/04/2007 12:55

Well, its bright and sunny at moment but fairly windy and a bit chilly but at least theres no rain! I have known t-shirt weather at easter so fingers crossed for you!

bumperlicious · 01/04/2007 13:11

Seansgirl, your DD is gorgeous, what a cutie!

Sputnik, just to be nosey, how long have you lived in Italy and what made you move over there? I love Italy, went there for honeymoon last year, just love the language - oh and the gelatti (sp?)!

Had a lovely night last night with some friend over and DH and his friend had cooked lots of yummy tapas (DH never normally cooks so quite and event!) but meant I didn't see him all day and he is working 6 days a week at the moment

Going back to the W/SAHM debabte, I just find it quite hard because I've only been in my job 2 years, so I don't feel like I have had my career yet. I still feel quite young to be having a baby, and in an ideal world would probably have waited a while long but DH is 16.6 years older than me, so that had an impact on our decision. Plus he has a badly paid job so I am the main breadwinner. Financially I haven't a clue how we are going to cope. Fortunately as I work for the civil service I get lots of flexibility, but I still do worry about missing out on a career. DH would happily give up his job and look after the baby full time, but I don't think I'd want that either.

Hope you have a good time away Daisy.

Whereabouts in Wales are you going to Sputnik? I did my degrees in North Wales and really miss it (even though it was the arse-end of nowhere!)
