I've literally just cried on the phone to dh because mil is being a cow 🙈

nat2311 · 04/07/2017 12:09

I'm glad I'm not the only one then! 😂

And I'll prepare OH for Day 3!

I cried last night at the end of 'Born in Chelsea: Binky + JP Have a Baby' on E4.

Tried to hold it in because I felt so stupid and pathetic for getting emotional about people I don't know having a baby (I've never even watched Made in Chelsea 🙄) but it suddenly just blurted out as one loooong louuuud sob. Weirdest cry I've ever had in my life 😅

AnnaL82 · 04/07/2017 12:16

Thanks for everybody's support. He's getting on the bus to the airport right now. I'm thinking that while his work has my contact number, there is no way to contact me if he is travelling. Need to write a card in his wallet or stating it clearly on the phone. I have been thinking that for a long time after last year episode but he kept repeating there's no point i'm fine etc. Now the situation is changing, in 3 days it wouldn't be just me anymore.
Had the last scan this morning, DS is fine, 3.150kg/52 cm, but my blood pressure was found over the moon (been low all my life and throughout the whole pregnancy). 9 hours for this first step to go.

Good luck everybody Flowers

glitterglitters · 04/07/2017 12:16

...and Day 5 too. Day 3 is worse though.

Mawita · 04/07/2017 13:28

Ladies!

Baby Shea Antony Rodriguez-Keegan arrived yesterday 3rd of July at 3.03 weighting 3.3 kilos. We are both very well. My waters broke Sunday night after baby shower on sat and a lovely picnic by the river. We are staying in hospital for a couple of days due to diabetes.

Labour was fast but got very painful so went for epidural! Which was amazing... I honestly take my hat off to women that do it without. It did make it diffilt to push and slowed the contractions a bit which meant I had to have the syntosium and the ventouse.

Had 3 tears which meant I bled more than normal so there was like 20 people in the room all of a sudden scary times. My midwife was an angel and the doctor was young and handsome which helped although half way through getting baby's head out I wanted to kill him!!! (Hahaha) had a strong desire to kick him.

He dealt with it all well and explained everything 5 times as I was out of it.

Funny my mum eneded up being with us as she was worried about us due to being 3 weeks early and justa arrived at the hospital and refused to leave us. DH welcomed the support and she was amazing, I was in too much pain to. Care at this point and having them there meant they drove us back and forth from the hospital. All my fears of having to managed her were unfounded she was brilliant at supporting me and DH. And after the scary birth we needed the extra person to ask the questions neither of us thought off. When they took me to recovery she also kept fussing and noticed I was swollen all over and told the midwife and My DH to ask and insisted I get checked out. It turned out to be an allergic reaction to the drugs and they had to immediately give me more to counteract them.

So without mama bear these things could have slipped through the net of a 1000 doctors!

That's all from me for now ladies.

@luci silence is promising fingers crossed for her.

@not wish you a speedy recovery.

Best for all of you.l and impending births.

glitterglitters · 04/07/2017 14:05

Ohhh @Mawita what a stunner and someone is going to have a lucky number for life! I love his name as well ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

So pleased that your mum was able to be so supportive. It's crazy how quickly the situation can change when you're actually in labour.

Hope you're enjoying lots of lovely snuggles and you're feeling right as rain soon enough.

And yeah, it really does bloody hurt!! 😙

nat2311 · 04/07/2017 14:21

Congratulations @Mawita he is gorgeous! I'm getting impatient and more and more broody by the day! Hope your recovery is speedy and enjoy all the baby snuggles!

Congratulations @Mawita he's absolutely gorgeous 💙💙💙 what a great name too. And all the 3s! I'm so glad it worked out having your mum there for support after all and that you are recovering well.

ButterflyFree · 04/07/2017 14:47

@AnnaL82 It would be worth setting up the Medical ID page on your DH's iPhone (if he has an iPhone that is...) - actually I would recommend every iPhone user do it, but unfortunately many don't even know about this functionality!

It is found in the 'Health' folder, and the details are accessible even when the phone is locked, via the 'Emergency' option (see screenshots below). Healthcare professionals are aware of it.

You can list all sorts of details such as existing conditions, allergies etc and nominate several emergency contacts linked to the address book in your phone.

Hopefully it won't be needed and your DH's travels to you will go smoothly, but it's a good thing to have as a backup for everyone really. And bless you for having a blood pressure spike at the moment - it's understandable. Mine was the highest it's been at my last appointment too, because I had just been explaining my DH's military call-up to the midwife. It's bound to be because you are stressed and worried at the moment 💐

@ButterflyFree thank you so much, I was thinking exactly of something like that! Yes he has an iPhone and I'm sure he doesn't know of this feature but if medical professionals are aware of it well let's go for it... will do it asap!

Congrats @Mawita!

Spindelina · 04/07/2017 18:53

Congratulations, Mawita!

CatRash · 04/07/2017 20:06

Congratulations @Mawita!! He's gorgeous!! Well done you! Hope you're recovering well!!

Lallypopstick · 04/07/2017 20:34

What a lovely baby @Mawita - glad your mum was helpful too.

Not I hope the steroids are helping you recover. One of my friends had Bell's palsy during her pregnancy but thankfully it was very short lived.

I had a midwife appointment yesterday. They said they could do a sweep from 39 weeks if I wanted it but I'm going to wait - that would be Friday and I'm still at work until middle of next week. I'm booked in for one at 40+5 then induction at 41, just in case. Weird that it could have been my last midwife appointment.

Health visitor rang today as well and she's coming to visit next week one morning before work. It's all feeling very close now!

glitterglitters · 04/07/2017 23:18

Gah just had some super painful contractions and they've bloody vanished again!

TinklingTheIvories · 05/07/2017 08:50

Has anyone else got stretch marks that are raised, inflamed and really itchy?!

I've got a scan and antenatal tomorrow so will mention it then, just wondered if anyone else had this?

They're in one localised area, right at the front below my (what was) belly button.

I've always used bio oil, and have also started to include coco butter and aloe Vera body milk in a hope of calming them down. Not sure if it's to do with the heat...

mynameisntLinda · 05/07/2017 09:33

tinkling not raised but they do itch sometimes. Prob just due to skin stretching. I dont put anything on them though. Waste of time and money.
Not got as many this time round either.hardly any new ones but maybe i was alreasy stretched and saggy haha. Not gained as much weight either.

rhodes2015 · 05/07/2017 10:22

I just had an attempted membrane sweep Shock
I had to tell her to stop. I'm really annoyed with myself, I thought I was braver than that! Feel like a right wimp! (to be fair I could feel midwifes long nails!! 😵)
Shes offered me another try at appointment next Tuesday. I don't want it. So if baby doesn't come on her own il be induced 2 weeks today.
Head was as low as it could be though!

glitterglitters · 05/07/2017 11:16

Yeah it's a bit intrusive @rhodes2015

Lots of breathing and concentrating on ceiling tiles is key. 😪

Notyetthere · 05/07/2017 12:38

Rhodes yes very uncomfortable. I had one when I was stuck at 7cm and thankfully it did lead to full dilation. It involved a lot of gas and air! I was already contracting back to back and in a lot of pain so I can't really tell how much of the discomfort was due to the sweep but the g&A helped a lot as the pethidine had worn off by then. It also helped a lot with the stitching.

rhodes2015 · 05/07/2017 12:50

not that sounds awful, poor you! Good to hear G&A helped though!
glitters I think that's where I went wrong I was practically looking at her the whole time, I think I needed to try and zone out a bit Grin
It has started dawning on me that I really haven't got a great pain threshold and I'm getting a bit scared. I couldn't even get through a sweep Blush

Gooseygoosey12345 · 05/07/2017 13:22

@mynameisntLinda I'm useless keeping up with threads! I shall message you for the Facebook group. My first is a girl :) she'll be 7 in a couple of months

glitterglitters · 05/07/2017 13:23

If you get the chance look into a little bit of hypnobirthing and distraction techniques. Just being able to get yourself out of your body and focus elsewhere can really help.

I've had a lot of very intrusive and painful dentist work in the past so I think I must have honed my skills doing that Confused

Effy1990 · 05/07/2017 13:36

Has anyone experienced nausea, its like it was in my first trimester. I'm 38+6 and bh have been slowly increasing in frequency. Does this mean the baby will be arriving soon, I'm fed up of being pregnant.
