hi all,
I can join you on the lower back pain. Dp massages a bit when I'm lying on side in bed and that works. On positive note, is anyone else loving the enhanced cleavage as much as me? As a usual B cup I'm loving these new C/D's, especially since they don't hurt anymore. I saw a friend who's due in June yesterday, she was absolutely huge and couldn't sit or eat comfortably as baby was moving about constantly. It really reminded me that this 2nd trimester is the perfect part. I have a cute bump can still reach to paint my toenails, have lots more energy, etc.. Got to enjoy before the 'elephant' weeks arrive!

itchyncsratchy · 04/04/2007 09:40

congrats on scan TT! another boy, did the chinese calendar work for you? It did for me, ds1 and 'girl inside'.
Very sorry for the headaches, I had my share but they seem to have passed. Drinking lots of water and taking paracetamol at first sign helped with mine. I found if I waited too long even paracetamol wouldn't shift it.

lovelybird · 04/04/2007 09:40

Hersetta, you poor thing. I'm sure everything will be fine but how awful for you. What a worry it must be. I hope you're feeling beter today, and i'm sure the baby will be fine.
TT-congrats on the scan, wow another boy. How many is that so far then? I tried the chinese predictor thing and mine says a girl, and it's def a boy so mine is wrong. Statistically it seems to have quite a good success rate though if lots of you have had the correct predicitons.

I'm still feeling rough, but slightly better than I was, I think. I have been signed off work for 10 days so that's good news. The baby doesn't seem to be affected though, but I don't think he likes my constant coughing, but neither do I! The baby is very active and wriggly, did not stop kicking and wriggling throughout the scan. Hope everyone is OK and looking forward to a nice easter weekend.

bresha · 04/04/2007 09:54

Morning
I looked at the chinese birth calendar predictor thingy and it said a girl for us, scan said a boy, we will just have 2 Waite and see, only 18 more weeks
I haven?t been sleeping very well either, mainly because my legs are really itchy, i have made a dr appointment for later as i had itched so much last night my leg was bleeding
Hersetta- hope your blood results come back ok, i think the placenta dose a good job in keeping most harmful things out
tt- congratulations on your scan glad all is well

bresha · 04/04/2007 09:57

Lovelybird, glad to hear you are feeling slightly better

tokentotty · 04/04/2007 10:24

How about we start this ?

Tokentotty - Due 10th Aug - Boy

kiteflying · 04/04/2007 10:39

Morning everyone.

I have to dash into a meeting but just wanted to offer my congrats to TT on her little fella (!) and sympathy to Hersetta for her horrid rash situation.

Lovelybird - don't go back early even if you feel a bit better - let your body take its time getting back to full strength. Good to hear you are picking up already though.

My only sleep problems seem to be that I manage to wake myself rehearsing the birth over and over in my head. I will be an expert by August at this rate!

Itchy - I too am usually a b cup and I do enjoy the uplift and sudden c cup effect of this pregnancy! It does mean I have to be conscious of not having cleavage on show though.

peanuthead · 04/04/2007 10:39

Hi everyone
can't keep up - everytime I pop by there's too much to catch up on..

oh all these scans! glad they've all gone well and ,lots of wriggling babes. mines not till 20th when I'll be 23 weeks or something. So i'll be calm till 19th! predictor thingy says a girl - I think it's a boy - been calling it Zelko (ridiculous yugoslav name and a long story)

I'm quite achey at night too - round pelvis and round bump - which is huge, my mum screamed when she saw me at the weekend, hadn't seen her for a month, think I've started doing the pregnancy waddle! And been getting leg cramps and those itchy legs too - was a bit worried as I know itching in pg can be a sign of something but I think its all over itching. will be interested to hear what yr mw says, bresha.

hershetta and lovelybird - hope you both feel better soon - h, what a worry, waiting a week, but as tt says the placenta protects bubs from most things.

was a bit scared off earlier in the week when everyone was talking about painting nurseries... we've still got to move house before we even start thinking about that - or about buying anything large like a pushchair. i'm a bit too superstitious to get anything for a while anyway though DH bought a video camera! glad he got his priorities right...any excuse for a new toy...

BabyMadwithBump · 04/04/2007 10:40

Them charts, there is about 4 differant one's !

I've give up trying to sleep because I just cant (so uncomfortable)and then end up sooooooo pss of, so now I just rest and fall to sleep if I can !

Off to see my MW today cant wait!

Babymadxx

tokentotty · 04/04/2007 10:58

Hope you have a good midwife visit babymad. Sorry to hear you're also in the bad sleeping gang.
Just realised I've made it into a club too actually. Got the old underlying placenta thing going on at the moment so fingers crossed it moves.

GillL · 04/04/2007 11:37

Hi all, glad your scan went well TT. Good idea about the boy/girl stats. I should be able to add to them on Tuesday.

I'm not having trouble sleeping luckily, although I do wake up every night to go to the toilet - normally between 3am and 5am - and then I go straight back to sleep. I think that is the reason I never feel refreshed in the morning - even though I've had 8 hours sleep. I'm getting lower back pain as well.

Found out yesterday our cat's 6 weeks pregnant. She's only 11 months, although the vet said her age isn't an issue. We were going to book her in to be spayed the other day (delayed due to lack of funds) but then we noticed she is looking a lot rounder in the middle. The vet said they can still spay her but they would have to anaesthetise the kittens and they wouldn't survive. DH asked me what I thought about it and I said that I didn't like the idea of aborting. DH and my mum both said it's not worth the risk of getting toxoplasmosis (from having to litter train kittens) and dd has been known to put her hands in cat poo last time one of our cats was ill (sorry if TMI). I feel really bad but I think it's for the best.

itchyncsratchy · 04/04/2007 11:39

Hi peanut, good luck babymad, and also sympathy for H and lovelybird. Rest as much as possible please!
Is there any place we could make a list of babies due as TT suggested. It would be so nice to see everyone in a list
I'm August 23 - girl BTW

Uki · 04/04/2007 11:44

TT- congrat's on the scan and little boy.

Chinese was wrong for me too. We are having a boy and it said girl, that old wives tale survey said 89% girl so was wrong too.

I guessed at scan, as I couldn't quite tell what i was looking at, but sonographer agreed and even printed me out a picture of his willy LOL, no uming and uring from her.

There was many more boys than girls on my ds's thread and seems this one is too. I didn't find out with first though.

Hersetta- i get a rash as well, Mines a heat rash all over neck and chest. I seem to get this even more in pg and always at dr's I think it's a combination of extra warmth of pg, their surgeries always being so warm, and being a little nervous at dr's. I have worried quite a few dr's myself. But i guess you would have had it before, I also used to get it when i drank some types of red wine.

As for Sleep - i often wake in middle of night wide awake, and have to get up and watch bad TV for a while.

Conkertree- LOL at your dp up looking for plans in the middle of the night.

I bought my first baby item today, the most gorgeous fluffy white bear outfit. I have tons of boy clothes already, so wanted something differet. I was also thinking of dying all the baby grows purple. I find all the extremely segregated blue/pink very annoying. I love bright colours. Does anyone else find this, or maybee you have better shops than me.

tokentotty · 04/04/2007 12:04

Thanks UKI

New stats thread...

here

growingbagpuss · 04/04/2007 12:04

Well mines another pink and fluffy for the list... chinese predictor was wrong!

Sorry to all you guys with sore hips, backs etc - I have to confess I'm so flaming tired at night I just close my eyes, and that's it! the thing that wakes me is being permanently thirsty, and checking DS hasn't fallen out of bed, and thrown his duvet off (his room feels like the arctic most nights).

I didn't ask about fluid levels -as the sonographer said all looked fine. I think I was having a pre-scan stress, and panic about work. No baby dreams yet tho- did have with DS - like babies in airing cupboards, and wierd things like that.

did Occy health check with my manager, sh's given me the green light to not work with some of my more challenging residents which is good - I don't fancy a kick in the tummy right now!!

Hope everyone's aches aren't too bad today - Hersetta - I feel for you with the headaches - I get migraines, and can't take my usual super strength pills, luckily have had v few so far. Don't let them fob you off with delays. Good luck.

lizziemun · 04/04/2007 12:25

Oh good it not just me having problem's sleeping. Slept better last night but had 3 pillows so i was propped up.

Scan not till 20th, i don't think the hopital i'm with will tell you what the sex is, well they didn't last time.

Have done the chinese predictor, and it said boy. I hope it's right as we have a boy's name and yet again we cannot agree on a girls name, Just like last time dd has the only name we did agree on .

itchyncsratchy · 04/04/2007 12:29

hip hip hurray bagpuss!! are you very happy to know she's a girl? Thanks TT for new thread. I can see I'm alone at the end of August so far, I hope you'll all be posting lovely birth stories. Do you think we'll ever have time to sit at the internet after new baby??
gill- poor you with decision on cat to make. Couldn't DH handle all litter tray stuff? I don't know if that's really impractical but you have my sympathy.
Are any of you dog owners? We have 2 staffies and I'm wondering how jealous they may be of new baby.

conkertree · 04/04/2007 12:30

ooh uki thats really exciting that you bought something - i would love to, but still keep thinking maybe its too early, but then i wanted to have some things bought before the third trimester so it wasnt all a rush at the end. totally agree about the colour thing - would love some bright colours that could be worn by either.

hoping to pick some up in france on holiday as my parents have sometimes found some there.

growingbagpuss · 04/04/2007 12:30

Liziemum - glad to hear someone else has names lined up -ds was named for months b4 he was born, and dh has just agreed on our pink fluffy name...

growingbagpuss · 04/04/2007 12:33

Itchy - not sure on the girl thing.... even DH sort of went ooooooh, pink and fluffy . she's just going to have to make do with trains and cars and lego!!

Don't guess we have much choice!!!! and genuinely releived she only has one head. She lept up and down through the scan and i think I had resigned myself to having a girl... my mum is over the moon though.. happy days!!

tokentotty · 04/04/2007 12:35

Ah Bagpuss, we've got our full name all sorted out too. Have to say we've not bought a single thing and was just planning on doing it all 'some time'. Think I can be a bit too laid back for my own good though sometimes so feel free to kick me up the bum when those with experience think I should really get myself sorted !!

growingbagpuss · 04/04/2007 12:40

TT - I think we bought things in dribs and drabs - no nursery gear for ages, and hadn't even assembled cot by the time my waters broke!!

I bought 2nd hand clothes as I found them, and just built up a stock gradually, of all different sizes, once we knew the flavour.

Once I've sorted out my baby clothes, there'll be heap of boy stuff for sale!!

Only you will know when you are happy to buy stuff - just don't leave it til you can only just downstairs b4 you need a wee!!!! makes shopping b**y hard!!

growingbagpuss · 04/04/2007 12:42

that should have said "only just GET downstairs"

tokentotty · 04/04/2007 12:46

Hahahahah I caught your drift ! Guess the other thing that makes it hard is that I really haven't a clue what I need or want to get. My sister in law has two boys so I'm sure to get her clothing and stuff if no-one else takes it first but as for everything else - God only knows !!

itchyncsratchy · 04/04/2007 12:51

I'm still worried about all the shopping, will depend on whether plan birth here or UK but I'd love to buy a really cute outfit that I can look at every now and then and imagine my little girl in.
I have teenage ds and am totally a 'boys mum', Man U vs Chelsea tonight incidentally preps are starting already pizza bases and doritio dips...woohoo!!
But I can't wait to have a girl, I have stared at them in wonder for years and I'm hoping my daughter will be a glittery pink ballet loving skip a long birdie! I'm dreading the hair challenge though, esp as dp black and I have never attempted braiding hair. I'll need some tuition from sil's on that one.
