Hello, wondering if there are any other first time mums to be due in Feb 2018?

I can't be the only on shitting myself.

Me too :) do you have a rough due date?

Blissfulignorance · 04/06/2017 17:38

6th Feb apparently. Almost 5weeks now, you?

The due date calculator on here says 14th Feb - which is also my birthday lol! Have to say even though we were ttc I'm now sitting here wondering what the hell I've done... :)

Blissfulignorance · 04/06/2017 21:01

Valentine's Day! How lovely.

Have you got many symptoms?

Hi, can I join? Due 1 Feb and have been feeling very sick the past few days. Also overwhelmed and a bit 'what on earth have we done' too!

Blissfulignorance · 08/06/2017 10:21

Of course moomin welcome.

I've woken up with nausea today too. Thought I'd have a few more weeks until that but hey ho.

My boobs hurt so much last night I struggled to sleep. I feel bad for moaning because I I've wanted this for ages but didn't realise how crappy the first bit makes you feel!

ASplendidMoomin · 08/06/2017 11:37

I didn't realise either how quickly I'd feel awful. I found out really early that I was pregnant and had a couple of weeks of feeling great, which made me feel a bit smug. Paying for that now!
Hope you feel better soon x

Tortoise22 · 08/06/2017 14:20

Hi all, another overwhelmed first timer here too! Had my first experience of pregnancy sickness at work this morning, so glad I managed to make it to the toilets in time! Moomin I'm the same just had no idea I would feel this bad so soon. Also it feels really strange to have such a huge secret!!

ASplendidMoomin · 08/06/2017 14:41

The secrecy business is impossible. I find I'm just telling people. Just told a woman from a political party who came knocking at the door to check whether I'd voted!

Blissfulignorance · 08/06/2017 15:15

Hahaha moomin! I've made it a week so far and told mum last night. The relief of saying it out loud is great.

I'm yet to actually throw up tortoise but the feeling is there. How far along are you?

OP posts:
Tortoise22 · 08/06/2017 21:08

Hahaha moomin that made me laugh! I told my mum and dad when we found out and think we will tell my partner's parents this weekend. I'm a bit torn between wanting people to know so we've got people to talk to and wanting to keep it quiet in case something goes wrong.

I think I'm about 7 weeks so far. Seems that my nausea is related to hunger, I drank a full glass of water on an empty stomach this morning and then bought it straight back up again.

ASplendidMoomin · 08/06/2017 22:31

Yes Tortoise, I think eating seems to be the thing that helps. Keeping ginger biscuits by the bed and just trying to eat regularly even though not much appetite. Just had lovely evening with my friend who has 2 kids, lovely to get sympathy but she did hilariously blurt out a few horror stories from her own pregnancies/breastfeeding etc! Aaaargh fingers in ears. Bless her though, am v lucky in a way that I'm one of the last of my friends to have kids. Can benefit from their experience hopefully.

cookingbabydunc · 11/06/2017 13:26

Hello,

I'm due on the 8th Feb. First time I've been pregnant so also completely overwhelmed, but also very excited!

I'm also finding the wait impossibly long. My mum is on holiday at the moment so I'll be telling her later this week when I'll be 6 weeks. Holding off a little longer before I start telling my best friends.

I've been in bed ill all weekend but think I've got a horrible cold rather than it being pregnancy related?

I've loved reading your messages, I can relate to most things!

Blissfulignorance · 11/06/2017 16:31

Congratulations cooking it's certainly a rollercoaster! Hope you're feeling better.
I've been having the odd dizzy spell recently to add to the mix, boobs still hurt like crazy!

cookingbabydunc · 14/06/2017 08:35

Hi,
How is everyone getting on? Anyone else finding sleeping a problem? Some nights I think I get too excited and that keeps me up but also my body temperature is definitely higher than usual, teamed with tender boobs. Usually I like to be wrapped up nice and toasty but I'm the total opposite at the moment.

So far I've had nausea twice, both have been when I haven't eaten breakfast so need to make sure I eat before starting my commute.

6 weeks tomorrow!!

Blissfulignorance · 14/06/2017 17:31

Cooking I'm always hot!! Can't ever seem to get cool which is not me at all. I love to be wrapped up warm.

First pregnancy here, due 13th Feb according to NHS calculator. I'm terrified! First midwife appt booked for 26th June. Been sick for first time this morning and worried about how I'm meant to juggle work, a long commute and throwing up!

EmilyK83 · 15/06/2017 12:04

Congrats all! I'm over on the other Feb thread but just wanted to join this one too as I'm another first timer! Turned 34 last weekend, and im 5+1...due date should also be Feb 14th Smile

I'm also panicking at every little twinge, constantly checking for bleeding, and have the joys not of nausea, but of digestive problems and I have no idea if they're linked! Got a pre-booking in appointment on Monday with some other first time mums where the midwife explains how everything works, but I don't want to get too excited just yet...

SquintySquirrel · 15/06/2017 13:16

Hi all,

Got BFP on Monday - AF not due until Saturday so I'm very early and absolutely petrified!

Every twinge or cramp sets me into panic mode and I'm obsessively checking tissue after being at loo Blush

Have sore boobs and some nausea - had the odd twinge and I just hope and pray AF stays away!

EDD is anywhere from 20-24 Feb as my cycles vary from 28-32 (although more commonly 32)

I just want to fast forward a week to know for sure AF won't show up!

EmilyK83 · 15/06/2017 13:23

Hey Squirrel! I feel your pain - I got my first faint positive 5 days before AF was due...from what I understand though false BFPs are v rare?

SquintySquirrel · 15/06/2017 14:44

Hi Emily, I have some symptoms so hoping all is well - I worry about chemical pregnancy which I read was common if testing before AF and since AF is due on Saturday I'm really worried it turns out to be a chemical pregnancy. I'm obsessing today - noticed two drops of discharge that had a yellowish tinge today and of course I've convinced myself it's the start of something bad. So so want this pregnancy to go well!

EmilyK83 · 15/06/2017 15:50

Think positive baby thoughts Squirrel! I was told by someone that increased discharge is a normal early pregnancy thing, I honestly think you only have to worry if there's bleeding - and even then, it may not be a problem. Keep us posted!

SquintySquirrel · 15/06/2017 16:05

Thanks Emily my fingers and toes are crossed for my pregnancy and everyone else's! I'm a worrier anyway so I knew I'd panic but trying to be positive - im also suffering bad heartburn which I never get so hoping that's a good sign too!

EmilyK83 · 16/06/2017 09:01

You're not the only one Squirrel - I had CBT for anxiety years back and it's been under control until now!

llamabeans · 16/06/2017 16:06

Hi all! Another first timer here too. EDD 3 Feb and 7 wks tomorrow.

Glad I am not the only one thinking, "What have I done!"

Haven't told anyone yet as I'm still not entirely convinced it's actually happening. Can't work out when to tell people either!?
