it's not awful bumble, but very tricky i must admit

bumble75 · 26/03/2007 14:08

And I'm not diplomatic at the best of times!

Will play it by ear and blame any moments of insanity on hormones, as someone said earlier - won't be able to use that excuse for much longer!

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 14:15

Bumble, I really sympathise with you. I know it's not as far as your parents are travelling but my parents are a couple of hours away and ILs are four hours away so I know it's hard to tell them what you want when they're making such an effort for you IYSWIM. Sending you vibes!!! and remember no sex, pineapple, curry or castor oil for you!

bumble75 · 26/03/2007 14:20

Thanks NuttyGirl & Ellie - fingers crossed the tradition of babies running late in my family will continue!

LesleyR · 26/03/2007 14:23

Been reading for ages to catch up! WCL's birth story was lovely and hopefully all going well with Octo.

All this chocolate talk is making me think my afternoon waddle will take me past a shop today. Already excited about meeting friends for coffee and cake tomorrow. Is it wrong that the cake is more exciting?

On the PIL and parents staying/visiting topic, mine all live 100 miles away. It's their first grandchild and they are all v. excited, but I've already told them they can visit after the birth but cannot stay over. I think it's really important that DH and I can focus on time with our LO and getting used to being a family. I know my MIL is not happy about this but mercifully DH has totally backed me up.

muminabigtumi · 26/03/2007 14:49

LesleyR - hurray for a DH with some backbone!!!

Really sympathise with everyone having the PIL dilemma re after birth visiting.

I remember being really worried and worked up about it last time...didn't want anyone at the hospital or anything like that - in the end - I didn't care! Both my parents and their partners, my brother and his girlf and my BIL and ex SIL were all in the day room waiting for James to arrive! Unfortunatley they were all totally disappointed as whole thing descended into emergency c section drama but I just remember saying to Phil - "Yeah they can come down" whilst in between contractions...maybe it was the effect of the gas and air??

Afterwards and when we got home though I wanted time to settle in as I felt institutionalised after being in hospital for 10 days - we did have rellies descend on us but thankfully they all live close enough that they go home and don't stay over!!!

It is absolutley glorious sunshine outside....think I may go and sit in the garden with a cup of tea...will have to wear a cardy though - tis still chilly - brrrr

Just been reading an article in Heat Mag about why Kerry Katonas baby came a monthe arly and apparently if you drink wine it stops the chances of your womb contracting so having wine late in pregnancy actually means you are less likely to go into labour sooner.....BUGGER!!!! goes to pour remnants of my emergency relaxation wine down the sink...
x

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 14:49

Well I'm getting impatient and I want mine NOW....but seeing as that doesn't seem likely I'll settle for on my due date (cos I've got a bet on with DH!!!)

EllieK · 26/03/2007 14:50

we want to know what Octo is doing! how inconsiderate is she to keep us waiting this long

Tili · 26/03/2007 14:52

im with you Elliek I keep having a quick pop in to see if theres any more news

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 14:52

I know...I just can't get on with anything cos I'm excited and waiting for my phone to beep!!!

and Ellie - what is with that woman on the employment thread you're on....am not posting cos I'll just be nasty!!!!

geordiemacminx · 26/03/2007 14:53

i could take a big stick to kerry katona...and never tire of beating her!!!

EllieK · 26/03/2007 14:53

i get excited every time the active conversations shows that nutty has posted on here!

LesleyR · 26/03/2007 14:53

Just been reading a truly disgusting, but also quite funny thread about seeing a woman make her 7 and 4 yr old wee into bags in the middle of Tescos, then stash them on her trolley! Yucky on so many levels.

EllieK · 26/03/2007 14:53

you mean Xenia?

geordiemacminx · 26/03/2007 14:54

sorry - that sounds a bit random given that I x-posted!!!

Eddas · 26/03/2007 14:55

I read that yesterday, not pleasant. Thought when i saw the title i may have been doing that too but i let dd (who's 2) use her portable potty and tie the bag and leave it in the trolley or pushchair til i find a bin so not the same thing at all!!!Hopefully

Why wouldn't she just take the kids to the loo? DD does hold it but not for long i bloomin hope by her dc's ages she can hold it to get there

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 14:57

Ellie - yeah...sounds like she has issues!!!

EllieK · 26/03/2007 14:57

you'd expect it at the age of our dc's Eddas, but not that old , i'd leave the trolley and take them, and regularly have done with matthew

EllieK · 26/03/2007 14:58

from what i can gather of her nutty, this is quite common, keep seeing references to her turning every thread into her crusade

EllieK · 26/03/2007 15:00

very random gmm, and quite ing i have to say! MIABT only said she drank wine

Eddas · 26/03/2007 15:02

Oh i do too Ellie if there's a loo! I reckon i'd have been open mouth starring at her if i'd seen it!! Some people are very odd!

Re Xenia, she has very set views i think. Very for womens lib and all that, but IMO forces it at you. Wouldn't bother to argue with her!!!

EllieK · 26/03/2007 15:04

don't plan to Eddas, she's way too ott for me

at least you have a dd, matthew and i are currently having 'issues' because he's a boy and wants to use the boys toilets but then can't get the doors open to get out

babysopiniontakesover · 26/03/2007 15:11

Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaase don't get me started on Xenia. i'm fairly easy going normally speaking bit if there is one person who REALLY gets my back up its her. I never know whether she's just a "made up" person with all the she comes out with, that and oh yeh make sure you get paid at at least £600 for ONE morning bullshit??????WTF

EllieK · 26/03/2007 15:12

calm yourself lady

babysopiniontakesover · 26/03/2007 15:13

Set views are fine but all she talks about is the bloody amount of money she earns ( you will find reference to this in nealry every of her postings) and how it is justified to work ft with small kids. It IS justified thats fine but its just the way she forces it at you. I think its herself shes trying to convince.
