Yet another new thread, because just like all the remaining posters the old one is about to go pop.

I think you could be right with the mid life crisis. She keeps buying leather jackets, it's all falling into place1

runningal · 30/03/2007 16:02

hello all,

Right - just made a pig of myself on pineapple chunks with cheese, planning a curry for tea and have been on a long walk. May even contemplate (coughs) relations with hubby tonight , such is my desperation to get things started now.

Anyone else having any more luck?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 30/03/2007 16:21

Runningal, good luck with your 'attempts' .

I have decided to do absolutely nothing this time. Based on the fact that nothing has ever worked for me all the other times and I only end up getting pissed off and disappointed when it doesn't.

In the past I have tried: Curries, sweeps, tweaking, acupuncture, reflexology, essential oils, riding on the tractor mower, going for long walks.

Never tried sex though, that one is out of my hands.

Dp was going for a drink up on Sunday but his mate wants to go during next week instead. I said "no" that's too late. He'll have to wait until the baby's been born, fair enough I think.

runningal · 30/03/2007 17:12

I'm fairly convinced it was started by sex last time, so here's hoping, anyway!

I've been looking up due dates, are you 9 days over now, kitty? Any twinges at all there?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 30/03/2007 18:06

I am, yes.

Actually I've quite alot atm, some contractions, some bh's, back ache etc. At least things might be limbering up a bit which is hopeful. I start labour in the wee small hours, so do not think this is anything but a warm up.

So, you're going for it tonight are you? I have often wondered how on earth a couple manages sex when the woman is so large and , well immovable !!!!!!!

runningal · 30/03/2007 18:43

hehehe - well, certainly not missionary style!!

good news with your twinges - here's hoping things will get started for you soon. I think I'd be going nuts with the anticipation by that stage!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 30/03/2007 18:56

Well, with my history he'll be out by next weekend at the latest so really the finish line is is sight.

foxcub · 30/03/2007 19:46

Mossy alert!! DT on weakest link tonight with the other characters!!!

divastrop · 30/03/2007 21:15

kitty-sex when pregnant IME the earlier convo about dogs was highly appropriate.

i forgot about the radar that babies have that sounds an alarm in their brain if their mum+dad get too close.its the only method of contraception you need for the first few weeks.damn.

LaidbackinEngland · 30/03/2007 21:58

Kitty - if your mum ever finds herself in need of a man and if things don't work out with my dad's 4th wife (likely) ... we could introduce them. He had two tattoos and his ear pierced last year aged 56 and also has a thing for leather

Sex when this heavily pregnant is like twister when drunk - you need to be flexible and creative and not worry if you make a tit out of yourself. (Lots of pillows also help) - Come on girls ripen your cervixes or should that be cervi ?

Mossie · 30/03/2007 22:15

Foxy I did indeed see DT on the Weakest Link. Now if he'd only worn his kilt it might have kick started labour!

Kitty my dh hasn't wanted to induce labour in that way either think it freaks him out with me having a baby in there. Still, I believe the old evening primrose capsule is supposed to work in a similar way...

My next door neighbour whose ds is 16 now went three and a half weeks overdue with him, I was a bit but I remembered you saying your doula went four weeks over? He had some signs of being "overcooked" though, but still he came out without of his own accord, without having to be induced. I wonder how many babies are induced that would have come out by themselves eventually, anyway?

Laidback your Dad sounds funny! Does he have a motorbike and dyed hair too?

Don't suppose any one is watching the cricket? Another p*ss poor performance by England again... we only just won, what's going on?

DollyPopsOut · 31/03/2007 09:22

Morning ladies, hope ou are all well.

Last day of March today - I wonder how many of you will have your babies today? I can recommend early april though, my aunt born on 1st, DD on 4th with Mossy and DH on 6th. Surely by this time nextg week we'll all be over on the other side. Am sooooo looking forward to hearing about these long awaited last few babies. Sending love and labour vibes to all.

PS DT on the weakest link was a treat. I wasn't much of a fan until I saw him on Graham NOrton but he is GORGEOUS. If a little short

LunarSea · 31/03/2007 09:37

Pretty sure it'll be April for us now. Am finally getting a few twinges, but nothing even remotely resembling a contraction. Even the BH's seem to have stopped. Kind of hope now that if it isn't going to be today it will hang on until Monday - poor baby might end up being labelled with "April Fool" all it's life if it decides to arrive tomorrow.

It's doubly annoying as if this one had actually been DUE in April I'd have got the chance of 9 months off rather than 6.

runningal · 31/03/2007 09:39

Morning ladies - well, I had the baby last night. Very short, pain free labour, baby out in 3 pushes. Unfortunately, then I woke up. So here I still am.

Praying for some real labour vibes for us all very soon...

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 31/03/2007 10:04

Ha, ha, Runningal, as I was reading I thought "Bloody moo" You had me going there .
I had lots of twinges again yesterday and during the night, nothing regular as yet but they are beginning to be 'uncomfortable'. I'm glad he's going to come in April.
Did you get down to 'business' then?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 31/03/2007 10:06

Mossy my boys are very excited about Dr Who this evening .

Lunar, glad you're getting some twinges now.

10 days over

runningal · 31/03/2007 10:29

Good luck Kitty and Lunar - sounds like something may be starting for you both soon now.

Yes, we just about managed "the deed" although neither of us was particularly enthusiastic about it. I went to sleep fully expecting to wake up with contractions - I guess that's why I was dreaming about it - but not a thing so far.

We're taking our little one to Junglegyms today - maybe if I go down the giant slide with him that may get things going?!

Mossie · 31/03/2007 11:33

Good morning, nothing to see here though! I was convinced I'd have an April fools' day baby. (Fool's or fools'?) But surely if that is to be the case I should've felt something by now? Ah well at least I'll get to watch Doctor Who tonight... I'm so excited!!!!!

Kitty direct your excited boys to look here n for the really big trailer!

Runningal for a moment there I thought you were serious and I was !!

Lunar that is exactly what I was thinking, and it does make me a bit with the mw who refused to change my EDD. I know some mws did change dates if they were close. Mine wouldn't have even been lying as he's bound to be born in April. I try not to think about it otherwise it gets me worked up.

Dolly, a few more dates in April too, dh's Grandma was born on 1st April, she is his last surviving grandparent, nearly 90, she would be made up if they shared a birthday. One of my Aunties was born on 5th April. Good month to be born!

4 days over... and counting!!!

It's a nice day out today ... maybe the warm weather will coax these babies out?

muppethasakitten · 31/03/2007 15:24

runningal you SO got me there for a bit!

Well - it's the last day of march isn't it... so April babies it is i guess...

Mossy - all set for 7pm?

Mossie · 31/03/2007 18:46

All set for seven o'clock... looks like I'm not going to be going into labour any time soon!

Jaysecond · 31/03/2007 21:10

ah bless you guys, youre still here, feeling for you all as you are overdue, but still, April is a good month to have LO's!

I keep thinking of you all, really hope your labours go well, its been two weeks now that Jensen was born and i keep reliving my labour and birth, i loved it all, the pain, the pushing, the pool, the gas and air, and finally the baby, sending you all great vibes and lots of best wishes for when it comes!

Jay xxxxx

divastrop · 31/03/2007 21:26

ha mossy-i have visions of you going into labour just as you sat down to watch dr.who and being mightily annoyed that you would miss it

runningal-i thought you were serious at first and had the same sort of labour as me.well, not totally pain-free but out in 3 pushes and delivering the placenta was more painful than delivering the baby!

only a few hours left...who will really have a march baby?

i'm well and truly fed up now and im going to drink wine and smoke fags and go read the relationship threads and hope they prove to me that dp is still wonderful...hope..

i will look forward to some new members of the post-natal thread tomorrow.good luck all.

LunarSea · 01/04/2007 07:33

So it's official - April and we're still here. Yesterdays twinges were obviously just a slightly early April Fool's joke, because they've stopped completely now. I get the feeling that the only way this one is going to come out is when it's got no choice in the matter - so it's looking like induction here we come.

OP posts:
kittywaitsfornumber6 · 01/04/2007 08:49

Yes, I'm here too. I'm quite excited now as I know this will be the week for me (most probably), just don't know when.

Diva, that sounded like a good plan, I'd join you if I could

Lunar, your LO WILL come out when cooked. I've never been induced and they've all been very late, but very healthy and none of them looked remotely overdone, eg no peeling, saggy skin. If your baby is happy then it's up to you whether you can put up with the wait, no easy decision .

LunarSea · 01/04/2007 09:26

kitty - unfortuantely as they were estimating he'd be 10lbs at 40 weeks that probably means around 11lbs @ 42 weeks - so there are other implications too for going too far over in terms of whether I'll actually be able to get him out!
