Yet another new thread, because just like all the remaining posters the old one is about to go pop.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Mossy, good on you!!
I am bearing teeth on a smacking thread that I've been quite restrained on for the last couple of days.
Pea shingle are the tiny stones you put on drive ways.
We needed more as the weeds were growing up through the shingle already there. DP has been carting barrow loads of the stuff around and depositing it round the drive. It looked a bit like lots of giant molehills!!

TheBlonde · 28/03/2007 17:26

Mossie - no name picked yet, haven't even really thought about it
Will print out the thread with the suggestions and hopefully get some time at the weekend to read them!

I am off to my mom's on Saturday for about 10 days. DS can roam free in the large garden and I can hopefully rest

runningal · 28/03/2007 17:49

Hello again ladies - and many congratulations to chocpenny - lovely news.

Been a bit quiet as I ended up admitted to hospital yesterday. Won't bore you with the details - just a continuation from the weekend's illness, really, but the consultant was keen to induce me due to concerns about both the baby and me, and I spent all day under obs.

Anyway, all ended well - I'm home now and they're reasonably happy to leave off induction unless i get any more problems - phew!!

Numbers really are dwindling now - keep us posted, I'll keep checking in...congratulations on the beautiful babies....

CallieNewMum · 28/03/2007 18:41

Congrats Chocpenny. Ted was my favourite teacher at school (even though he scard the shit out of me and everybody else in the school, he was also the most fantastic teacher and truly amazing person outside the classroom and as soft as the proverbial teddy bear really) so lots of positive associations for me.

Madhide and Eids - dead cute pics.

Mossy and Laidback - thanks for the tax credit info, sounds like a nightmare - P60 from two years ago??? I'll never find it. Also DP's self employed so I foresee nightmares trying to get any cash off them... A workmate of mine did warn me to put any cash you get in a separate account in the event that you have to pay money back whe they get it wrong or your circs change!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 28/03/2007 18:58

Runningal, sorry things were a bit stressy for you, glad everything's setttled down now. So, we're back up to 5 in waiting.

Just had a quick look in on the April thread and they are popping all over the place.

There's been some serious queue pushing going on.

Mossie · 28/03/2007 19:33

Kitty I hope you're not being as cowardly as I was and doing a "post and run" job! Fight your corner! Have just had a lovely meal courtesy of... well, me, even if I do say so myself, and can't be arsed going back to fight my corner now.

But, y'know, it felt like someone was picking on my cat!! I had to jump in!!

Good grief what will I be like when I have a baby? Oh dear.

Runningal, sorry to hear you had to be kept in. But at least you fought off the induction!

Callie good idea that about keeping some money separate! If you don't have a p60 from 2 years ago you can request a copy from your employer at the time I think.

Blonde what are you calling her until you decide then, do you call her "baby" or does she have a nickname?

Leoladyofleisure · 28/03/2007 20:41

Sorry I haven't posted here for ages, but I am thinking of you all. Looking forward to you joining us on the PN thread very soon and introducing us to your wonderful babies !

Congratulations Chocolatepenny ! Love the name Ted - it was my dear grandads name and might be Amos' middle name (or a varient thereof) when we can come to some sort of decision ! Hope you are doing well

Runningal, lunar, kitty and mossy ..(have I missed anyone ?) sending you my best labour vibes and hoping that your babies are with you soon but not arriving between 7-8 on Saturday for Mossy or anytime inconvenient for kittys mum x

Mossie · 29/03/2007 00:19

Sugarrush as well, that's the famous five then!

Oh I can't bear going to bed any more. Dh & I are in separate rooms now, I'm just too big to share a bed, but conversely (sp?) I find it hard to sleep on my own!

But I'm knackered so I think I'm going to have to go now... where's that cat when I need a very small manouverable sleeping partner?

Night all xx

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 29/03/2007 07:27

Morning all, just signing in. Last day of term today. Got to do the rounds of easter activities and concerts at school.
Hope everyone had a good night's rest

Morning all!

Kitty hope you have a nice last day of term, are all of your dcs in concerts?

I had a lovely sleep last night... and only got up to wee twice!!! What's going on? Do you think my bladder's finally got used to having a baby in there?

Hatrick I reckon mine's an April baby...

foxcub · 29/03/2007 09:31

oooh kitty - will try and find smacking thread

LunarSea · 29/03/2007 10:15

I reckon mine's destined for April too. Saw a midwife yesterday (not the usual one who's on holiday), and after an internal exam - she would have done a sweep but things apparently aren't far enough advanced for that yet - she said that I could "confidently make plans to do things over the weekend". So no surprise that I'm still here today, still nothing happening, and still no sign that anything is about to.

Mossie · 29/03/2007 10:18

Oh it's a pisser isn't it! What's your previous form Lunar? Early? Late? On time?

runningal · 29/03/2007 10:35

Morning all - hope you're all well, especially our famous five! more labour vibes from me to our ladies in waiting ~~~~~~~~~~

Absolutely nothing happening here, I'll probably deliver in May at this rate! Anyone else anything more exciting to report? Good luck! Can't wait to get onto that postnatal thread...

mytwopenceworth · 29/03/2007 10:36

hiya. i got invited over - but i was going to come and pinch a coffee and hobnob anyway!

wanted to say hello and see how you are doing. i remember the waiting. god i was royally p*d off at the end!!

Mossie · 29/03/2007 10:56

Mtpw there's no hobnobs and coffee here, just pinapples and pinapple juice!

Runningal I've nothing exciting to report, except... and I know this is tmi... why do I have a feeling in my lower regions like I need a poo, when I don't?

It's like I can feel the baby's head pressing down, but on the wrong bit of me! I was going to walk the dogs but then I had to sit down becuase it's really uncomfortable! Anyone else get this?

LunarSea · 29/03/2007 10:58

Mossie - last one was born bang on time. In fact waters went 2 days before EDD and then nothing happened and I ended up being induced. 2 lots of gel - nothing happened. Drip - nothing happened. Higher dosage of drip - suddenly all hell broke loose with 45 second contractions with only 15 seconds in between, but still zero dilation. After about 5 hours of that epidural to give some respite while it had time to work, and only after another 7 hours was ds actually born. I have a nasty feeling that we might be headed the same way again.

OP posts:
Mossie · 29/03/2007 11:02

Oh Lunar I hope not, but I suppose if it does, at least you know what it will be like, so slightly less scary.

Right this feeling of something pressing down on my bum is starting to hurt, the dogs are giving me looks but I think for the first time in ages they may have to go without. Merlin keeps coming up to me and putting his wet nose on my hand, he's the master of emotional blackmail!!!

Anyone know what this is? (The weird feeling I mean, not the dog, that's just typical Border Collie walkie tactics!)

Rosylily · 29/03/2007 11:25

Heads engaged Mossy!
Lunar, both my sisters had that kind of labour first but much easier next time. keeping everything crossed you have a swift labour in due course.

muppethasakitten · 29/03/2007 11:26

Mossy - that sounds exactly like the RIGHT area to be feeling the pressure... wait til you're pushing the head out and you'll know what i'm talking about! It's a bit like doing the hugest poo in the world (sorry tmi) - you'll be using exactly those muscles to push him out and it doesn't really feel like it's exiting from your fanjo!

Sounds like head is locked and loaded to me!

muppethasakitten · 29/03/2007 11:28

Lunar - my sil also experienced similar first labour to you... and has since had 2 nice'n'easy births. Hopefully ds1 should have paved the way for your new baby and now your uterus should 'remember' what needs to be done!

runningal · 29/03/2007 11:28

yes, sounds like the head's engaged, Mossie! Could be soon now - how exciting, keep us all posted.....
