Hello! Just got my bfp, would love to join up with others expecting next Feb.

My DD is 16 months, so we're expecting (almost exactly!) a 2yr age gap all being well. EDD 2nd Feb.

Thanks so much for the handholds! I'm so emotional lately, it made me cry. Really appreciate the support so much.

That's right pickled I'm two/three days late for Af so hopefully all will work out.

I'm a teacher too (primary)!

Thanks again ladies, glad ye are all progressing well. ❤️

MrsFrankTurner · 04/06/2017 18:25

I just went on a little run-first time in a week as ran 10km in manc last Sunday when I was appallingly slow....now I know why! I'm a regular runner training for a marathon in October but even though I've run regularly for 6 years it felt weird going out! I haven't run all week because I felt ill thinking it was exam stress but had a 9 miler planned for today Shock
I wimped out and went 1 mile with ds2 super slow & steady!
Will go a bit further tomorrow morn and see how I go! I have never run pregnant as running was something I started agree ds3....any runners on here who plan to keep it up?

Melody85 · 04/06/2017 18:36

Thank you @rockaby @scottishbride and @lookatthemoon! I did think about writing her a letter or doing it over the phone but worried that would make things more awkward over time, so just going to pop in tomorrow night and hope that it goes ok.. x

MrsFrankTurner · 04/06/2017 18:38

That's a great plan Melody -good luck am sure it will go well Smile

Firsttimeandclueless · 04/06/2017 18:38

I'm not a runner Mrs but I do a regular gym workout three times a week! Will be holding off for a week or two until I can get the exercises approved for pregnancy but definitely want to keep fit and healthy throughout! :)

Melody85 · 04/06/2017 18:39

@mrsfrankturner I wouldn't call myself a runner but I do run at least 3-4 times a week only really 5-7k at a time though! I've kept up running so far although at a slightly slower pace than before, some nights I'm just too tired but have kept it up as much as I can. I asked the doctor about it and she said definitely keep it up as long as you feel ok! X

MrsFrankTurner · 04/06/2017 18:41

That's great @Firsttime & @Melody thank you! Not sure I'll be up to the marathon but determined to keep my fitness up! I'm fitter than I've ever been and being pregnant at 41 I need as much help as I can get!

Firsttimeandclueless · 04/06/2017 19:02

You can do this Mrs and Melody

I am hoping it means we can avoid the back pain everyone says you get and hoping it aids recovery afterwards...that's the idea anyways. 😂😂

By month four I may well have given up and the o my exercise I'll get is spooning ice-cream. 😂

Rockaby · 04/06/2017 20:03

I'm not a runner either, but was a bit like Melody, (5k a few times a week), before I fell pregnant with DD. I gave up at about 6 weeks pregnant and haven't really got back into it yet (she's 2.5yo now Blush).

I do exercise a few times a week. but mainly workout dvds at home and Zumba class rather than running. I'm determined to keep it up this time, if my mw / doctors say it's ok.

A few friends of mine have done boot camp classes and park run etc right up to their due dates and beyond without a problem.

Toomanydogs · 04/06/2017 20:23

I'm already struggling with excercise, I'm usually really quite active and spend a large amount of the day on my feet, but my back is causing me quite a bit of pain already and I'm exhausted all the time at the moment! Think I'll just have to take it easy for the next few weeks at least but hoping I can get back to being active a bit later along.

conkerchops · 04/06/2017 20:30

@mrsfrank - I am in the process of training for the British 10k on 9th July - I have a charity place to raise money for Petals - a miscarriage charity who have given us so much support this year! I am determined to do this for them to say thank you! Did a 7k run this eve and did feel pretty awesome afterwards! It's the furthest I've run for a
Long time! But obviously after the miscarriages I am v worried about doing anything that might make it happen again! I have checked with the dr and he said go for it - last time was caused by trisomy 15 so running would have made no difference - feeling v v confused!
@firsttime - handholding - I had spotting with both my ds and ds around that 4week mark and all was well! It was
Implantation bleeding!
Symptoms wise I am feeling pretty shattered - and have had a dodgy tummy all week with nausea and sore ish boobs! And not v much of an appetite!!!

Firsttimeandclueless · 04/06/2017 21:03

Thanks so much conker❤️

It's so reassuring to hear stories like that from you and Sanchez

I think I get so worried over every little sign! 😑 Have to ship googling everything!

Blissfulignorance · 04/06/2017 21:07

Mrs I do HIIT training at PT twice a week, I have continued and I will continue to do so! Although I've noticed that I tire easily now and I'm a bit slower.

I firmly believe if you h e an established exercise routine then you should stick to it, obviously with the exception of contact sports.

New symptom today... constipation. Excellent.

lookatthemoon · 04/06/2017 22:40

Hi Mrs - I stopped running as soon as I got my bfp. It just felt wrong and during my last run before bfp my breathing felt very laboured. I still do yoga and bodypump and I've gone back to swimming. With my last pregnancy I found I could keep swimming pretty hard right up until the end as it is so low impact. I do miss my runs though ...

Hi Conker! I think we were on the TTC after mc thread together for a while and may have even been chatting about how we would keep running if we got pregnant again. Glad to hear you are still training. Smile

MrsFrankTurner · 04/06/2017 23:08

Thank you for all your fab responses! So many fit mummies out there! Brilliant!
I think I'll keep running for now & see how I go! I do love to run but my boobs need a bit more support than usual!
Have managed to get an essay written today so just an exam Wednesday then a whole month with no academic deadlines just normal placement and uni! If I'd have been tackling these two weeks of exams & deadlines at 6-8 weeks I would have seriously struggled Grin
Told DM earlier -she was stunned into radio silence .....a first! My lovely DF though (who has dementia) was thrilled and said "ah mrsfrank babies are always good news" Smile
I adore him!

TriJo · 04/06/2017 23:29

/waves

Tentatively joining, got my BFP this morning @ 12 dpo. EDD 14th February +/- 2 days depending on what calculator you believe. Second cycle of trying after a surprise and early loss in January, I have one DS (14 months, still breastfeeding) already, I've had one other MC in the dim and distant past and I'll be 33 later this month.

I ran until 25 weeks with my DS and plan to keep going this time for as long as I can, I hadn't entered any races beyond late June but am hoping to get my 50 Parkruns t-shirt by the end of the year bump or no bump. I did the London Triathlon Olympic distance at 8 weeks with DS as well and swam until I was overdue.

Sanchezwasntdirty · 04/06/2017 23:44

Welcome trijo and congratulations!

All you active folks are making me feel very lazy, especially since DP has done all the walking with sanchezdog over the weekend... I need to get my act together if I'm not going to turn into a whale by the time end of January gets here!

MrsFrankTurner · 05/06/2017 06:49

Hi @TriJo -congrats! You are due 2 days after me Smile
Many congrats! We can all be running bumps together!

Firsttimeandclueless · 05/06/2017 06:52

Welcome TriJo

Waves back!

So sorry to hear of your loss and fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time. All that running sounds very impressive!! It's a great attitude to have :)

conkerchops · 05/06/2017 08:08

Welcome @trijo! And sorry for your losses - been there and it's a miserable place - fingers crossed for sticky beans this time!
@lookatthemoon yes that was me discussing running on the ttc thread! I do genuinely believe running helped me to get
My sanity back after the two mmc'! I love it - it's flipping hard work - but the headspace and feeling of overall wellbeing runbeinf running gives me cannot be matched! I've just got this brilliant new running vest that says 'headspace' on the front and on the back in big letters 'this mum runs!' Yesterday on my 7k lots of cyclists yelled out 'great running mum!' To me which made me v happy!
So do we think the general consensus is that if it feels ok then keep doing it and that my race on 9th July should be a real possibility?
Is anyone else still poas every am to see lines getting darker? I am but I don't know if it's making me more bonkers and if I should just stick with mantra 'today I am pregnant!'
Thoughts ladies please!

lookatthemoon · 05/06/2017 08:37

Conker - I was the one who blamed both my losses on running (irrationally). My obstetrician said that if you are used to running and it feels fine it is absolutely ok to keep it up. You'll still only be in first tri then so unlikely to do any pelvic floor damage etc. Is the race at 10k?

Yep for the first week I poas-ed every day. I've stopped now! I found it a bit stressful, even though I couldn't stop myself.

Wave to Trijo and all the other new bfps!

Tortoise22 · 05/06/2017 08:39

Hello everyone, it's my first time pregnant so I've been feeling pretty overwhelmed it's really nice to read everyone's comments and feel some solidarity! Think my due date is 4th February but how do I work out how many weeks along I am, some sites count is as time since the start of my last period is this right? How have you guys worked it out?
I'm trying to keep exercising too but I'm finding my usual jogging routes a lot harder than usual! Hoping to get back into swimming and yoga too.
Is anyone else completely exhausted? I was nodding off at my desk last week!!

Rockaby · 05/06/2017 08:40

Hi tortoise! Welcome and congrats on bfp.

some sites count is as time since the start of my last period is this right?

Yes, this^^ is right Smile.

Blissfulignorance · 05/06/2017 08:59

Conker I took 3 tests in total, first was a cheapie which was a squinted, in the same wee I did a FRER which was blazingly positive. DH wanted to see a digital so a day later I confirmed with a clear blue. I haven't touched them since! All I've read is that women drive themselves mad by analysing lines. If you can step away from the tests and only do one if you have concern for example bleeding?

Tortoise your scans will be the best for dating but your midwife or doctor will also count from the first day of LMP. Also absolutely exhausted!

Tortoise22 · 05/06/2017 09:13

Thank Rockaby and Blissful that makes me feel better to know what I'm up to! I've got my booking in appointment with the Midwife on 20 June so I'm hoping that will help it all feel a bit more real!
