Wow babymad that scan looks fab, what an Ebay bargain!

I'm also struggling to keep up with everyone's news so please excuse me.....just noticed I missed Pixie's introduction too [apologetic wave hello]

splodj · 19/03/2007 20:31

I've been watching the thread almost since we all conceived! About time I joined in.

My first, dd 18/8/07. 20 months scan is not for another month. Can't wait. It was doing this trampolining thing at the first one. Agreed with dp not going to ask the flavour.

Names tho we can't agree on. dp is Eritrean and all the Eritrean names I suggest he vetoes as 'village names'! I think we're going to end up with an all purpose fit both cultures biblical name.

Itchynscratchy - what do you think of Leila / Leyla for a girl's name? Easy for a tot to say!

splodj · 19/03/2007 20:32

doh - 20 weeks scan! should have previewed message, I'm not an elephant honestly!

BabyMadwithBump · 19/03/2007 20:53

I have a biblical name Elihea!

itchyncsratchy · 19/03/2007 22:04

Big welcome splodj and pixey!
Dp has a leila in the family already
I'm 18 weeks now does anyone else have sensation of baby/ hard bump moving around belly? Sometimes on right side or left but other times must be behind belly flab as even lying down I can?t find it!

Mrsshuvel · 19/03/2007 22:18

Hi Everyone, Pixey & Splodj

I see a few of us have their PG brains tonight .

Itchy I have noticed for the last few days that my belly seems to change shape too. It can feel very hard on either side or sometimes be quite flat or even massive. It's quite nice though as DP can see it too. I have one pair of trousers that i have to hold together with a safety pin and throughout the day i have to move the pin in or out depending on the shape of my belly. They hurt unless i re-arrange them.

Off to bed now, lets see if it snows tomorrow and whether i can get to work or not.

Night night x

Augustbride I'll be having the 4D scan in the midlands not sure yet there are quite a few places that do them seen one in Hinckley and there is one in Solihull that I used for my early scan although now I've seen Babymad's ebay bargain going to check on there.

If you do a search there seems to be clinics offering the service in most major cities.

Hello to all the newbies who have joined.

Hersetta · 20/03/2007 09:07

I'm very of everyone having scans too. Mines not till 19th April so i have to wait another 4 weeks, as thanks to the hospital not being able to count 8 weeks on from my 12 week scan I have to wait until I'm 22 weeks as well. Bah!

myweegirl · 20/03/2007 09:25

my goodness i can't keep up with this thread!

Hope everyone is well?

Had my 20 week scan yesterday too. Fortunately everything was fine apart from baby would not stay still long enough for everything to be seen and measured – they were waving, sucking, crossing legs and even had the cheek to yawn!) . Everywhere the scanner moved on my tummy I could feel baby moving to the other side. so I’ve to go back on 4th april for another attempt. The same thing happened with DD – and she’s never stopped since – so it looks like this one is going to be a real hive of activity too.

myweegirl · 20/03/2007 09:40

i've no idea how i managed to get those numbers and #'s in

conkertree · 20/03/2007 09:42

are you in falkirk myweegirl? think i remember reading that somewhere - if so we could have been in for our scans at the same time - i was falkirk yesterday at 10.30

jem1969 · 20/03/2007 09:50

Morning all- completely irrelevant to anything but Amazon have just delivered my Casino Royale DVD - am very excited at the thought of being able to watch Daniel Craig whenever I like-in a much better mood this morning after yesterday's ranting about my boss

bresha · 20/03/2007 10:32

Hi everyone, sorry iv not posted for ages, got so much catching up 2 do, any one wont 2 give me a quick up date? If would take me hours 2 read through all the posts iv missed,
hope everyone is doing ok though,
iv been so busy, been really ill the last week, was beeing sick 3 -4 times a day. I have a little bump now, cant Waite to actually look pg tho, and not just fat, getting lots of little kicks, dp cant feel them yet tho, i have my 20 wk scan this Friday

myweegirl · 20/03/2007 12:01

conkertree - yes i was at falkirk! my appointment was 11.10am. i got a row because i didn't ring the bell to let them know i was there - oops (but neither did the other ladies who were waiting)! there was also a woman who had 2 children with her (one who was having a tantrum) hope this wasn't you?

conkertree · 20/03/2007 13:41

nope - this is my first so no screaming kids yet. at my 12 week scan it said on big notices not to ring the bell, but then yesterday it seemed to say you should ring- but wasnt clear if it was just if you were early pregnancy etc, so i rang anyway and nobody shouted at me.

will see if its changed again when i get the 30 week one. they seem a little scatterbrained. got a phone call a while ago to say they had no record of me at my gp practice and could i phone them. phoned the next day, and they couldnt see why anyone had phoned about that. then when i arrived yesterday, they had me down at denny health centre instead of kilsyth, so had to take my notes back off me. but apart from that they seem pleasant enough.

so will you be giving birth in stirling?

myweegirl · 20/03/2007 16:53

yes, i'll be going to Stirling - are you?

was there for my DD, staff are all very friendly and helpful. don't know how impressed i am about the quick discharge (within 6-24 hours after giving birth). was in for a few days last time and felt that i needed that extra time.

i think that the forth valley maternity service is going through a few changes/restructure of teams - so that's why they might have got things mixed up. Though that really is no excuse!

conkertree · 20/03/2007 20:45

yup will be at Stirling. I live near Kilsyth but work in Stirling, so it made sense rather than going to Glasgow - and also you get two scans at Stirling which i wanted. Although turns out i'll get three now.

my sil was at stirling for her wee girl and it seemed friendly enough when i visited her. she stayed in for about three days i think cause the birth went on for ever so she was knackered.

saw the programme on c5 last night by the way babymad. wondered if you'd be watching or avoiding it. thought it was interesting, but the couple that were going to pay for treatment to have a 14th child did seem strange to me. but as chooster said on the other thread - each to their own

BabyMadwithBump · 20/03/2007 21:10

conkertree I'm lonelyone!

conkertree · 21/03/2007 11:02

thanks babymad - was interesting how many people on that link felt sorry for your mum until you told the other side to the story - because i'd heard your side first, i was watching her story and taking everything with a large pinch of salt.

that recipe looks good - will have to try them maybe at the weekend.

anyone got scans coming up this week? seemed to be a lot on monday - maybe thats the day for them.

am bored at work but the baby is kicking so am trying not to move too much so that it doesnt stop. thought it was a bit lazy at the scan (although the poor thing was probably sleeping)so am thinking i should encourage it to kick when it starts to.

tokentotty · 21/03/2007 11:15

Good morning all, hope everyone's well. Been off for a few days hence not being about. I have however returned to work with everyone pointing at my bump saying "Wow, where'd that come from !". No scan for me until 3rd April as we're off on holiday for a week from Sat which I really can't wait for.
Jem - loving how the arrival of Daniel Craig on DVD has made your whole world a much better place and cheered you up so much
Still got a bit of reading to catch up on and find out what you've all been up to so back in a bit !

conkertree · 21/03/2007 12:57

just realised i was mixing up posts when i mentioned recipes there - sorry if that cause any confusion - that should have been on a different thread where there was a recipe for flapjacks.

tokentotty · 21/03/2007 13:53

Sigh....well in an attempt to cheer myself up after being alone here on this thread apart from poor Conkertree's erroneous flapjack mail I've finally bitten the bullet and ordered that cream dress from Crave that we were talking about the other week. Even managed to get 10% off which is a bonus. Will report back week after next.

jem1969 · 21/03/2007 14:29

I'm here as well, just too lethargic to contribute! making shopping lists for my trip to New York TOMORROW- can't wait. Will probably get stopped at Customs due to the amount of stuff I've been asked to get from Gap Maternity by various pregnant friends..

Washersaurus · 21/03/2007 14:41

I'm here too, but at home with sick DS (again) so not easy to grab a minute to contribute anything. Why is he always sick on his 1 nursery day? It is a good job I don't have to go to work!

Looking forward to seeing some pics of the Crave dress after hearing so much about it.

Washersaurus · 21/03/2007 14:42

Oooo shopping in New York Jem - don't rub it in too much, lol
