@fattycow how did your party go yesterday? Did you find the energy to enjoy it?

Neavesa · 14/05/2017 19:42

Lol Sandy that's ok! I'm lucky with my ms (condition) I'm not on any meds for it and it doesn't really affect me, just hoping it stays that way Smile

Fattycowagain · 14/05/2017 19:45

SandyAmazon, it was okay. I was very glad to have a break at tea time and had a bit of a nap. After that I managed to make it through the night as well. Thankfully the last guests left at 1:30am, so not too late. I did drink a lot of coffee and coke, but that's okay for once. And today I am just incredibly tired and spent most of the afternoon lazing on the sofa.

Fattycowagain · 14/05/2017 19:45

If anyone would like to join the Facebook group: just send me a message!

SandyAmazon · 14/05/2017 19:46

I'm pleased to hear that @Neavesa Smile

SandyAmazon · 14/05/2017 19:48

@fattycow glad you were able to have some rest to see you through! It sounds like everyone had a nice time if they stayed so late. Hope the rest today was refreshing. Did you get me message about the FB group? Sent it a few days ago

Ndo £400 near me

I thought they classed 35 upwards as higher risk for chromosomal abnormalities?

ALHCTPS · 14/05/2017 19:53

SandyAmazon, sounds like you and I are somewhat on the same page trying to adjust to all of this. I wanted to be pregnant, and I'm aware of how insensitive it is to those who can't conceive to complain, but it's one hell of a shock to the system and I've not been enjoying these early weeks at ALL.

SandyAmazon · 14/05/2017 20:04

@ALHCTPS it sure is a shock to the system! I'm very excited about this pregnancy but I don't think I'd quite prepared myself for what it meant, so it takes some adjustment. Tbh I hadn't at all expected to be suffering so many symptoms so quickly. I also blame the hormones for my drama queen moment earlier. I'm not usually like that Blush. It's an exciting and challenging period that I will do my best to enjoy. Bought a journal this weekend so I can start recording the journey in a few weeks time.

Mummyme87 · 14/05/2017 20:08

My boobs are so sore! DS keeps hitting them 😩

Fattycowagain · 14/05/2017 20:11

I am literally counting down the hours until my scan!

ALHCTPS · 14/05/2017 20:17

@sandyamazon I read about a father who set up a gmail account for his child and planned to email it regularly until they were 18, at which point he'd give them the password. Told beloved about this and he was tickled by the idea and so set one up in the name of 'Stilton' (our joke name for a child, inspired by some of the bizarre names friends and family have named their offspring).

SandyAmazon · 14/05/2017 20:23

@ALHCTPS what a lovely idea!! I love that you've set one up called Stilton too, haha!

ALHCTPS · 14/05/2017 20:30

Beloved's not read a single thing about the pregnancy yet, but he's done the email address. He was grousing about my not having done the dishes earlier (he's been doing DIY and was feeling hard done by) and I bit his head off. He's alternating between being gooey/maddening and oblivious/maddening. He was rather tickled by the Baby on Board badge that arrived from London Transport the other day, though. Not that I'll wear it for ages yet, but I thought I'd send away for one, to help it feel 'real'. So strange not having my period on the horizon anymore. I can wear white trousers with impunity (while they still fit).

Fattycowagain · 14/05/2017 20:37

My DH is just saying it is weird that there is going to be another baby. Bloody men, eh?

coragreta · 14/05/2017 20:44

It totally does t feel real to me. Although I've only known about 12hrs. No symptoms yet but I remember being so tired around 9 weeks last time. Not looking forward to that!

Roseandbee · 14/05/2017 20:57

congrats rose and cora:) i got mine 4 days ago, still not sunk in

pebble82 · 14/05/2017 22:52

Mummyme87 same here. DD had a tantrum earlier and hit my boob really hard. I almost swore at her. They feel like they did when I was breastfeeding. Except then I could express or feed to ease the pain. This sucks and I'd forgotten all about it from last time.

flyingsprocket · 15/05/2017 05:20

My last pregnancy I knew I was pregnant as my boobs hurt so much, this time round not an inkling. The only symptom I have is insomnia. I did have that empty/low blood pressure feeling yesterday very briefly.

I had horrific stretching pains last time round but not til about 17/18 weeks.

I also wore normal bras the last time until they got uncomfortable due to bump. I loved going to bravissimo for maternity bras in the end as I'm normally an A cup!

Think I'll leave joining the Facebook group until the 12 week scan.

I heard some people were offered the harmony scan on NHS around here, does it have to be done before 12 weeks?

PolkaDotFlamingo · 15/05/2017 06:12

I won't join until 12 weeks either. There's always that small chance there'll be someone you know! I love this time when it's only me and dh.

Is anyone else breastfeeding other children? It's starting to get really painful.

chocolateshortcake · 15/05/2017 06:50

@PolkaDotFlamingo I am still breastfeeding dc1....it's getting a bit sensitive to put it mildly!!

flyingsprocket · 15/05/2017 07:12

polkadot I'm terrible at keeping secrets and also terrible at lying & in the last week quite a few situations have come up where I've had to lie. This weekend I've a huge family party & the following weekend I've a big family wedding to go to. I'm just going to have to act like I'm drinking!

I'll tell my parents & siblings when I see them this week.

Has anyone one else spilled the beans?

Rosehyd2 · 15/05/2017 07:21

We have told my MIL but that's it, I'd want her to know if things didn't stick or went wrong and I wouldn't want her to find out from us in a panic. Lots of happy tears and promises to stay silent, she's a very happy woman now! My SIL suffered with miscarriages as did my MIL before my DH came along so it runs in his side of the family, none in mine. I knew she of all people would be the right support whatever the outcome.

SandyAmazon · 15/05/2017 07:41

I've told a friend as I stayed with her and there was no lie I could tell that she wouldn't see right through. She's already got a dc though so was actually nice to chat with her about it all. Also had to tell my personal trainer so he doesn't accidentally kill me! Trying not to tell people if we can help it as only 5+3 atm. Will probs tell MIL in a few weeks and everyone one else can (hopefully) wait until 12wk scan confirms everything is ok.
