Hi all - thanks for all your good wishes.

Headaches finally gone - thank goodness, just nasty rash remains. my Eczema's gone mad too - now covers all my forearms. Only had a 1 inch circle of it two weeks ago!

Think I was so worried as the doctor mentioned the Rubella word so I immediately panicked because I didn't know if I was immune or not. Just phoned my Mum and she said I had the injection when I was small. Now waiting for my hospital blood tests results for the ones I had done 2 weeks ago to confirm that - have had all the others back but that one goes to a different lad bo takes longer - well it would do wouldn't it !!

Having looked on line the rubella rash only lasts for 3 days and mine has been more than that already with no sign of it going away - am using E45 cream like it's going out of fashion. Maybe it's an allergic reaction or something - my eczema always flairs up if I use a bio washing liquid.

On a lighter note, over the last 4 nights I have have had 2 really rude dreams - to the point of both times I woke myself up shaking as in my dream i's had an orgasm! I wonder if I had one in real life too????

Thankfully my dh never woke up and asked what all the twitching was about

katybird · 04/04/2007 13:06

Hi everyone, so lovely to read all the scan stories, got mine tomorrow and more excited than nervous now!

I'm in the no sleep club too, wake up five or six times a night. When DP was away on business I slept fine, but it seems harsh to relegate him to the spare room!

Hersetta - I've always wondered that about rude dreams too , DP's never mentioned anything though. Sorry your excema's so bad, it's an obvious question but have you started using a new soap or anything recently?

Hersetta · 04/04/2007 13:09

No - not new soap. I always use something like Johnsons 5.5 as it doesn't upset my skin. Am using a fairly new fabric conditioner - switched from comfort to sainsbury's so may have to change back again.

GillL · 04/04/2007 13:16

We've not thought of any names yet. We decided to wait until we know what it is and then we only have to argue over one set of names instead of 2. Last time we couldn't agree on one boy's name and we had to pick dd's name out of a hat because neither of us would compromise. I won and got my choice!

Lol on your rude dreams Hersetta. I've had a few but I think that's because we're not having sex very often at the moment because I always feel so tired and have no energy.

I've had a few baby dreams. All so far have been boys. Not sure if that's telling me that I'm having a boy or I want a boy. Anyone any good at dream analysis?

tokentotty · 04/04/2007 13:20

Seems I'm also in the naughty dreams club! Very odd aren't they. DH hasn't said anything to me either so I'm guessing it is just in the mind. Had quite a few dreams about the baby being here too GillL although I dreamt that it was a girl everytime so reckon it's definitely more to do with the subconscious thoughts we have than a significant sign now I know the truth !

GillL · 04/04/2007 13:20

Thanks itchynscratchy. DH could have all the best intentions in the world to deal with all the litter tray stuff but I would inevitably end up doing most of it myself. He's quite lazy really - I bath dd and put her to bed every night while he just sits and watches tv. He doesn't even bother doing the washing up.

GillL · 04/04/2007 13:23

I think you're right TT. I had been thinking about whether I wanted a boy or a girl and, as I already have a girl I've been wondering what it would be like to have a boy, so maybe it's my subconcious working on those thoughts.

bresha · 04/04/2007 13:52

Iv been having weird dreams, no rude ones though, mostly about the little one arriving early and not having anything ready yet and bite sized weetabix keeps cropping up

After my 20 week scan me and dp went shopping and got a really cute little boys outfit, but other than that we haven?t got anything else, i didn?t think we had much to get but all the baby things we do have are pink so we have a bit more to get than i first thought, i will make i start in may/June i think, although i am sure there is no harm in him having a pink car seat

The only names me and dp have thought of so far are Finlay, Vinnie, and Owen, we have been through 4 name books so far, our 2 girls have fairly unusual names and we didn?t decide on their names till after they arrived

jem1969 · 04/04/2007 13:56

Herstta- glad you're feeling a bit better.
I've been having dreams as well- a very good one the night before last! Fell bit guilty as totally NOT up for it in real life (and since I told DH he had to start talking to the baby as it will start to recognise his voice soon he has slightly gone off the idea too I think!)
Does anyone have any discomfort after their scans? Not pain but just uncomfortable. The sonographer had to prod me so much that I think it's that.
Fell bit jealous of you all knowing the sex. The chinese thingy says a girl but I'm utterly convinced it's a boy and will be v shocked if not. I think I initially would have slightly preferred a girl so got myself thinking it's a boy but now i really genuinely don't mind.
One friend is horrified I'm not finding out as 'how on earth will I know how to decorate the nursery'?? Tad overdramatic I think!

tokentotty · 04/04/2007 14:00

Hey Jem, I didn't get discomfort after the scan but he was giving me a bl**dy good old shake around and prodding yesterday which I wish he'd warned me before he was going to! Are you feeling ok ? Think your friend is being extremely over-dramatic about the nursery as I know in my case I'm planning on having Peanut in with me for a good while so what's the rush ?

Mrsshuvel · 04/04/2007 14:07

Hi Everyone

Haven't posted for a few days. Tried a couple of times but been really busy at work which has completely exhausted me. Its amazing how tiring sitting at a desk can be. It hasn't bloody helped with the sleeping though so add me to the rubbish sleep club oh and the sore back one for that matter. I think my back problem might be to do with my boobs. Was a 34C before PG now looking at getting a 38DD!!! I'm not massive anywhere else though, just have massive boobs and a neat but quite large bump.

Congrats to everyone with their scans, will add my stats in a mo. Good luck to those with upcoming scans.

Sympathies with illnesses and have everything crossed for those that need it.

Went shopping on saturday and popped into Next. They were having a half price sale. The only baby boy stuff they had were fleecy pram and sleep suits so bought a few in larger sizes for the winter. I can't stop pulling them out of the bag and looking at them. Brought a tear to DP's eye too when he saw them. Can't wait to do loads of shopping in Florida now. Only 2 and a half weeks to go!!!! Woo hoo

jem1969 · 04/04/2007 14:10

Feeling better today thanks. A friend at work was uncomfortable for days after being manhandled by midwife at one visit so I'm not worried. Everything looked v healthy on Monday, although a bit hefty for my liking!
We're going to have the baby in with us for a while too (well that's the plan) but loads of the house needs decorating so I'm going to try and sort that out before it's born. Their room is going to be pale blue regardless as I like the colour! I'll hold off on the curtains, cot bedding etc until it's born so I could put some pink in if necessary...

GillL · 04/04/2007 14:12

Agree about your friend being over-dramatic Jem. How does she know you're not going to decorate the nursery in a neutral colour? Our dd's room is going to be a soft cream colour so that she can share with this one when it's old enough to move out of our room, whether it's a boy or a girl.

jem1969 · 04/04/2007 14:13

Regardless of the sex I fear it's going to be dressed in welsh rugby paraphanlia (sp?). Made the mistake of sending the website to (welsh) DH and he has got totally overexcited at thought of welsh rugby babygrows, shirts, bibs etc. Oh well..I'll have to buy it some English ones as well and it can make it's own mind up.

Mrsshuvel · 04/04/2007 14:14

That sounds like a good idea Jem. We haven't even got a nursery yet. Trying to organise having the loft extended before August. Not looking forward to all the mess and dust though. We have my brother living with us and have to have a lodger in order to afford the mortgage when i'm not working. We'll definitely have the baby in with us for a while first anyway.

GillL · 04/04/2007 14:17

Pale blue is lovely for a boy or a girl Jem. We bought loads of blue stuff for dd.

Sooo sweet with your dp MrsShuvel. We were sorting out dd's old clothes the other day. She started off in tiny baby clothes and we couldn't believe they ever fit her (she's 2 now). I found myself saying 'I used to love her in that' a lot. Dd just kept saying 'ahhh cute'.

kiteflying · 04/04/2007 14:31

Conker - you are the first among us to bravely go forth in August!

Have added me to stats thread. Thrilled for all of you that know what you are having and don't want to be surprised but I am enjoying my two little imaginary babies (pink and blue) at the moment!

I read a thread on here yesterday (when not very busy at work of course, cough cough...) called best memories of childbirth and some of the stories were so lovely. Recommend for anyone still feeling a bit emotional after your scan or baby clothes purchases!!

Itchy, my DP (Irish/Spanish heritage) has curly curly hair - almost afro - and like you I have no idea what to do with this if we have a girl. Will have to see how she pops out although I think I can safely avoid learning how to do corn rows and all that other wonderful braiding. Good luck!!

I cannot really keep up with you all - you have been chatting so busily since 10 am. but wanted to say that if we are making up any more clubs, I am in jem's on the "wish I felt like it but don't". I feel so guilty about this and have been hoping the end of my pregnancy sickness might improve matters.

I am having massive problems just sitting at my desk for more than an hour now. My hips and pelvis just scream at me in pain. Can you be signed off from work for this? I really hope not.

BabyMadwithBump · 04/04/2007 15:08

MW app was fab had a laugh with MW, told her that she wasn't to wake LO up as s/he is so active, we got to hear the HB which was good and strong, told her a would very much like a home birth, she put that down for me, got to go and speak to a doctor about letting me have pethidine and make sure placenta has moved then that's it, home birth booked, I keep having nightmares on having LO on the kitchen floor so if I have a HB planed at least I'll have everything there if I do have LO at home, I'll be 38 weeks (had DC both at 39 weeks)when DC break up for 6 weeks holiday, so on my own, 2 DC, kitchen floor !

kiteflying · 04/04/2007 15:15

Well done Babymad. I read your thread on the nightmare about having the baby on the kitchen floor and really felt for you. So glad it has come to be a dream rather than a nightmare.

Mrsshuvel · 04/04/2007 15:17

Glad all went well Babymad . Fingers crossed no kitchen floor births.

BabyMadwithBump · 04/04/2007 15:21

Just worried as DS#1 was born in 4 hours and DS#2 in 3 hours, so a planned HB would be better than a unplanned HB, and MW will have everything ready for a HB anyway!

GillL · 04/04/2007 15:47

Good for you Babymad. My sister was told she was having a home birth for her second as the first was born in 3 hours. I have visions of mine being born at home or in the car as dd was born in 5 hours. I went from 2 to 10 cm dilated in about 40 minutes. Mum said the midwives were shocked.

tokentotty · 04/04/2007 15:51

this is really interesting as you (well me anyway) never think that first babies would ever have such short labours !

kiteflying · 04/04/2007 15:52

I am really really hoping for a short labour...but not so short that I cannot get to my hospital.

growingbagpuss · 04/04/2007 15:56
